Abstract

BACKGROUND: Perirenal abscess is a rare disease, often leading to morbidity and mortality due to delay in diagnosis and inadequate treatment. Cases of perirenal abscess in RSUD Soetomo often have been going on for a long time and are severe.AIM: The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of patients with perirenal abscess and their management.MATERIAL AND METHODS: This research is a descriptive retrospective study. Characteristics of patients with perirenal abscess both clinical, laboratory, and management obtained from medical records at RSUD dr. Soetomo Surabaya during the period 2011-2016 and analyzed using SPSS 20.0.RESULTS: There were 38 patients with perirenal abscess with the mean age was 46.21 11.74 years. Most of the abscesses were mixed (peri-pararenal) namely 21 patients (55.2%), 15 patients (39.5%) perirenal abscess and 2 patients (5.3%) pararenal abscess. The most risk factors for perirenal abscess were 17 patients (44.7%) with kidney/ureter stones and 15 patients (39.5%) with diabetes. The most frequent clinical symptoms were low back/abdominal pain in 38 patients (100%), mass in the waist/lower abdomen in 36 patients (94.7%) and fever in 28 patients (73.7%), CVA tenderness in 28 patients (73, 7%), and nausea/vomiting in 12 patients (31.6%). From the laboratory, 29 patients (76.3%) were anemic, 28 patients (73.7%) had hypoalbuminemia, and 32 patients (84.2%) had leukocytosis. Management in the form of abscess drainage, namely 35 patients (92.1%) underwent open drainage surgery, 3 patients (7.9%) underwent open drainage surgery and nephrectomy.CONCLUSION: Perirenal abscess has non-specific clinical signs and symptoms is sometimes difficult to make a diagnosis. Patients with low back/abdominal pain with a lump in the waist and fever lasting more than 5 days may suggest a perirenal abscess and need further diagnostics. Abscess drainage is the best option for the treatment of perirenal abscesses.

Abstract

Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is a non-melanoma skin malignant tumor originating from the suprabasal keratinocytes of the epidermis. Exposure to ultraviolet radiation is known to be one of the main triggers so that the place of predilection for this malignancy is an area that is often exposed to sunlight, especially the head and neck. Assessing the potential of the Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) molecule in predicting the clinical stage and prognosis of squamous cell carcinoma of the skin. This study used 40 samples of keratinized and non-keratinized Squamous Cell Carcinoma patients who were then given EGFR staining by immunohistochemistry. The result of staining on EGFR by immunohistochemistry is brown, whereas if it appears blue, the result is negative. The relationship of EGFR expression from 40 slides of SCC collected with EGFR immunohistochemical staining found 6 malignant tumors (15%) negative EGFR, then 14 malignant tumors (35%) showed weak grade (positive 1), 6 malignant tumors (15%) showed moderate expression level (positive 2) and 14 malignant tumors (35%) showed strong expression (positive 3). The test results showed a significant relationship between the level of EGFR with the clinical stage of squamous cell carcinoma as indicated by the value of p = 0.030 ( 0.05). The analysis was analyzed using the two-tailed Bivariate Correlation test. Expression of EGFR molecules on immunohistochemical staining of SCC of the skin can be used to determine the clinical stage of SCC of the skin.

Abstract

Background: Cases of sexual violence, namely rape, are still happening. We can see this with information from various print media, electronic media and mass media. Rape cases often cause deep trauma or scars on the victim's body which can be used as evidence. Objective: To determine the pattern of genital wounds of women victims of rape in hospital. Bhayangkara TK.II Medan from 2018-2019. Methods: This study used a descriptive method with a retrospective approach based on the results of secondary data from post mortem et repertum in cases of rape at the Hospital of Bhayangkara TK.II Medan which were taken by total sampling. Result: It was found that the victims with the most data were aged 12-16 years, as many as 96 victims (46.2%) who had torn wounds and were located in Hymen as many as 201 victims (91.4%), with the direction of hymen tears at 6 o'clock as many as 152 victims (11.6%). Conclusion: Teenagers with tearing wounds in the hymen position at 6 o'clock are most victims of rape.

Abstract

Introduction Objectives : Double J ureteral stents (DJ stent) have become one of the most basic and valuable tools in the urological practice. Insertion of DJ stent provide direct drainage from the kidney to the bladder without the need for external diversion. The indications for insertion of stents into the urinary tract has expended significantly for oncology also non-oncology case. This study was designed to observe the indication and insertion metode of DJ ureteral stenting in Department of Urology, Medical faculty of Airlangga University dr. Soetomo Hospital, Surabaya, from January 2012 to December 2015.AIM: The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of patients with perirenal abscess and their management.Materials and Methods : Retrospective-Descriptive Study was conducted at Department of Urology, Medical faculty of Airlangga University dr. Soetomo Hospital, Surabaya from January 2012 to December 2015 with total number of 836 patients who underwent DJ ureteral stenting. Additional analysis was done for factors affecting indication, age, sex, and insertion methods. Results : Majority of the patients 829 (99,2%) were adults between 17 to 81 years with mean age 47 years old with male to female ratio was. 1:1,3. Majority of insertion methods was with endourology 748 (89 %) and open surgical 88 (11 %), The most common indication for DJ ureteral stenting was urinary tract stone disease (kidney: 130, ureter: 315, kidney and ureter: 80) total 525 patients(63 %), and followed by oncology case 254 patients (30 %), stenosis (ureter: 19, UVJ: 3, UPJ: 16) total 38 patients (5 %) dan neglected DJ stent 19 patients(2 %). The most common cause of DJ ureteral stenting for male was urinary tract stone disease 201 patients (38,2 %), and the most common cause of DJ ureteral stenting for female was oncology case 37 patients (93,4 %).Conclusion : Majority of the patients that performed DJ ureteral stenting 829 (99,2%) were adults with male to female ratio was. 1:1,3. Majority of insertion methods of DJ stents was with endourology. The most common indication for DJ ureteral stenting was urinary tract stone disease and followed by oncology case.

Abstract

The level of satisfaction and obstacles to the use of e-learning can be measured through a questionnaire. The level of satisfaction can be influenced by the student's perception factor which plays an important role in the level of satisfaction of using e-learning in lectures. The level of satisfaction is all conditions and influences from within students on the use of e-learning. The higher the level of satisfaction with the use of e-learning, the higher the interest of students in using e-learning so that they will appear satisfied. Objectives: This study aims to determine the level of satisfaction and obstacles to the use of e-learning at UMSU Medical Faculty. Methods: This research is a quantitative descriptive study with a cross sectional design. The research sample consisted of 68 students of FK UMSU class 2019, 2020 and 2021 which were taken using the consecutive sampling method. This study was tested with a satisfaction level questionnaire that has been validated with SPSS, the value of Rcount Rtable. Results: Overall, the results showed that they were satisfied with students' perceptions of e-learning with a total score of 77.7%. The mean value of the satisfaction level component shows good results on student perceptions of e-learning. The highest obstacles encountered are device errors and server down. Conclusion: Students' perceptions of the use of e-learning are categorized as satisfied and problems are found, especially device errors and serverdowns.Keyword : e-learning, constraints, level of satisfaction
