Abstract

The purpose of this data gathering endeavor is to discern and scrutinize empirical research works that have been published in academic journals from 2010 onwards, with a specific emphasis on the execution of ecologically sustainable schools in the East Java Province. The review incorporates a range of research methodologies, including quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods, and literature review studies. The Sinta database, which is a Science and Technology Index, is employed for the purpose of conducting literature research. Through the examination of various articles, it has been determined that the introduction of ecologically sustainable schools in the region of East Java has yielded favorable results. Educational institutions have developed all-encompassing initiatives that prioritize ecological factors to cultivate and augment ecological consciousness among their constituents. The aforementioned programs comprise a range of endeavors, including but not limited to waste management, energy efficiency, preservation of biodiversity, and implementation of sustainable practices. The results emphasize the importance of the school's function and the proactive engagement of the school community in achieving an ecologically sustainable educational institution. The present literature review offers significant perspectives on the execution of ecologically sustainable schools in East Java Province and underscores the significance of incorporating environmental principles and practices into the educational milieu. The aforementioned serves as a fundamental basis for prospective investigations and bolsters the continuous endeavors towards establishing ecologically aware educational institutions that foster sustainable progress within the area.

Abstract

Kinesthetic intelligence-based thematic learning is a theme learning approach where learning activities entail more movement and physical activity (kinesthetic) using an active learning paradigm. The fact that each learner has a unique learning and information-capture potential serves as motivation for applying this knowledge. Therefore, it is crucial for teachers to present their lessons in unique and original ways so that students will readily accept them. Applying kinesthetic intelligence-based theme learning has a number of benefits, including making it simpler to directly explain subject to kids because learning includes students' physical abilities. This study aims to characterize learning, how learning is put into practice, and how thematic learning based on kinesthetic intelligence is evaluated in Baros Mandiri 3 Elementary School's second grade. A case study research design was chosen as the research methodology in this study. employing observation and interviewing as data collection methods. The findings of this study are recommendations for (1) kinesthetic intelligence-based learning planning, which comprises, and (2) kinesthetic intelligence-based theme learning implementation. (3) Kinesthetic intelligence class 2-based evaluation of thematic learning, which involves formative and daily evaluation.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to investigate the challenges faced by junior high school students in comprehending Science educations (IPA) in Teminabuan District, South Sorong Regency amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. The present investigation employs a survey methodology utilizing a qualitative descriptive framework and case study analyses. The participants of this investigation were pupils enrolled in three junior high schools located in the Teminabuan District, specifically Teminabuan 1 Public Middle School, Teminabuan 2 Public Middle School, and Teminabuan Yapis Middle School. The methodology employed in this research involves the utilization of a questionnaire and documentation as the primary means of data collection. The process of data analysis involves the collection and examination of data obtained from questionnaires and documentation. The findings of the investigation into the proportion of participants' responses to a survey on the challenges encountered by students in comprehending science at the junior high school level, consisting of twenty queries responded to by ten student participants, indicated that the majority of the respondents experienced learning difficulties in the uppermost classification. This suggests that junior high school students encounter challenges in comprehending science subjects. The present study elucidates the challenges encountered by junior high school students in comprehending science education amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. The present study makes a valuable contribution to the advancement of pedagogical approaches that are better suited to addressing the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic in the context of science education.

Abstract

In a variety of disciplines taught in elementary schools, which frequently need substantial memorizing, the use of mnemonic device techniques has shown to be helpful in facilitating learning and strengthening long-term memory. This study intends to investigate how well various mnemonic device techniques and their theoretical foundations work to improve long-term memory. A literature review methodology was used to create the accumulated findings by analyzing pertinent study results, journal articles, and literature reviews that covered the studied designs. The results of this study show that mnemonic device strategies can help primary school pupils improve their long-term memory. A variety of techniques are included in the mnemonic device techniques, including (1) rhyme, (2) abbreviations, (3) peg word system, (4) loci method, and (5) keyword system. Students can maximize their brains' encoding and retrieval processes, which will boost memory retention, by using the proper mnemonic strategy during the learning process. This helps students remember and retain the information they have learnt. In conclusion, using mnemonic device approaches in primary school instruction can greatly aid pupils in developing long-term memory. As they provide useful tools to aid the learning process and improve students' memory of crucial knowledge, educators and practitioners are encouraged to incorporate these strategies into their teaching practices. The use of mnemonic techniques by students can help them overcome the difficulties associated with memorization and improve their overall learning outcomes.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine the correlation between learning styles and student learning outcomes in the Limnology course within the Biology Education Study Program at FKIP UNTAD, during the odd academic year of 2021/2022. The present study employs a quantitative descriptive research methodology. The data was obtained by administering a learning style questionnaire consisting of 23 items to a sample of 30 students enrolled in the Biology Education Study Program at FKIP UNTAD. The data analysis was conducted using the Product Moment correlation test. The findings of the research indicate that during the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year, all students enrolled in the Limnology elective course exhibited a preference for visual learning. Nevertheless, a diminished correlation was observed in relation to the association between learning styles and student learning outcomes. The results of this study make two distinct contributions to the current body of literature. The present study describes a taxonomy of participant learning styles, making anticipatory projections based on analogous investigations. Furthermore, this study investigates the influence of different learning styles on the achievement of learning objectives. Moreover, this study incorporates demographic data to control for its impact on educational achievements. The examination and interpretation of the findings from both analyzes will enhance scholarly comprehension of the essential determinants of success in the learning process and their tangible implementation in the field of Limnology education.
