Abstract

The advancement of the modern era has significantly influenced human lifestyles and habits. Technological progress has transformed how people communicate, work, and access information, including a major shift from traditional print media to digital formats for reading and learning. This societal change extends to the realm of church ministry, which now faces the need to adapt in order to remain relevant and effective. Churches are called to respond to this shift by integrating digital services as part of their mission to fulfill Christ’s mandate. This study reveals that developing the church through digital platforms is not merely an option but a necessity in the contemporary world. Digital-based church ministry has shown substantial benefits in expanding outreach, enhancing congregational engagement, and supporting spiritual growth more effectively. A church that embraces digital service can become a powerful means to realize the mission of Christ in a rapidly changing world

Abstract

The liturgy of the Eastern Orthodox Church embodies a profound richness of symbolic and theological meaning, particularly in the services of Esperinos (Vespers, Evening Prayer) and Orthros (Matins, Dawn Prayer), celebrated both daily and in anticipation of the Lord’s Day (Sunday). This article specifically explores the theological significance of these two liturgical hours. Employing a historical-theological approach rooted in patristic writings, alongside dogmatic theology through the study of Orthodox liturgical texts, this study highlights how these hours shape the spiritual life of Orthodox Christians. Esperinos marks the transition from evening to morning, echoing the biblical narrative of creation and the eschatological hope for divine light. Orthros, celebrated before sunrise, symbolizes Christ’s resurrection and proclaims the dawn of the new era, the age of grace and salvation manifested in the light of Christ. These services are not mere liturgical formalities, but serve as a medium of apostolic kerygma that forms the faith consciousness and spirituality of the faithful. This article also opens space for ecumenical dialogue within the Indonesian Christian context, particularly in enriching the understanding of worship as the heart of ecclesial life oriented toward the mystery of salvation.

The research method used in this study is qualitative. The method used is analytical, with data collection techniques using documents from a literature review to examine and analyze Family Religious Education and Parenting Patterns. Therefore, it can be concluded that Christian families play a significant role in shaping children's character.

Abstract

This article examines the concept of psychospiritual resilience from a Christian perspective using a theological-psychological analysis approach. In a world full of emotional stress and existential crises, resilience is seen not only as the ability to mentally survive but also as an active faith response to suffering. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a literature review to examine the interaction between Christian doctrine, spiritual experience, and resilience theory in psychology. The analysis shows that Christian spirituality—especially through a relationship with God, prayer, faith community, and the work of the Holy Spirit—has a significant contribution to fostering holistic and sustainable resilience. This article offers an integration of faith and mental health as a transformative approach to facing life's challenges.

Abstract

This article examines Jesus Christ’s message to the church in Philadelphia in Revelation 3:7–13 through a Greek-based exegetical approach. The Philadelphian church is one of only two churches in Revelation that receive commendation without rebuke, giving it distinctive theological importance. This study employs Greek syntactical analysis, focusing on the distinction between grammatical form and semantic function, particularly in the use of the genitive case, verbal aspect and tense, and participial and imperative constructions. Historical and archaeological data from the city of Philadelphia in Asia Minor are also considered. The findings indicate that Christ’s title as the holder of the “key of David” underscores His absolute authority to open and shut, granting divine access, protection, and vindication. Despite limited strength and external opposition, the church’s faithfulness becomes the basis for divine praise and eschatological promise. This study demonstrates that careful attention to Greek grammatical features yields important theological insights into the message of Revelation.

Abstract

This study examines the psychological dynamics of Moses’ leadership during the wilderness crisis through a narrative exegetical analysis of Numbers 11:11–15. Unlike previous studies that emphasize historical and theological-political aspects, this research highlights the concept of prophetic burden as a form of mental strain involving emotional exhaustion, cognitive distortion, and deep despair. Using a narrative-critical approach, the analysis shows that Moses’ distress is driven by excessive internalization of responsibility and social isolation, shaping his theological perception of God. The narrative resolution, through the appointment of seventy elders, demonstrates that leadership burdens are not meant to be borne individually. The study concludes that Scripture acknowledges the emotional vulnerability of leaders and affirms the necessity of a collective model of leadership in addressing ministry burnout.

Abstract

This study examines the Aramaic fragments of the Book of Enoch (4QEn; 4Q201–4Q212) from Qumran Cave 4 and their significance for Second Temple Judaism. It argues that 4QEn functioned not merely as apocalyptic literature but as a foundational theological framework shaping the Qumran community. Using an interdisciplinary qualitative approach—combining philological, paleographic, and comparative analysis—this study evaluates the role of Enochic traditions alongside texts such as Jubilees, Temple Scroll, and Community Rule. The findings indicate that 4QEn presents an integrated system encompassing cosmology, a 364-day calendrical structure, apocalyptic historiography, and ethical instruction. This study concludes that 4QEn played a central role in shaping Qumran’s theological identity and should be understood as part of the broader conceptual background of early Christian eschatology, without implying direct textual dependence.

Abstract

This study examines the role of worship music in the formation of congregational faith within a contemporary church context. While previous studies often emphasize the aesthetic and participatory aspects of music, this article argues that worship music functions as a form of affective mediation that facilitates faith experience rather than directly producing faith formation. Using a quantitative correlational design, data were collected from 191 respondents at Gereja Kristen Indonesia (GKI) Palu. The analysis shows a moderate and significant relationship between music ministry and faith formation (r = 0.552; p < 0.05). The findings indicate that worship music contributes primarily through the affective dimension by enhancing spiritual engagement and experiential participation in worship. However, its role remains complementary and must be integrated with theological teaching and pastoral formation. This study contributes to practical theology by proposing a relational model in which music operates within a broader ecosystem of faith formation rather than as an isolated factor.

Abstract

In Christianity, fat and deeds hold equel value. In this regerd, Evangelicalism emphasizes tha importance of social deeds over faith as a tangible expression of faith, a means of introducing the Gospel, and proof of love others and God. The method employed in this study is the hermeneutical approach developed by Grant Osborne, focusing specifically on faith as discussed in Romans 5:1a, and responding to the Evangelical understanding that compares faith with deeds. The research findings indicate that humanity is justified by faith in Jesus Christ, not by sosial deeds. This clarifies that deeds are te fruit or result of faith that has already been obtained. While social deeds can be performed by anyone, faith, acquired belief in Christ, is not possessed by everyone, meaning social deeds cannot be used as a measure to convey the Gospel (faith in Christ) to those who do not yet know Christ. True faith will lead a person to live righteously and produce results in their deeds, in accordance with God’s will.
