AL GHAZALI: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Pemikiran Islam adalah jurnal ilmiah yang diterbitkan oleh Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam (STAI) Al Jami Banjarmasin. Jurnal ini dikhususkan untuk memuat tulisan dalam bentuk hasil penelitian pendidikan Islam, atau gagasan tertulis dalam bentuk karya ilmiah dengan bidang kajian yang serumpun. Tujuan dari jurnal ini adalah untuk menampung ide dan gagasan tentang pendidikan Islam dan untuk memudahkan sivitas akademika pada umumnya untuk memperoleh angka kredit dalam menunjang eksistensinya di dunia akademik. Semua artikel yang diterbitkan adalah wawasan dan ide individu dari penulis yang tidak mewakili jurnal ini atau lembaga afiliasi penulis. Abstract

This research explores the crucial role of educators in shaping students' interest in reading with a focus on creating a conducive learning environment. A conducive learning environment is a key factor in stimulating students' reading interest and assisting them in developing sustainable reading habits. In this context, the role of teachers as primary facilitators in creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment for reading interest becomes highly significant. This study outlines strategies and practices that educators can employ to create a conducive learning environment for the development of students' reading interest. Through this approach, a significant increase in students' participation in reading activities and improvement in their overall literacy is expected

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi beberapa permasalahan dalam pembelajaran anak usia dini, seperti kurangnya sarana dan prasarana, metode dan media pembelajaran yang digunakan juga masih tergolong tradisional dan kurang variatif, sehingga perlu dikaji lebih mendalam mengenai efektivitas pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan di PAUD. Media digital telah menjadi bagian integral dari kehidupan saat ini. Guru PAUD perlu untuk mengaplikasikan media digital pada pembelajaran yang dilakukan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektifitas penggunaan media digital dalam pembelajaran anak usia dini di PAUD Idola Desa Amawang Kiri. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Penggunaan media digital dalam bentuk aplikasi edukatif, video pembelajaran interaktif, dan e-book interaktif di PAUD Idola Desa Amawang Kiri dapat secara signifikan meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran anak usia dini. Dengan menggunakan media digital yang tepat, PAUD Idola Desa Amawang Kiri dapat menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang lebih menarik, efektif, dan holistik bagi anak-anak usia dini, sekaligus meminimalisir potensi dampak negatif dari penggunaan media digital.

Abstract

Islamic boarding school evaluation management in historical perspective is an interesting topic to research considering that Islamic boarding schools as typical traditional Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia must adapt to the massive challenges of the times due to the rapid flow of technology and information. This research was conducted to see the history of Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia, and to see how Islamic boarding schools should respond to the challenges of the times. This research was carried out by means of a literature study, using historical research methods, including heuristics, criticism, interpretation and historiography. Islamic boarding school evaluation management has historically been marked by the spread and development of Islam in the archipelago, one of which is the existence of the Quro Islamic Boarding School in Karawang Regency. The challenge that must be faced is to review the Islamic Boarding School Law and be able to utilize this policy both for Islamic boarding school institutions and for the economic independence of the community.

Abstract

This research aims to describe students' spiritual values, explore PAI teachers' strategies for developing spiritual values, and identify the challenges faced in developing spiritual values ​​at Al Munawwir South Sangatta Middle School. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection through interviews, observation and documentation in the school environment.  The research results show that students at Al Munawwir Sangatta Selatan Middle School show good spiritual intelligence through polite behaviour, discipline, and enthusiasm for religious learning. PAI teachers play an important role as motivators and role models in developing students' spiritual intelligence, using strategies such as positive habits, lectures and competitions. However, there are challenges such as lack of time and curriculum pressures that limit in-depth spiritual development. This research makes a new contribution to the literature by highlighting the need for a comprehensive approach to integrating spiritual values ​​into the PAI curriculum. Practical implications include the need for more support for teachers in developing innovative strategies that can increase students' spiritual intelligence in schools.

Abstract

The family as the first educational environment is very influential in shaping children's personality patterns. It is in the family that children are first introduced to values ​​and norms. Family education provides the basic knowledge and skills, religion and beliefs, moral values, social norms and outlook on life that children need. This research aims to determine the influence of the family environment on the morals of class IX students at MTs Negeri 1 Cilacap. This research uses quantitative research with data collection techniques namely observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The subjects in this research were class IX students of MTs Negeri 1 Cilacap. Meanwhile, the object of this research is the influence of the family environment on the morals of class IX students at MTs Negeri 1 Cilacap. The type of research carried out is field research with a quantitative approach.  The results of this research show that there is an influence of the family environment on the morals of class IX students at MTs Negeri 1 Cilacap. The results of the Pearson correlation r = 0.49 which can be categorized as MEDIUM based on the coefficient interpretation table. For the value of the determination coefficient, the value obtained is r = 0.49.  KP = 〖0.49〗^2= 0.2401 then, KP X 100% = 0.2401× 100% = 24.01%. So, this figure shows that the contribution (contribution) of the influence of the family environment on student morals is 24.01%. In the sense that the other 75.99% is influenced by other variables that were not observed in this study

Abstract

This study examines the integration of Islamic Religious Education (IRE), Islamic Psychology, and Neuroscience as a holistic approach to developing faith-based character. To date, character education has tended to emphasize cognitive and moral aspects while overlooking Islamic psychological dimensions and the biological foundations that influence human behavioral development. Through theoretical analysis, this study demonstrates that IRE plays a fundamental role in instilling the values of creed, worship, and ethics; Islamic Psychology provides a framework for understanding human psychological dynamics based on the concepts of fitrah, qalb, and nafs; while Neuroscience explains the neurobiological processes that contribute to habit formation, self-control, and the internalization of values. The integration of these three disciplines produces a more comprehensive character education model by combining spiritual foundations, psychological understanding, and the mechanisms of brain function. The findings highlight the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration in developing learning strategies that not only cultivate intellectual intelligence but also strengthen students’ faith, morality, and psychological well-being. These insights are expected to serve as a reference for educators in designing curricula and learning methods that are more effective and oriented toward holistic character formation.

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth the concepts of love and compassion in learning from the perspectives of the Qur’an and Hadith and their relevance to contemporary pedagogical practices at SMAN Banjarbaru. The research focuses on how the values of rahmah (compassion), mahabbah (constructive love), and rifq (gentleness) are internalized in the learning process and their implications for character formation, classroom climate, and teacher–student relationships. The methodology employed is a qualitative approach with a field study design, using participant observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and analysis of learning documents. The data were analyzed through thematic analysis and source triangulation to ensure the validity and reliability of the findings. The findings indicate that the implementation of love and compassion values in learning significantly contributes to increased learning motivation, psychological safety, awareness-based discipline, and the strengthening of students’ social and religious character. However, the study also reveals structural and cultural challenges, such as the dominance of cognitively oriented learning paradigms, limited teacher training in humanistic pedagogy, and academic performance pressures that hinder the internalization of spiritual values in daily learning practices. This study concludes that love and compassion should be positioned as a core paradigm in education rather than merely a methodological approach, in order to develop a humanistic, transformative learning model oriented toward the development of a progressive, ethical, and civilized society

Abstract

This study examines the concept of “fear” from the perspective of the Qur’an and Hadith through semantic, theological, and spiritual analysis, focusing on the terms khauf, khasyyah, and rahbah. The study reveals that fear in Islam is not merely an emotional reaction but a multidimensional spectrum with moral, spiritual, and social functions. Khauf represents basic fear of punishment and sin, rahbah reflects fear combined with spiritual longing, while khasyyah is a transcendental fear arising from knowledge and reverence of Allah. This hierarchy forms the structure of a servant’s spiritual journey from self-awareness to divine consciousness. The findings highlight that balanced fear promotes sincere obedience, self-discipline, and spiritual maturity, whereas misinterpretation can lead to extremism. Understanding the concept of fear correctly is essential for fostering moderate and harmonious Islamic spirituality.

Abstract

This study aims to quantitatively analyze the correlation between the implementation of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) policy and the development of tolerant attitudes among secondary school students. The research is grounded in the importance of religious education in shaping students’ character and promoting religious moderation amid the rising cases of intolerance. A correlational quantitative method was employed using a Likert-scale questionnaire that measured both the implementation level of IRE policy and students’ tolerance attitudes. The sample was selected through simple random sampling from several secondary schools. The findings indicate a positive and significant correlation between IRE policy implementation and students’ tolerance levels, with dialogical learning and teacher role modeling emerging as dominant factors. These results highlight the importance of comprehensive implementation of IRE policy in fostering tolerant and moderate students

Abstract

Indonesia, as a multicultural country, has a variety of traditions in the implementation of customary weddings. One of these is the baantaran jujuran tradition practiced by the Banjar community. Baantaran jujuran is a ceremony in which the groom’s family formally hands over the jujuran money to the bride’s family, a process that is rich with Islamic educational values. Therefore, the objective of this study is to analyze the Islamic educational values contained within the baantaran jujuran tradition. This research employs field research with a descriptive qualitative approach and is located in Sungai Gampa Village, Rantau Badauh District. The data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings are as follows: (1) Baantaran jujuran is a ceremony for the formal handover of jujuran money, the amount of which has been mutually agreed upon by both parties. Jujuran refers to a sum of wealth given by the groom’s family to the bride’s family as part of the marriage process. During this ceremony, various offerings or gifts are also presented; (2) The Islamic educational values contained in the baantaran jujuran tradition include values of tawhid, worship, morality, and social education. The value of tawhid education is reflected in the recitation of the two declarations of faith (syahadat). The value of worship education is reflected in the recitation of prayers and shalawat. The moral education value can be seen in the giving of offerings (gifts), which represents the responsibility of a husband. Lastly, the social education value is reflected in the mutual deliberation and strengthening of ties between both families as well as with surrounding neighbors. This study is important because it highlights the internalization between Islamic educational values and local traditions, while also serving as an effort to preserve national culture so that it does not fade with the progress of time
