Abstract

The objective of this study was to examine the use of social media in building community existence True Blue Indonesia based on the theory of mass communication functions MacBridge. This study used a qualitative method with descriptive qualitative approach, which is a research procedure using descriptive data in the form of words written or spoken of people and offenders can be observed. The object of this study is a community of True Blue Indonesia with datasource comes from informants consisting of 2 Board of Directors (BoD) True Blue Indonesia, 1 Chief Operating Officer (COO) Blues Troops, 7 person board zones True Blue Indonesia, and 6 an active member of True Blue Indonesia as well as through the documentation. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, and. While the technical validity of the data used atriangulation of data sources. The result, utilization of social media in establishing the existence of the community do True Blue Indonesia effective. Exploiting social media fulfill the function of information, socialization, motivation, debate, discussion, education, entertainment, and integration. The function of mass communication through social media in establishing the existence of a community of True Blue Indonesia effective because attention to the characteristics of social media, the characteristics of social media, and attention to those aspects that can assist in the use of social media becomes more effective as set targets and types of social media that will in use, the power of creative content, to establish effective communication in person, and look for the right party.

Abstract

Background: Communication that occured between two or more people of different cultures is a manifestation of intercultural communication in daily life. The differences culture can make barriers in communication. Thus, Intercultural communication strategy is needed to suppress the possibility of intercultural communication barriers.Objective: The aims of this study is to classify and describe the intercultural communication barriers and to explain intercultural strategies in overcoming communication barriers from Kalimantan and Java ethnic students of 2016/2017 in University of Sahid Surakatra. Methods: This research used descriptive qualitative method. The data were used in this study was the result of observation and in-depth interviews gradually to Kalimantan and Java ethnic students of 2016/2017 in University of Sahid Surakatra. Result: The results of this study indicate that barriers to intercultural communication occured in Kalimantan and Java ethnic students of 2016/2017 at University of Sahid Surakatra are (1) the tendency to judge negative, (2) anxiety or high tension, (3) language differences (4) non-verbal misunderstanding (5) preconceptions and stereotypes and (6) assuming similarity. The Implementation of intercultural communication strategies in overcoming these barriers are (1) persuasive communication can be used when the barriers of language differences, the tendency tojudge negative, anxiety or high tension, and non-verbal misunderstanding. (2) informative communication can be used to the barriers of preconceptions and stereotypes and assuming similarity. (3) coercive communication sometimes uses for communication barriers of language differences.

Abstract

Sahid University of Surakarta, 2016. Internet is basically a medium that can help the communication process to be efficient, since the Internet is a medium that can be accessed anywhere anytime. By looking at the benefits of information technology, Sahid Univerisity of Surakarta build an online media application that has been widely used by agencies and educational institutions in providing information and make the application as a media promotions. This research aimed to analyze the usage of website as a media promotion and information provider in Sahid University Surakarta. The methodology used in this research is qualitative descriptive, The main objective of this study is to explain how the university take advantage of the website, as a media provider of information and promotion as well as to provide information to stakeholders Sahid University Surakarta both internally and externally. The Results of this research was the use of the website as a media provider of information and promotion of Sahid University Surakarta. Further expected, USS website can appear more attractive in order to compete with other university websites to maximize the display and optimize the function menu website as a media provider of information and promotion by running a variety of content variants (Adversity Content) are integrated with the online social networking available, eventually a brand can reach a broad community.

Abstract

Communication is currently one of the main individual factors to remain adaptable and acknowledged. Communication changes in accordance with their needs. The reasons relate to communicate need, communicate objectives, interests taken from communicating and the why a person should be sociable and communication are the developments in communication. Interpersonal communication is one ofinteract way ofPanti Asuhan Yatim Muhammadiyah Karanganyar (PAYM). Therefore, in dailycommunication will be found some resistance of communication.The aims of this study is to determine the resistance occured and to explain and also to describe strategies in overcoming the resistanc that happened in PAYM.This study useddescriptive qualitative method. The data used in this study was the result of observation, questionnaires and interviews to children at PAYM and documents that support the existence of the reformatory. The data analysis used was interactive data analysis model.The results of this study indicates that the resistanceoccurred in PAYM are (1) Prejudice, (2) Messaging, (3) Feedback, (4) Semantics, (5) Symbol (6) Psychological, (7) Physical. The implementation of the strategy of handling these resistance can be shown by: (1) Trust strategy can be used toward prejudice and semantics resistance, (2) Means strategy it can be used in physical resistance, (3) Clarity strategieswas useful in messaging, symbol , prejudice, physical, and psychological, (4) Consistency strategyis used when physical semantic and psychological arise, (5) Ability strategycan be used when physical resistance exist, (6) Context strategy is helpful in symbol, physical, feedback occurs resistance and (7) Content strategy can be used when physical barriers and message delivery occurs

Abstract

Dinas Pariwisata, Kebudayaan, Pemuda dan Olah Raga (DISPARBUDPORA) Magetan Regency as an institution that regulates all matters relating to tourism in Magetan regency is actively carry out development in the tourism sector in order to boost the conservation of tourism objects, empower the potential around the tourism object and conduct promotions to optimize the tourism sector in attracting investors as well as attracting more visitors. The purpose of this research is to find out the correlation between interpersonal communication that happened to Dinas Pariwisata, Kebudayaan, Pemuda dan Olah Raga of Magetan with performance of employee. Methods in this study using quantitative methods by distributing questionnaires to employees of the Dinas Pariwisata, Kebudayaan, Pemuda dan Olah Raga, with the results of research that together interpersonal communication between employees have a significant effect on employee performance on the Department of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Magetan Regency Sport with F count of 5,808 and significance 0.01, where the significance value 0.01 <0.05, it is concluded that the dependentvariable influence simultaneously to independent variable, and interpersonal communication between employee and employee performance have partially positive effect.

Abstract

The aims of this research is to explain the effectiveness of the use of facebook as the media in disseminating information on Solo Last Friday Ride Community. ThisResearch belongs to a descriptive quantitative study, the data obtained used questionnaires methods. This research used random sampling purposive sampling, the sample of the reseach is members of the community, it’s about 10,000 members. Moreover sampling used a formula developed by Slovin with significant levels of 10%. It obtained a value of samples with N = 10,000, with a 10% error level obtained a sample value 100 members. This research was descriptive quantitative analysis gives an overview of the condition of the object without making a comparison. Analysis of univariate analysis was used by calculating the frequency distribution of each variable are examined. Base on research and discussion, it can be concluded that the effectiveness of Community Facebook account Solo Last Friday Ride Community in spreading information is categorized as effective. This is due to the fact that of all the variableused to measure the effectiveness of facebook on Solo Last Friday Ride shows the percentage above 80%. Facebook is still regarded as an effective means for community members Solo Last Friday Ride, because the content of what is posted by assessed the informationsubmitted to the Member that is clear, the update and in accordance with the contents of the message.

Abstract

Based on the results of research and analysis that have been done, it can be concluded that the interpersonal communication barrier faced by Peksos at PM in thedominant Women's Institution "Wanodyatama" Institution include: (1) Communicant and (2) Psychological. The strategy in implementing interpersonal communication applied by Peksos to the PM in the Women's Care Institution "Wanodyatama" Surakarta include Credibility, Channels of Distribution, Content, Clarity, Continuity and Consistency, and Capability of Audience (Ability of Communicant). If sorted, strategies often applied by Peksos to PM in Panti are (1) Clarity, (2) Capability of Audience, (3) Channels of Distribution, (4) Credibility, , (5) Content, and (6) Continuity and Consistency .

Abstract

Nilai-nilai kekerasan yang digambarkan melalui perilaku kekerasan pada sinetron “anak Jalanan” dan mengetahui apa pesan yang ingin disampaikan dalam sinetron Anak Jalanan”. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kualitatif yang memefokuskan pada analisis simiotika yang dikembangkan oleh Ronald Barthes. Analisi dilakukan melalui tiga tahap yaitu level denotasi, level konotasi, dan mitos, kemudian dikembangkan menjadi pengelompokkan nilai-nilai kekerasan. Hasil dari penelitian terhadap sinetron “AnakJalanan” produksi Sinemart ini, terdapat banyak adengan yang mengarah pada reperesentasi nilai-nilai kekerasan, dimana hampir keseluruhan nilai-nilai kekerasan ada. Jenis kekerasan pertama kali dikelompokan menjadi kekerasan verbal dan non verbal yang selanjutnya dikelompokkan dalam berbagai bentuk kekerasan. Kekerasan fisik terlihat pada gambar 2.11, 2.12, 2.13, 2.14, 2.17, dan 2.18. Kekerasan psikologi ditunjukkan pada gambar 2.3, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, dan 2.9. Kekerasan seksual ditunjukkan pada gambar 2.19. Kekerasan vinansial diperlihatkan pada gambar 2.14 dan 2.17. Kekerasan fungsional diperlihatkan pada adegan gambar 2.2, 2.5, 2.15 dan 2.16. Kekerasan rasional ditunjukkan pada gambar 2.10. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa sinetron “Anak Jalanan” memiliki nilai-nilai kekerasan yang digambarkan melalui tindakkan kekerasan dan pesan yang ingin disampaikan adalah jadilah anak muda yang baik, yang beretika dan berintelektual.

Abstract

Komunikasi antar pribadi adalah penyampaian informasi berupa kata-kata kepada penerima dengan menggunakan medium suara manusia. Dalam proses penyampaian informasi terdapat gangguan yang dapat menyebabkan kegagalan komunikasi. Sedangkan retardasi mental adalah keterbatasan kemampuan yang diakibatkan oleh gangguan yang bermakna dalam intelegensi terukur dan perilaku penyesuaian diri (adaptif). Fenomena keberadaan anak retardasi mental di lingkungan sekitar menjadi menarik untuk diteliti. Penelitian komunikasi antar pribadi anak retardasi mental penting untuk diteliti karena komunikasi sangat berpengaruh terhadap interaksi sosial dalam menjalankan kehidupan sosial. Penulis memilih lokasi penelitian di SDLB NegeriColomadu karena letak sekolah yang strategis yakni berada di perbatasan berbagai Kabupaten. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui model komunikasi antar pribadi siswa retardasi mental di SDLB Negeri Colomadu dalam berinteraksi sosial dengan teman, orang tua dan lingkungansekitarnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data primer penelitian ini adalah kata-kata dan tindakan siswa ketika berkomunikasi dan berinteraksi dengan orang lain, data dihimpun melalui observasi dan didukung data sekunder dengan wawancara terhadap informan yang bersangkutan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi antar pribadi anak retardasi mental terjalin tanpa hambatan ketika berkomunikasi dengan komunikan yang memiliki kedudukan yang sederajat yaitu dengan teman di sekolah yang sama-sama memiliki kebutuhan khusus. Sedangkan komunikasi dengan orang tua, guru dan lingkungan sekitar terdapat beberapa kendala seperti ketidakpahaman komunikan terhadap informasi yang disampaikan anak retardasi mental. Anak retardasi mental mampu berinteraksi sosial dengan pola imitasi, yakni meniru apa yang dilihat orang lain.Namun anak retardasi mental tidak dapat melakukan interaksi sosial secara maksimal dikarenakan hambatan komunikasi dan keterbasan intelegensi yang rendah.

Abstract

Lesbian is a social phenomenon that cannot be denied. The existence of lesbian is recognized as a reality in the society and raise various reaction from the surrounding area. The denial from the surroundingand wider area made the lesbian feel afraid, doubtful, and even ashamed toshow their true sexual identity. Thus became a persecutor to communicatewith the society. The communication involved between the lesbian and thesociety is not easy, it needs process that the communication can be doneand in the end the lesbian existence can be admitted or accepted by thesurrounding area in such way that create the mutual understandingcommunication.To get the admission of their existence as a lesbian in thesurrounding society, the lesbian have to get involved in personalcommunication process. When the lesbian stated their selves and interactthrough interpersonal communication, certainly there is a distinctivepressure in deciding what will be stated and what should be under the rose.The research concerning lesbian interpersonal communication in“Belok” community at Solo City is a descriptive qualitative research. Theprocess in conducting this research emphasized in qualitative research. Inorder to be done further, this research was focused on the symbolicinteraction done by the lesbian about their selves and then observes howthe lesbian community interacts with the surrounding society which isformed into their interpersonal communication using socio-cultural method
