Abstract

Anemia in pregnancy is a condition with hemoglobin (Hb) levels < 11gr% in the first and third trimesters while the hemoglobin level in the second trimester is < 10.5gr%. Untreated anemia in pregnant women will result in suboptimal growth and development of the fetus in the womb and has the potential to cause complications in pregnancy and childbirth, even causing maternal death. Prevention and treatment of iron deficiency anemia can be done by consuming blood supplement (Fe) tablets per day and adding vitamin C. Red guava is a fruit rich in vitamin C. The vitamin C contained in guava increases the absorption of iron by the body, so that the body can absorb iron optimally. The aim of this care is to provide care to anemic pregnant women by giving them red guava juice to increase hemoglobin levels. This research method is a type of descriptive research with a case study approach. The sample was 1 pregnant woman G1P0A0 UK 36 weeks with mild anemia. The care provided is by administering 1 x 250 ml of red guava juice per day for 7 days from 15 – 21 March 2024. Care is carried out in 2 visits. From 7 days of care, the result was an increase in the mother's hemoglobin level of 1.8 gr/dl, where previously the mother's first Hb was 10.7 gr/dl to 12.5 gr/dl. It was concluded that giving red guava juice can increase hemoglobin levels in anemic pregnant women.

Abstract

It is to be underline that learning motivation of students cites to one of the extrinsic elements of Self-Directed Learning Readiness (SDLR). In fact, Anugerah Bintan Midwifery Academy is one of the Higher Education institutions which initiates competency based learning education system in from of Problem Based Learning for their students. Therefore, the researchers want to identify the correlation between the learning motivation of students and self-directed learning readiness as well as its impacts on students learning outcomes. To deal with this issue, the analytical survey by using cross-sectional approach was employed. As the population, it was the third-year students of 57 respondents in total which were selected through total sampling teachnique. This study lasted six months from february to august 2017. The data instrument used to collect the and simple linier regression. The finding shows that there is a correlations between the learning motivation and SDLR presented by (ρ-value =0,009). There is a positive influence the learning motivation and SDLR presented by (tcal = 2.702) with  12% of total influence, therefore the regression formula is Y = 74.011 + 1.015X. This regression formula means that whenever there is 1 augmentation on learning motivation, it affects 1.015 augmentation on SDLR. This correlation claims a positive relation that the higher the learning motivation, the higher the SDLR would be. Based in this finding, the researchers come to the conclusion that there is a positive correlation on learning motivation and self-directed learning readiness of third-year students of Anugerah Bintan Midwifery Academy to be precise. Finally, for future researches on the same topic to put more focus on the factors affected the state of self-directed learning readiness of students.

Abstract

Premature rupture of membranes is the biggest cause of premature labor. and is an event in high-risk pregnancies, premature rupture of membranes (PROM) is a rupture of the membranes before birth or before signs of labor, this is caused by several predisposing factors, one of which is anemia. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between anemia and the incidence of premature rupture of membranes. This study uses a quantitative method with a cross sectional approach, with a population of 630 people, and sampling using purposive sampling with a total of 52 respondents. Based on the results of the research carried out, the results of the distribution of anemia frequency were obtained, in mothers who suffered from anemia (Hb levels <11gr%) were more than 30 people (57.69%), while in mothers who did not suffer from anemia (Hb levels> 11gr). %) was less, as many as 22 people (42.31%). The results of the Chi-Square statistical test obtained a p value of 0.010 < significance level (0.05), then H0 was rejected, so there was a relationship between anemia and the incidence of Premature Rupture of Membranes. Suggestions in this study are expected to provide correct knowledge and information about anemia and premature rupture of membranes to respondents so that respondents can pay attention to nutrition in subsequent pregnancies
