Abstract

Abstract

The Oxford Handbook of Islamic Philosophy, edited by Khaled El-Rouayheb and Sabine Schmidtke, provides a comprehensive study of Islamic philosophy from the 9th to the 20th century, countering the narrative of stagnation after the 12th century. Utilizing a text- and context-based approach, the volume highlights the contributions of classical philosophers such as Al-Farabi, Avicenna, and Averroes, as well as the innovations of post-classical thinkers like Jalāl al-Dīn al-Dawānī and Mīr Dāmād, who merged logic, theology, and mysticism. It explores the interconnectedness of philosophy, theology, and mystical thought, particularly through the concept of wahdat al-wujud in metaphysics. Additionally, the book examines the impact of colonialism and the relationship between Islamic philosophy and modernity, showcasing figures like Muhammad Abduh and Rashid Rida, who sought to integrate Islamic and Western philosophical traditions. This handbook asserts Islamic philosophy as a vibrant and evolving intellectual legacy, making it an essential resource for scholars, students, and researchers interested in its significance within global philosophical discourse.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a technology-based learning evaluation media Quiz on Theme 3 Subtheme 1 Class IV of SD Swasta Free Methodist 1 Medan, using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research method used is Research and Development. The evaluation instrument was validated by media and evaluation experts to ensure its quality. The validation results showed that this media was feasible and effective with some minor improvement suggestions. Students showed high enthusiasm during the Quiz-based evaluation, indicating that this media was not only effective but also interesting and relevant to learning. These findings support the application of technology in learning evaluation to increase student motivation and engagement.

Abstract

As a newly established institution, the Sunan Doe Institute still faces various limitations, one of which is the laboratory of the Tarbiyah and Tadris Faculty. The absence of this laboratory has a significant impact on the skills and experience of the practicum of science students, especially in the chemical and science study programs. Chemistry is a branch of science that studies concepts at the macroscopic, submicroscopic, and symbolic levels, so that chemistry learning really requires supporting facilities in the form of laboratories. One material that demands understanding at the three levels is the concept of acid-base titration. With the unavailability of laboratories within the Sunan Doe Institute, lecturers are required to provide alternative learning media that are able to provide virtual practicum experience. One solution that can be used is interactive multimedia, which is able to simulate practicum activities and encourage active student participation. This study uses a 4D development model developed by Thiagarajan. The results of product validation by material experts show a percentage of feasibility of 90.80% with valid categories without revision. Assessment by media experts obtained a value of 96.19% with the valid category and did not require revision. Small group trials produce a score of 90.78%, also in the valid category and do not need to revise. Based on these results, the interactive multimedia of the acid-base titration developed is declared valid and suitable for use in learning activities.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect and interaction between learning chemical equilibrium learning and the problem-solving model on the motivation of learning equilibrium learning in terms of self-direct learning capabilities (SDL). This study uses a pseudo experimental research design, Posttest Only Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampling uses cluster random sampling techniques. The sample consisted of 2 experimental and control classes of IT Nufi Selong High School students. Research data is a test data from self-direct learning results that include self -management, desire for learning and self-control.  Another test used is a cognitive test in the form of questions about chemical equilibrium. The test results showed that the highest value of the SDL test in the experimental class was 132 with the highest standard SDL was 133. Whereas the control class obtained the highest value of SDL 117. This had a good impact on learning outcomes that showed a significant difference in learning outcomes in both classes namely the average experimental class value was 88, 1 and in the control class the average value obtained was 66.4. With this it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Problem-Solving model in terms of students' self-direct learning capabilities. And there is a positive interaction between the use of the model of SDL and student learning outcomes in the experimental class.
