Abstract

Objective: This research aims to describe quality control related to damage in returned goods, identify quality control implementation using the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) method. Method: To address these issues, the company implemented strategies such as fishbone diagram analysis and the 5 Why analysis, and developed a Work Instruction (WI) as a standard operating guideline to support comprehensive quality control improvements. Results: The results of the study indicate that the primary causes of damage to returned goods include improper use of hand pallets and an overloaded warehouse, leading to limited and inaccessible storage space. In addition, ineffective communication also contributes to the high number of returned goods. Novelty: The company has obtained ISO 9001 certification, which focuses on quality management systems, as evidence of its commitment to implementing quality control standards. However, in practice, the quality control implementation at this company has not been optimal. This is evident from the high rate of damage in returned goods, which exceeds the annual target limit of 90 cartons out of the total returned items received.

Abstract

Objective:  This study aims to measure and compare the Value at Risk (VaR) between single stocks and a portfolio within the LQ45 index using the Variance-Covariance method. Method: Daily closing prices of three companies—PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BBRI), PT Bank Central Asia (BBCA), and PT Astra International (ASII)—from January to October 2024 were analyzed. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test confirmed the normal distribution of returns, validating the use of the Variance-Covariance approach. Risk for individual stocks was calculated using standard deviation, while portfolio risk incorporated covariance between asset returns. Results: The results show VaR values of Rp3,057,807 (BBRI), Rp2,243,478 (BBCA), and Rp2,928,485 (ASII) for single stocks, while the combined portfolio had a lower VaR of Rp1,985,061. Novelty: These findings indicate that diversification effectively reduces investment risk. The study provides practical insights for investors aiming to manage potential losses through portfolio construction.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to develop a scientifically grounded methodology for assessing and managing the economic potential of manufacturing enterprises undergoing structural, technological, and institutional transformations. Method: The research employs the principal component method and correlation-regression analysis to identify key indicators reflecting the structural transformation process. Empirical data from multiple enterprises over five years were analyzed using SPStatistics to construct correlation matrices and reduce variables to the most informative set. Results: Factor analysis revealed that the receivables-to-payables ratio and capital autonomy exert the most significant influence on overall economic potential. These indicators enable enterprise managers to make data-driven decisions, enhance structural efficiency, and improve competitiveness. Novelty: The study introduces an adaptive and comprehensive approach that integrates modern quantitative techniques into a practical framework for evaluating and managing economic potential. This methodology facilitates simplification of complex economic assessments and supports strategic adaptation, including digital transformation, in a dynamic economic environment.

Abstract

Objective:  This study aims to analyze the influence of bureaucratic and governance reforms, human resource (HR) strengthening, and digitization and information technology on the realization of a superior Civil Service (ASN), with employee motivation as a mediating variable. Method: The study was conducted within the Directorate General of Budget (DJA) of the Ministry of Finance, using a quantitative approach with the Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method. Data was collected through a questionnaire administered to 344 DJA employees. Results: The results of the hypothesis testing indicate that bureaucratic reform and governance (β = 0.178; t = 2.326), HR strengthening (β = 0.394; t = 4.704), and digitalization (β = 0.164; t = 1.948) have a significant positive effect on employee motivation. Employee motivation also significantly influences high-quality civil service human resources (β = 0.372; t = 7.278). Additionally, employee motivation significantly mediates the relationship between the three independent variables and high-quality civil service human resources, although the indirect effect of digitalization is relatively smaller (β = 0.061; t = 1.870). Novelty: These findings confirm that the success of bureaucratic transformation is not only determined by technical policies but also by psychological aspects such as work motivation. This study contributes to the development of public sector human resource management policies based on strengthening employees' intrinsic and extrinsic motivation.

Abstract

Objective: This study proposes an integrative model that combines Time-Driven Activity-Based Costing (TDABC) and the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) to strengthen financial decision-making and organizational performance in healthcare institutions. Method: A mixed-methods research approach was applied, incorporating qualitative case studies and quantitative techniques, including regression analysis and Monte Carlo simulations, to evaluate the impact of the TDABC-BSC integration. Results: The findings demonstrate a 20% reduction in patient service costs, a 27.7% improvement in financial sustainability, and a 23.6% increase in resource utilization efficiency. However, implementation resistance (40%) and data availability constraints (25%) highlight the need for strategic planning, standardized reporting, and AI-driven predictive analytics. Novelty: This research provides the first empirical framework demonstrating the effectiveness of integrating TDABC with BSC for achieving financial sustainability and strategic performance alignment in healthcare organizations, offering actionable insights for administrators, policymakers, and researchers.

Abstract

Objective: This study examines how hybrid organizational models contribute to achieving strategic authenticity within Iraq’s private higher education sector, with a particular focus on institutions in Dhi Qar Governorate. Method: Using institutional and organizational theory as the framework, the study employed a questionnaire distributed to 200 deans, associate deans, and department heads across private universities and colleges. Structural equation modeling (SEM) and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted to assess the relationships among hybrid organizational logics, authenticity, strategic adaptation, and organizational performance, confirming strong construct validity. Results: Findings indicate that hybrid logics are moderately embedded within private institutions, yet authenticity and strategic adaptation remain underdeveloped, limiting their positive influence on performance. Notably, strategic adaptation emerged as a significant mechanism that enables institutions to balance academic integrity with market demands. Novelty: This research extends organizational theory by demonstrating the applicability of hybrid organizational models in conflict-prone higher education systems and highlights the need for value-based leadership and adaptive governance to enhance legitimacy, flexibility, and sustainability within Iraq’s volatile private higher education environment.
