Jurnal Iluminasi is a theological journal published twice a year by the Evangelical Theological Seminary of Indonesia (ETSI) Palu. The journal serves as a platform for exploring diverse theological issues, fostering relevant academic dialogue, and presenting innovative research that integrates scholarly rigor with practical relevance. Jurnal Iluminasi accepts articles in both Indonesian and English, covering the following areas: Biblical Theology, Systematic Theology, Theology and Culture, Christian Ethics, Stewardship, Exegesis and Hermeneutics, Theological Developments, Contextual and Transformational Studies. Each issue seeks to make a meaningful contribution to the academic community, the church, and society by addressing contemporary theological issues from a biblical perspective. The journal is committed to maintaining high academic standards and promoting interdisciplinary approaches in theological studies.

<![CDATA[The text of 1 Peter 3:15-16 is often regarded as the foundation for Christian apologetics. However, a deeper analysis within the immediate and broader context of the entire letter of 1 Peter reveals a more complex and diverse meaning than initially perceived. This article aims to thoroughly examine 1 Peter 3:15 and explore its implications and applications for contemporary Christians, taking into account historical, theological, and sociocultural contexts. <![CDATA[Research on the rapture or what is often referred to as the rapture of the church in the pre-tribulation period aims to find the right answer based on Bible truth so that God's people do not experience confusion in believing a new teaching that appears. the difference in perception in interpreting the biblical text in the world of theology causes the interpretation of the truth of the teaching of the rapture of the church that occurred in the pre-tribulation period to be blurred. The church today is being faced with various eschatological teaching concepts, especially the rapture of the church, which demands a definite proof of a truth. Therefore, the research is intended to prove and provide an argument for the truth of the pre-tribulation teaching worthy of belief among believers. as for this study using a qualitative method, namely digging the texts in the Bible inductively to prove the truth of pre-tribulation. the results of this study found that the teaching of the rapture that occurred in the pre-tribulation period is a true teaching and is based on the Bible.]]>

In the lives of Javanese people, the presence of Ratu Adil is highly anticipated, to provide a life of peace. This writing aims to look at the Javanese view of the Queen of Justice, where the concept is the same as what is written in the Bible, which was fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the Queen of Justice. This concept can be used in Christian mission, to reach more and more souls, to know, believe, and accept Jesus Christ as Savior, especially in the lives of Javanese people.]]>

Humans' inability to understand and accept the fact that Jesus Christ was a true human being has resulted in rejection and refutation of this fact. However, whatever the forms of rejection of Jesus' humanity, the truth of the Bible has become accurate evidence and at the same time a definite answer to Jesus' humanity as prophesied in the Old Testament books, and supported by so many Bible verses both in the Old Testament and the Testament. <![CDATA[This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Litmatch app as an evangelism tool for young Christians. In the digital age, social media has become an important platform for spreading religious messages. The focus of the study was the use of Litmatch, which is popular among young people, to communicate the gospel and increase participation in evangelism. Descriptive quantitative research methods were used with data from observations, interviews, and questionnaires with 45 young Christians who are active users of Litmatch in Palu City. Data analysis using the SPSS program evaluated the effectiveness of the app in providing a space for questions, teaching correct evangelism, and providing appropriate gospel information. The results showed that Litmatch is effective as an evangelistic medium, with key indicators including clarity of purpose, strategies for success, and appropriate programs. The use of social media such as Litmatch can overcome the challenges of traditional evangelism by reaching a wider audience without geographical limitations. This research provides important insights into the role of social media in evangelism and church ministry, and offers practical recommendations for maximizing Litmatch in evangelistic missions in the digital age.]]>

<![CDATA[A deep understanding of the concept of the body of believers as the temple of the Holy Spirit is crucial in the context of Christian spirituality. This article examines phenomena involving behaviors detrimental to the body among Christian believers, such as alcohol consumption, smoking, homosexuality, prostitution, lesbianism, and pornography. Based on the analysis of 1 Corinthians 6:12-20, this study highlights the importance of comprehending the significance of the body of believers within the framework of God's truth. A lack of understanding of this concept can lead to behaviors deviating from religious teachings. The practical implications of a deeper understanding of the body as the temple of the Holy Spirit are also discussed in this article.]]>

<![CDATA[The book of Deuteronomy is the story of the history of the Israelites as God's chosen people, who live their lives only because of God's leadership and power. Living by loving God with all your heart, strength and mind is the only way to experience God's power and love. The book's actual name in Hebrew is summarized in the opening line that reads "these are the words". The book of Deuteronomy is addressed to the Israelites as a people who have been bound by a Covenant with God. The messages given by Moses were intended for the Israelites in an effort to prepare the Israelites before entering the land of Canaan. Therefore Deuteronomy 6:4-25 is a summary of the maturing process of family faith in Israel called Shema which must receive full attention and recognition for families in God. The confession of faith is an acknowledgment that states the oneness and uniqueness of the Lord God of Israel, specifically in God's relationship with His people, and how God's people should respond to God.]]>

<![CDATA[Theological views are a part that is always the subject of discussion, even the most important debates throughout church history. Because the theological view becomes a reference for building standing power in Christ Jesus. Strong theology will produce an understanding perfect knowledge of the truth of God's Word. But it is undeniable that deep the development of God's church emerged developing theologies. The emergence of the theological schools of Calvinism and Arnanism basically have different theological contents from each other. In the development of the church, the appearance of two different views, Arminian and Calvinism, has indeed had a big impact because the theological content of these two views is different from one another. Evangelicals understand salvation as a complex subject to deal with. If Calvinism emphasizes God's sovereignty over humans, Armenism emphasizes human responsibility in responding to God's grace, then Evangelicals emphasize both. God and man have their respective roles in the experience of salvation. This certainly should not be interpreted allegorically, the role between God and humans must be seen as a whole Biblically. This article will discuss the polarization of Armenians and Calvinists from the perspective of evangelicals. The method used is to outline the core teachings of the Armenians, Calvinists and the perspectives of the Evangelicals on the doctrine of salvation.]]>

<![CDATA[Christians are called not only to believe in the Lord Jesus and receive the gift of salvation, but are also called to account for their faith and belief to others, and even preach the gospel to everyone. In line with this call, apologetics becomes an effective means or tool to give an account of the Christian faith to everyone. Currently the world is entering an era known as the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era. This era brought significant changes to society. In this era, everything that is conventional begins to erode. This era will provide challenges as well as opportunities in the call of Christians to mission and apologetics. Seeing this phenomenon, it is necessary to formulate an apologetic model in relation to the 4.0 era. The purpose of this research is to produce an online Christian apologetics model that remains in accordance with Bible standards in the 4.0 era. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach with the type of phenomenological and theological research. Data collection was carried out using a literature study. This study resulted in the principles of online Christian apologetics in the 4.0 era which consisted of: apologetics actors, apologetics methods, and apologetics strategies.]]>
