Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh model pembelajaran Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) berbasis etnosains sehingga dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada konsep pencemaran lingkungan. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas dengan menggunakan teknik pusposive sampling. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian nonequivalent control group design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rerata N-gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,71 lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,27. Hasil uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan Whitung = 0,06 < Wtabel = 95,36 maka H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Simpulan dari penelitian ini bahwa model pembelajaran SSCS berbasis etnosains dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada konsep pencemaran lingkungan. Selain itu peserta didik juga memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap penggunaan model pembelajaran SSCS berbasis etnosains. This study aimed to examine the influence of Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model based on ethnosciences in order to improve students’ critical thinking skill on the environmental pollution concept. The samples of study consisted of two classes using purposive sampling technique. The method used was quasi experiment with nonequivalent control group design. The results showed that the average value of N-gain of the experimental class was 0.71. It was higher than the control class (0.27). The result of Wilcoxon test showed that Wcalc = 0.06 < Wtable = 95.36, then H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. The conclusion of this study was that the SSCS learning model based on ethnosciences could improve the students critical thinking skill on the environmental pollution concept. In addition, students responded positively to the use of SSCS model based on ethnosciences.

Abstract

Learning outcomes, especially cognitive abilities of students are generally still low with a variety of learning models in schools that are still limited. Various models and learning approaches have been tried but the results have not been satisfactory. This study aims to obtain information about the effect of applying the Advance Organizer learning model to the learning outcomes of high school students. This type of research is quasi-experimental with pre-test post-test control group design. The population in this study were high school class X students with a sample of 2 classes. Sampling using a purposive sampling technique. Research instruments in the form of cognitive test questions refer to the revised Bloom's taxonomy. T test results at a significance level of 0.05, indicating that t = 2.56 is greater than t table = 1.99 so that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there are significant differences in cognitive abilities in the experimental class and the control class. Based on the analysis of differences in the average score of learning outcomes shows that the application of the Advance Organizer learning model has a significant effect on student learning outcomes at each indicator and at every cognitive level.

Abstract

Penelitian  ini dilakukan untuk menginventarisir jenis tumbuhan, mengetahui struktur dan komposisi vegetasi tumbuhan, menganalisis kesesuaian vegetasi tumbuhan, menduga keanekaragaman jenis serta merekomendasikan jenis-jenis pohon potensial untuk ditanam di Hutan Kota Kibitay Sukabumi. Survey dilakukan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis pohon dan analisis vegetasi dilakukan untuk mengetahui struktur dan komposisi jenis. Hasil survey menunjukkan bahwa jumlah tumbuhan yang ditemui sebanyak 73 jenis dan 17 jenis diantaranya ditemukan dalam petak contoh seluas 1600 m2. Hasil perhitungan Indeks Nilai Penting (INP) menunjukkan jenis yang mendominasi di tingkat semai yaitu jenis Mimosa pudica dengan INP sebesar 0.75% dan sebagai spesies kodominan yaitu dari spesies Calliandra haematocephala dengan INP sebesar 0.5. Jenis vegetasi yang mendominasi di tingkat pancang yaitu Nephelium lappaceum dengan INP 1.533%. Spesies yang mendominasi pada vegetasi tingkat tiang yaitu Swietenia mahagoni dan Agathis dammara dengan masing-masing INP yaitu sebesar 1.711 dan 1.127%, sedangkan spesies yang mendominasi di tingkat pohon yaitu Agathis dammara dengan INP sebesar 2.47%. Hasil perhitungan Indeks Keanekaragaman Jenis (H’) Shannon-Wienner sebesar 4.71. Secara umum jenis-jenis pohon Hutan Kota Kibitay Sukabumi tergolong cukup sesuai dengan nilai rata-rata 60,232 yang terdiri atas 13 jenis pohon dengan kriteria sesuai, 22 jenis pohon dengan kriteria cukup sesuai dan 25 jenis pohon dengan kriteria tidak sesuai.

Abstract

Salah satu pembelajaran yang menekankan penguasaan keterampilan berupa kemampuan memecahkan masalah adalah Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA). Kemampuan ini termasuk ke dalam aspek critical thinking. Karakteristik siswa SMP yang sudah mulai mampu berpikir kritis secara mandiri perlu dilakukan pengembangan kemampuan tersebut ke depannya. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui profil kemampuan memecahkan masalah siswa SMP kelas VIII. Metode penelitian adalah deskriptif dengan menggunakan subjek penelitian siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri Kabupaten Sukabumi yang dipilih berdasarkan purposive sampling. Instrumen  penelitian berupa soal kemampuan memecahkan masalah sebanyak 10 soal uraian dengan 5 indikator (mengidentifikasi masalah, mengumpulkan data, menetapkan hipotesis, menguji hipotesis, dan menarik kesimpulan) pada materi sistem ekskresi. Instrumen pendukung adalah lembar wawancara. Analisis data penelitian dilakukan dengan menghitung capaian rata-rata skor kemampuan memecahkan masalah siswa perindikator dalam bentuk persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persentase kemampuan memecahkan masalah siswa adalah 40,3% (dikategorikan kurang). Berdasarkan wawancara diketahui bahwa kurangnya kemampuan memecahkan masalah siswa dikarenakan metode pembelajaran yang digunakan belum melatihkan kemampuan memecahkan masalah. Metode pembelajaran yang digunakan adalah ceramah, tanya jawab dan diskusi. Kemampuan memecahkan masalah dapat ditingkatkan dengan cara guru memilih metode pembelajaran yang mampu melatih dan mengembangkan kemampuan ini, yaitu dengan metode praktikum. One of the lessons that emphasizes mastery of skill in the form of problem solving skills is Natural Sciences (IPA). These skills are included in the critical thinking aspect. The characteristics of junior high school (SMP) students who have begun to be able to think critically independently need to develop these skills in the future. Therefore, the study aimed to determine the profile of the problem solving skills of junior high school student in class VIII. The study method was descriptive using the subjects of class VIII students of SMP Negeri Sukabumi who were selected based on purposive sampling. The study instrument was 10 questions in description with 5 indicators (identifying problems, collecting data, establishing hypotheses, testing hypotheses and drawing conclusions) on the excretory system material. The supporting instrument was an interview sheet. Data analysis was carried out by calculating the average achievement score of the indicator student's problem-solving skills in the form of a percentage. The results showed the percentage of students' problem solving skills was 40.3% (categorized as less). Based on the interview, it was known that the students' lack of problem solving skills was due to the learning methods used had not yet practiced problem solving skills. The learning methods used are lectures, question and answer, and discussion. The problem solving skills can be improved by the teacher chooses learning methods that are able to train and develop these skills, one of those is the practicum method.

Abstract

This research is based on the problems the generic life skills of students who are still low. The effort that can be done is to apply the Advanced Organizer learning model assisted by project in the excretion system material at SMAN 3 Sukabumi. The purpose of this research is to find out the influence of Advance Organizer learning model assisted by project on generic life skills of students of SMAN 3 Sukabumi. The type of research used quasi-experiment with Nonequivalent control group design. In this study the sampling technique used purposive sampling. The samples in this study were grades XI8 and XI5. The instruments used test questions, attitude scale, observation sheet and response questionnaire. The results of data analysis showed that the average N-gain test scores of experimental class 0.77 and a control class 0.47. The average attitude scale of the experimental class 80% and the control class 83%. The average observation sheet of the experimental class 91% and the control class 73%. The average response questionnaire of the experimental class to material 89%, to learning model 83% and to generic life skills 84%. Based on the prerequisite test data the results of the study were normally distributed and homogeneous. The result of research by hypothesis testing with the Z-test show Zhitung=8 > ZTabel=1,96 then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. The conclusion is that the Advanced Organizer learning model assisted by projects has an influence on students' generic life skills.Keywords: Advanced Organizer assisted by the project, generic life skills

Abstract

The society at Takokak Sub-District, Cianjur have the fresh green feed issued which are limited in dry season. This society services with the aim for giving socialization and skill about silage feed technology for a group of sheep cattlemen have been done. This program was conducted with Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method which involves the society in planning and implementating the program. There are six program, as followed; 1) Choosing the member; 2) Socialization the program; 3) Training; 4) Making the silage; 5) Applying silage feed; and 6) Monitoring and evaluating. The society is very enthusiastic in implementating the program. There are six results gained from the implementation of this program, such as; 1) The society involvement was plenty enough; 2) Formed of piloting group who become the cadre and manager of “silage house”; 3) The participants knowledge increased after having socialization and training of making silage.; 4) The society could make a good standard silage which is convinient for the cattle; 5) The society could get a solution through the difficulty of gained the green feed in dry season; and 6) The society begins developing silage technology by their self. This program could be conducted well as which has been planned, and generally it could be said that the program is successful as the purposes of the program.

Abstract

Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) are substantial abilities that students must have as a basis for complex thinking skills. This study aims to determine the Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) of eighth-grade students on biotechnology material. The research method used is qualitative. The population in this study were students at one of the boarding schools in the Sukabumi district. The research sample consisted of 24 students. The instrument used was multiple-choice test questions with four choice options. The questions used in this study have a reliability of 0.7 (sufficient) and validity of 0.8 (high). The research data showed that the students 'HOTS ability was still low. The t-test results, which compared the students' acquisition scores with the completeness score (60), obtained a sig value of 0.78, meaning that there was no difference in the mastery score and the HOTS acquisition of students. Calculation data based on cognitive level categories, learning indicators, and achievement categories also show that the HOTS ability of students is still low

Abstract

This research to determine the profile of the argumentation skills of senior high school (SMA) class XI MIPA 3, students on the ecosystem material that has been learned. By using descriptive method and quantitative approach. The research was conducted at SMAN 2 Sukabumi in the academic year 2020/2021 with a total sample of 13 males and 23 females in class XI MIPA 3. Purposive sampling is a technique for sampling. This research is a description of 22 questions, and research instruments measure the scientific argumentation skills of students. This question refers to the criteria and indicator level for the Toulmin argumentation pattern. The results of the research in class XI MIPA 3 that the students wrote argument ability was still low, this shown by the results of the highest percentage at level 1, namely 26 % and level 2 at 34%. At the same time, the percentage of the argumentation indicator in rebuttal is only 13%. The student's argumentation skills for men with an average score of 48.2 and women's are 67.5. Therefore, the quality of students written arguments is still weak and needs to be improved again by using a learning approach that can train students written argumentation skills.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how students' critical thinking skills after learning using Outdoor Learning method assisted by virtual media field trip on learning biology material of coral reef ecosystem. This type of research is quasi experimental research with 2 class research population taken from class X SMA. The sample of this research was chosen by using purposive sampling technique. The research design used in this research is Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The instrument used in this study is a matter of as many as 7 test questions that each have been declared valid and reliable. Based on the data requirement test, it is known that the research data is normally distributed and the two classes have the same variance (homogeneous). From the data analysis it is known that the mean posttest grade of the experimental class with the learning using the Virtual Field Trip media aid is 70.76 and the mean posttest of the control students with the learning not using the Virtual Field Trip media is 55.23. There is a significant difference to student learning outcomes, it is proved by Z-test obtained Zcount (2.13> 1.96) then this research rejects H0 and receives H1. Thus, it can be concluded that there is influence of learning outcomes on the ability of critical thinking of students who follow the learning method using Outdoor Learning media-assisted Virtual Field Trip on the material of coral reef ecosystem.
