Abstract

General Background: Effective warehouse management is critical for ensuring rapid and efficient logistics operations, especially in disaster response scenarios. Specific Background: Dinas Sosial Provinsi Jawa Tengah, tasked with disaster management support, faces inefficiencies in its warehouse layout, where logistics goods are poorly organized, leading to delays and increased labor costs during the movement and retrieval of items. Knowledge Gap: Current literature lacks focused studies on optimizing government warehouses specifically for disaster response logistics using class-based storage methods. Aims: This study aims to redesign the warehouse layout of the Central Java Social Service using the class-based storage method to improve the efficiency of goods movement and minimize labor costs. Results: The proposed redesign organizes goods into three classes: Class A (Food), Class B (Evacuation Equipment and Family Supplies), and Class C (Blankets), with respective frequencies of 77.47%, 10.99%, and 4.54%. The new layout, based on these classifications, significantly enhances the efficiency of goods retrieval and movement, reducing labor costs. Novelty: This study applies the class-based storage method, traditionally used in commercial warehouses, to a public-sector disaster logistics context, showcasing its potential to improve operational efficiency in government-run facilities. Implications: The findings suggest that implementing class-based storage methods in government disaster warehouses can serve as a model for other regions to streamline logistics processes, potentially improving disaster response times and resource management.

Abstract

Background: National income in Islamic economics integrates principles of distributive justice, halal economic activities, and social welfare, aligning with sharia principles. Conventional economic approaches to national income measurement, such as Gross National Product (GNP), often overlook equitable income distribution and environmental impacts. Knowledge Gap: However, there is a lack of comprehensive understanding regarding how national income is conceptualized and measured within the framework of Islamic economics. Aims: This study aims to bridge this gap by exploring the concept of national income from an Islamic economic perspective, emphasizing the role of sharia principles in economic management. Results: The research reveals that, unlike conventional approaches, Islamic economics measures national income through economic activities that comply with sharia, including consumption, investment, and international trade, with a strong emphasis on justice, social welfare, and support for the economically disadvantaged. The study also underscores that Islamic economics incorporates spiritual and humanitarian dimensions in assessing economic well-being. Novelty: This research provides a fresh contribution to the literature by highlighting the significance of integrating sharia principles into the conceptualization and measurement of national income, an area previously underexplored. Implications: The findings suggest that adopting an Islamic economic perspective on national income could lead to more sustainable and meaningful economic outcomes, promoting equitable distribution, avoiding riba (usury) and speculation, and prioritizing the welfare of the weak. This study underscores the potential of Islamic economic principles to contribute to more just and prosperous economic systems.

Abstract

General Background: Cooperatives play a crucial role in enhancing member welfare, with factors like member performance, work motivation, and financial systems directly influencing outcomes. Specific Background: In Sharia-based cooperatives, the financing system adheres to Islamic principles, providing a distinct framework for assessing its impact on welfare. However, research on the combined effect of these variables in such cooperatives remains limited. Knowledge Gap: Despite the significance of performance and motivation in driving cooperative success, the relationship between these factors and welfare, alongside the role of the Sharia financing system, is underexplored in the cooperative context. Aims: This study aims to analyze the influence of member performance, work motivation, and the Sharia financing system on member welfare in the BMT Anugrah Cooperative, Cirebon. Results: A survey-based quantitative method was employed, with data collected from cooperative members and analyzed using multiple regression. Findings reveal that member performance and work motivation significantly and positively impact welfare. Additionally, the Sharia financing system contributes positively to welfare improvement. Novelty: This study highlights the critical role of the Sharia financing system, alongside performance and motivation, as key drivers of welfare in Sharia-compliant cooperatives, an area that has received limited attention in prior research. Implications: The results suggest that enhancing member performance and motivation, coupled with optimizing Sharia-based financial services, can serve as effective strategies for improving welfare. These insights offer valuable guidance for cooperative management in formulating policies aimed at sustainable welfare improvement in Sharia cooperatives.

Abstract

General Background: The planning of educators and education personnel plays a critical role in the effectiveness of educational institutions, especially in ensuring that human resources are aligned with institutional goals. Specific Background: At the Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Bone in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, this planning is essential to address the institution’s unique administrative and academic needs. Knowledge Gap: Despite its importance, there has been limited research that explores the detailed processes behind the planning of educational personnel, particularly in Islamic higher education institutions in Indonesia. Aims: This study aims to explore and describe the planning of educators and education personnel at IAIN Bone, using a qualitative approach to understand how institutional leaders coordinate and implement such plans. Results: The findings reveal that the planning process is comprehensive, involving an analysis of needs, problem identification, and data collection through leader coordination. Actions are executed based on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and solutions are collectively formulated to serve as future references. Novelty: The research provides new insights into the structured, SOP-based planning methods used at IAIN Bone, highlighting a collaborative approach that involves multiple stakeholders, which has not been widely documented in previous studies on educational personnel planning. Implications: These findings underscore the importance of structured, needs-based planning in educational institutions, offering a model that other Islamic institutions in similar contexts could adapt to improve human resource management and institutional efficiency.
