Abstract

Jagung manis (Zea mays saccharata Sturt.) merupakan komoditas pertanian yang sangat penting. Produksi jagung pada tahun 2023 mengalami penurunan dibandingkan tahun 2022. Penurunan produksi jagung tersebut dikarenakan salah satunya disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor, salahsatunya pemupukan. Pemupukan merupakan aspek penting dalam suatu budidaya tanaman dalam mencapai hasil pertumbuhan dan panen yang optimal tidak terkecuali tanaman jagung. Salah solusi dari permasalahan tersebut yaitu mengkombinasikan pupuk organik dan pupuk kimia, salah satunya dengan penggunaan biochar dan eco-enzyme sebagai bahan pelengkap pemupukan tanaman. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Kelompok Lengkap (RAKL) faktorial dengan dua faktor yaitu dosis nano biochar (K) dengan 3 taraf yaitu V1 : 0 kg/ha (kontrol), V2 : 50 kg/ha, V3 : 100 kg/ha dan V4 : 150 kg/ha. Faktor kedua yaitu konsentrasi eco-enzyme (E) dengan 3 taraf yaitu : E1 : 0 ml/L (kontrol), E2 : 1 ml/L dan E3 : 2 ml/L. Didapatkan bahwa tidak terdapat interaksi antara dosis nano biochar dengan konsentrasi eco-enzyme terhadap pertumbuhan fase vegetatif tanaman jagung. Pemberian perlakuan dosis nano biochar berpengaruh nyata pada pembentukkan diameter batang jagung pada umur 6 MST khususnya pada taraf perlakuan 150 kg/ha (V4). Abstract

Mulberry (Morus alba L.) is an important commodity in the silkworm farming industry and has high economic value, thus requiring efficient propagation techniques. Vegetative propagation through stem cuttings is often constrained by a low success rate of root formation. IBA (Indole Butyric Acid), as a synthetic auxin hormone, plays a significant role in stimulating root development in plants. This study aims to determine the effect of concentration and soaking duration of the plant growth regulator Indole Butyric Acid (IBA) on the growth enhancement of mulberry (Morus alba L.) stem cuttings. The research was conducted at the Seed House of the Experimental Garden, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Muria Kudus, located in Gondangmanis Village, Bae Sub-district, Kudus Regency, from May to July 2024. The study employed a Completely Randomized Block Design (CRBD) consisting of two factors with three replications. The first factor was IBA concentration (K), namely K1 (100 ppm), K2 (200 ppm), and K3 (300 ppm). The second factor was soaking duration (L), namely L1 (60 minutes) and L2 (120 minutes). The results showed that different concentrations of Indole Butyric Acid had an effect on root length, time of bud emergence, and shoot length at 3 weeks after planting (WAP), while soaking duration influenced root length. A significant interaction between IBA concentration and soaking duration was observed on root length.

Abstract

Populasi tanaman kawista saat ini semakin menurun, karena itu diperlukan upaya peningkatan populasi yang diawali dengan pembibitan yang baik. Namun, informasi teknologi pembibitan kawista masih terbatas. Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh media tanam dan dosis pupuk pospat terhadap pertumbuhan bibit kawista. Penelitian merupakan percobaan faktorial dengan rancangan acak lengkap. Faktor pertama kombinasi media tanam, terdiri tiga taraf yaitu tanah: pasir (1:1); tanah: pupuk kandang sapi (1:1); dan tanah: pasir: pupuk kandang sapi (1:1:1). Faktor kedua dosis pospat, terdiri empat dosis yaitu 0 g P2O5 /polibag; 2,5 g P2O5/polibag; 5 g P2O5/polibag;dan (4) 7,5 g P2O5/polibag. Pengamatan dilakukan terhadap pertambahan tinggi bibit, diameter batang, dan jumlah daun majemuk, serta jumlah daun total, bobot segar akar, bobot kering akar, panjang akar primer, bobot kering tajuk, bobot kering total bibit. Data dianalisis dengan Anova dan dilanjutkan Uji Jarak Berganda Duncan 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penambahan pupuk kandang sapi pada media tanam meningkatkan pertumbuhan bibit kawista yang ditunjukkan pada pengamatan pertambahan diameter batang, pertambahan jumlah daun majemuk, jumlah daun total, dan bobot segar akar. Meskipun penambahan pupuk kandang sapi tidak nyata meningkatkan bobot kering total bibit, namun bobot kering bibit meningkat 14,14% bila dibandingkan tanpa pupuk kandang sapi. Pemberian pupuk pospat meningkatkan pertumbuhan bibit kawista dibandingkan tanpa pupuk pospat. Dosis pupuk P yang direkomendasikan untuk pembibitan kawista adalah 5 g P2O5/polibag yang secara konsisten memberikan pertambahan tinggi bibit, pertambahan diameter batang, bobot segar akar, bobot kering akar, bobot kering tajuk, dan bobot kering total lebih tinggi dibandingkan dosis 2,5 dan 7,5 g P2O5/polibag.

Abstract

Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) is a horticultural plant that has many benefits. Efforts to increase the productivity of baby cucumbers by using environmentally friendly fertilizers in the form of moringa leaf liquid organic fertilizer and gibberellin hormone to accelerate the flowering period. Purpose of the study was to determine the growth and yield of baby cucumber plants by giving several concentrations of moringa leaf POC and gibberellin hormone. The research method was a two-factor Completely Randomized Block Design (CRBD) and one control. First factor is the concentration of moringa leaf organic fertilizer150 ml/L, 200 ml/L, and 250 ml/L, second factor is concentration of gibberellin 200, 250, and 300 ppm. The control treatment was NPK fertilizer (16:16:16). Data analysis used variance analysis at the 5% level and continued with DMRT test at the 5% level, to determine the real difference between the control and the treatment combination with orthogonal contrast test. The results showed there was an effect on the treatment of moringa leaf organic fertilizer concentration of 150 ml/L water and gibberellin hormone concentration of 200 ppm on the parameters of of days to appear flowers and fresh fruit weight per plant

Abstract

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is one of the main food crops in Indonesia whose productivity is often reduced due to pest attacks, particularly rice bugs (Leptocorisa oratorius). Pest control is generally carried out using synthetic pesticides which may cause negative environmental impacts. Therefore, environmentally friendly alternatives such as botanical pesticides are needed. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of tobacco extract in controlling rice bugs under in vitro conditions. The study was conducted at the Integrated Laboratory of the Agrotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Pasir Pengaraian, from August to September 2025. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one factor was used consisting of four treatments: K0 = 0%, K1 = 10%, K2 = 20%, and K3 = 30% tobacco extract. Observed parameters included mortality, mortality rate, and feeding inhibition of rice bugs. The results showed that tobacco extract significantly affected all observed parameters. The best treatment was obtained at 30% concentration (K3), resulting in 74.44% mortality, 0.74 insects/hour mortality rate, and 63.48% feeding inhibition. Increasing tobacco extract concentration increased mortality, mortality rate, and feeding inhibition of rice bugs. Tobacco extract has potential as an effective and environmentally friendly botanical pesticide for controlling rice bug pests in rice cultivation. Abstract

An increase in waste in the agricultural sector, such as tofu dregs waste, and in the industrial sector, such as sawmill waste, can cause environmental pollution problems. So an effort is needed to utilize this waste by making it a growing medium for white oyster mushrooms enriched with rice bran as additional nutrition. This research aimed to determine the production of white oyster mushrooms on teak wood powder media enriched with tofu dregs waste & rice bran. This research was carried out in Hadipolo Village, Jekulo District, Kudus Regency. This research used a factorial Complete Randomized Group Design (RAKL) with 2 factors. The first factor: the effect of rice bran (B) consists of 4 levels, namely 0% rice bran from sawdust (B1), 10% rice bran (B2), 20% rice bran (B3), 30% rice bran (B4). Second factor: the effect of tofu dregs (A) consists of 4, namely 0% tofu dregs waste from sawdust (A1), 5% tofu dregs (A2), 10% tofu dregs (A3), and 15% tofu dregs (A4). The observation data is processed using analysis of variance (Analysis of Variance) if there is a significant difference followed by Duncan's Multiple Distance Test (UJBD) at the 5% level. The research results showed that various doses of rice bran significantly affected the speed of mycelium growth, the first appearance of fruit bodies, the number of fruit bodies, the fresh weight of mushrooms during three harvest periods, and the total fresh weight of mushrooms. Meanwhile, various doses of tofu dregs waste significantly affected the speed of mycelium growth, fresh weight of second-harvest mushrooms, and total fresh weight of mushrooms. The best growth and results were obtained from the treatment of giving 20% ​​rice bran from sawdust and giving 15% tofu dregs waste from sawdust (B3A4).

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of shoot pruning time and cytokinin concentration on the growth and yield of bird’s eye chili (Capsicum frutescens L.). The experiment was conducted in Undaan Tengah Village, Undaan District, Kudus Regency, from September 2023 to January 2024. A factorial Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with two factors and three replications was employed. The first factor was shoot pruning time (P), consisting of three levels: no pruning (P0), pruning at 15 days after planting (DAP) (P1), and pruning at 30 DAP (P2). The second factor was cytokinin concentration (S), consisting of three levels: no cytokinin application (S0), 25 ppm cytokinin (S1), and 50 ppm cytokinin (S2). The observed data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% significance level. The results showed that shoot pruning time significantly affected the number of branches, days to flowering, fresh fruit weight per plant, and number of fruits per plant. In contrast, cytokinin application had no significant effect on all observed parameters. No interaction effect was observed between the two treatments.

Abstract

Cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) is a plantation commodity with high economic value. The characteristics of cocoa cultivation include the methods or techniques applied in cocoa plantations. This study aims to collect data on the characteristics of cultivation on smallholder cocoa plantations in Dawe District, Kudus Regency. This study was conducted from January to March 2026 using a survey method through interviews with cocoa farmers, followed by direct data collection in the field using a purposive sampling method with the criteria of respondents having cocoa land area > 0.1 ha. The data collected include the characteristics of cocoa cultivation techniques, namely aspects of plant material (type of plant material/clone and its origin), land preparation aspects (planting distance, planting holes, and shade plants), maintenance aspects (fertilization, pruning, and sanitation), pest and disease control aspects (types of pests and diseases that attack and the types of control), and harvest aspects. The data obtained were analyzed and presented descriptively. The results of the study indicate that respondents (cocoa farmers) in Dawe District, Kudus Regency, have not implemented cocoa cultivation techniques optimally, as indicated by the low cocoa production in the region (less than 3 kg/tree/year).

Abstract

Penurunan mutu fisiologis benih cabai rawit kedaluwarsa memerlukan teknologi yang mampu mempertahankan efektivitas agen hayati selama penyimpanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh masa simpan bioenkapsulasi rizobakteri indigenous, pengaruh perbedaan isolat, serta interaksi keduanya terhadap viabilitas dan vigor benih cabai rawit (Capsicum frutescens L.) kedaluwarsa. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial 3 × 6 dengan tiga ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah masa simpan bioenkapsulasi selama 2, 4, dan 6 minggu, sedangkan faktor kedua adalah isolat rizobakteri yang terdiri atas kontrol, BB 7/1, GB 7/1, BB 7/3, BB 4/1, dan GB 4/4. Bioenkapsulasi yang telah disimpan sesuai perlakuan kemudian didekapsulasi, dan larutannya digunakan untuk merendam benih selama 24 jam sebelum dikecambahkan menggunakan metode Uji Kertas Digulung Didirikan (UKdD). Parameter yang diamati meliputi potensi tumbuh maksimum, daya berkecambah, kecepatan tumbuh, keserempakan tumbuh, mean germination time, dan panjang akar. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masa simpan bioenkapsulasi dan perbedaan isolat berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap seluruh parameter yang diamati. Interaksi kedua faktor berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap daya berkecambah, kecepatan tumbuh, keserempakan tumbuh, mean germination time, dan panjang akar, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap potensi tumbuh maksimum. Isolat GB 7/1 memberikan performa terbaik dalam mempertahankan viabilitas dan vigor benih, sedangkan isolat BB 4/1 menghasilkan panjang akar tertinggi.
