Abstract

The management of Hajj funds in Indonesia faces critical challenges in maintaining financial sustainability as rising pilgrimage costs outpace investment yields. Grounded in Modern Portfolio Theory and Arbitrage Pricing Theory, this study aims to analyze the transmission mechanisms linking asset allocation strategies specifically liquid Islamic banking instruments, long-term sukuk, and real-sector direct investments and systemic macroeconomic variables (inflation and the USD/IDR exchange rate) to BPKH's investment returns. Utilizing an Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) framework, this research analyzes quarterly data from 2018 to 2025. To ensure robustness despite a small finite sample size (N = 32), the structural model is verified using exact finite-sample critical bounds, while a structural break dummy is incorporated to capture the operational disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The findings reveal a long-term cointegration relationship with a high speed of adjustment toward equilibrium at 72% per quarter (ECT= -0.72). Placements in Islamic banking and early-lagged sukuk allocations provide stable, positive impacts on fund growth. Conversely, direct investments exhibit a long-term strategic paradox, yielding negative long-run coefficients due to high cross-border operational overhead and maintenance costs. Mechanistically, domestic inflation stands as the most destructive risk factor that directly devalues the real purchasing power of the returns, whereas exchange rate shocks remain transitory and mean-reverting. The novelty of this study lies in its dynamic, break-adjusted modeling that evaluates socio-religious portfolio resilience against global shocks. These findings provide critical policy implications for BPKH to transition toward active inflation-hedging and dual-currency matching strategies to ensure intergenerational equity and future financial independence.

Abstract

This study examines the role of local communities in agrarian conflict resolution in the emerging land area (Tanah Timbul) of Widarapayung, Cilacap, within the framework of local wisdom and environmental justice. Methodologically, the research employs a qualitative case study approach through in depth interviews with community leaders, farmers/fishers, village authorities, and relevant institutions; focus group discussions; participant observation; and document review. Data were analyzed thematically using source triangulation. The findings indicate that the community operates across three interrelated domains: (1) organizational strengthening as a space to build trust and channels of dialogue; (2) normative mediation that draws on the principles of maqaṣid al-syari’ah, ‘urf, and the ethics of hisbah to negotiate access rights, boundaries, and the governance of the emerging land; and (3) ecological practices rooted in local wisdom, such as gotong royong (mutual cooperation), prohibitions against overexploitation, and coastal vegetation rehabilitation, which foster co-management schemes and adaptive land-use arrangements. The integration of these three domains reduces conflict escalation, produces fairer benefit-sharing agreements, and strengthens the protection of coastal ecological functions. This study contributes to the literature on coastal agrarian conflicts by offering a community-based resolution model that is both contextual and replicable, and recommends strengthening collaboration among village institutions, civil society organizations, religious groups, and government actors within the framework of environmental justice.

Abstract

This research entitled A Qualitative Study on the Dynamics of Direct Feedback from Supervisors on Employee Performance. Improvement at PT Wangsa Jatra Lestari is a study that discusses the Role of direct feedback from supervisors in supporting employee performance. improvement. It aims to observe: (1) the forms and processes of direct feedback provided by supervisors to employees; (2) the factors influencing the effectiveness of feedback in improving performance.; and (3) employees’ perceptions toward the feedback received. This qualitative research used a case study approach and the data were collected through in-depth interviews and documentation. The informants consisted of management and employees who were directly involved in the feedback process. The data validity was tested using credibility and source triangulation. The data analysis technique was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions systematically. The results of this research showed that direct feedback from supervisors plays an important Role in improving employee performance., in terms of work quality, timeliness, accuracy, and work motivation. The forms of feedback consist of positive, corrective, and Developmental feedback delivered directly through face-to-face communication and daily work activities. The effectiveness of feedback is influenced by the clarity of delivery, timing of feedback, interpersonal relationships between supervisors and employees, and the communication skills of supervisors in conveying messages appropriately. Employees’ perceptions toward feedback tend to be positive as it helps them understand mistakes, improve work methods, increase self-confidence, and strengthen working relationships with supervisors. The findings also indicate several obstacles, including the absence of written standard operating procedures (SOP) regarding feedback, differences in employee characteristics and understanding, as well as variations in supervisors’ communication abilities in delivering feedback.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the backbone of Indonesia’s economy, yet most MSME actors exhibit low saving behavior. This study examines the influence of accounting understanding, financial inclusion, and social environment on saving behavior among MSME actors in Selong City, East Lombok Regency. Using a quantitative associative approach, data were collected from 95 respondents through a Likert-scale questionnaire. Multiple linear regression analysis was employed to test the hypotheses, after validating the instrument with corrected item-total correlation (r-table = 0.202) and reliability with Cronbach’s alpha (>0.60). Classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity) were satisfied. The results show that simultaneously, accounting understanding, financial inclusion, and social environment have a significant effect on saving behavior (F = 51.564, p = 0.000, adjusted R² = 0.653). Partially, financial inclusion has a positive and significant effect (β = 0.770, p = 0.000), and the social environment also has a positive and significant effect (β = 0.268, p = 0.001). However, accounting understanding does not have a significant effect (β = -0.050, p = 0.180). This indicates that access to formal financial services and socio-ecological support are more dominant in shaping saving habits than accounting knowledge alone in traditional MSMEs. The study concludes that expanding financial inclusion through digital agents and strengthening community-based social capital are effective strategies. Future research should include additional variables such as income and self-control.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of entrepreneurship education, family environment, and self-efficacy on the entrepreneurial interest of eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 3 Semarang. The study is motivated by the high unemployment rate among the productive-age population and secondary education graduates in Indonesia, indicating the need for strategic efforts through strengthening entrepreneurship education at the secondary education level. This study employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. The research population consisted of 412 eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 3 Semarang in the 2025/2026 academic year who had completed the Craft and Entrepreneurship (PKWU) subject, with a sample of 203 students selected using proportional random sampling techniques. Data were collected through questionnaires and observations, while data analysis was conducted using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method. The results showed that all variables met the validity and reliability criteria. The R-Square value of 0.705 indicates that entrepreneurship education, family environment, and self-efficacy were able to explain 70.5% of entrepreneurial interest. Hypothesis testing showed that entrepreneurship education had a positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial interest (β = 0.357; p = 0.000), family environment had a positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial interest (β = 0.206; p = 0.003), and self-efficacy had a positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial interest (β = 0.393; p = 0.000). The findings indicate that educational factors, family support, and individuals’ confidence in their own abilities play an important role in increasing students’ entrepreneurial interest.

Abstract

This research is motivated by efforts to modernize tax administration through the implementation of the Coretax system as a digital-based tax service that is expected to improve the quality of service and taxpayer compliance. However, in its implementation, various obstacles still exist that affect the system's effectiveness. The phenomenon found at KPP Pratama Subang shows that many taxpayers still experience difficulties when using the Coretax system, including frequent login failures, system errors, delays in taxpayer data verification, and confusion in understanding the features and procedures within the system. In addition, around 300–400 taxpayers per day visited KPP Pratama Subang to seek consultation and technical assistance regarding the use of Coretax, indicating that taxpayers’ understanding and adaptation to the new digital tax system are still relatively low. This condition demonstrates that the implementation of the Coretax system has not yet fully supported taxpayer convenience and compliance, and the role of Account Representatives (AR) is still highly needed in providing guidance, supervision, and assistance to taxpayers. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Coretax and the role of Account Representatives (AR) in improving individual taxpayer compliance at the Subang Pratama Tax Office (KPP Pratama). This study uses a qualitative approach with an exploratory method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation with informants consisting of individual taxpayers, Account Representatives (AR), and tax counselors. Data analysis was conducted using a comparative technique using a percentage approach. The results show that the implementation of Coretax is still suboptimal (31.25%) due to technical constraints, access, and taxpayer understanding. The role of Account Representatives (AR) is also not optimal (43.75%), especially in the aspects of communication and guidance. Meanwhile, the level of taxpayer compliance is in the fairly good category (68.75%). Overall, it shows that the implementation of the Coretax system and Account Representative (AR) services in improving taxpayer compliance has not been running optimally.

Abstract

The healthcare industry in Indonesia is facing increasingly intense competitive pressures, particularly in urban areas. According to data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health (2023), the total number of hospitals in Indonesia has reached more than 3,100, with the number of private hospitals increasing to more than 1,900. This growth forces each healthcare facility to develop more adaptive and data-driven marketing strategies. However, most hospitals, especially those in the middle to lower scale, still rely on conventional marketing approaches that have not optimally utilized digital platforms as communication channels for patients. This study aims to analyze the influence of hospital marketing strategies on the number of patient visits, focusing on three main variables: (1) digital promotion and marketing strategies, (2) service quality based on the 7P marketing mix, and (3) patient experience, as well as the mediating role of online reputation and patient trust. Patient experience in this study is operationally defined as the quality of service interactions perceived by patients, including the service process and staff interactions, while online reputation is defined as digital-based public perception formed through online reviews, ratings, and testimonials. The study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design, namely the collection and analysis of quantitative data from structured surveys using a Likert-scale questionnaire for patients. Quantitative data analysis used the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) model. The expected outcome of this study is the formation of a strategic model that explains the relationship between hospital marketing variables and patient visits, while also generating practical recommendations for hospital management in designing effective, sustainable, and responsive marketing strategies to patient needs in the digital era.

Abstract

Digital investment platforms have expanded investment access among Generation Z, but easier access does not always ensure rational investment decisions. This study examines the effect of financial literacy on investment decisions among Generation Z in Cirebon and analyzes the moderating role of fear of missing out in this relationship. A quantitative associative design was applied using survey data collected from 105 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The respondents were Generation Z individuals aged 17–28 years who lived in Cirebon and had investment experience or interest. Data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling. The findings show that financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on investment decisions, indicating that better financial understanding improves the ability of young investors to evaluate risk, return, and investment alternatives. Fear of missing out also has a positive and significant effect on investment decisions, suggesting that psychological and social pressure can encourage investment participation. More importantly, fear of missing out negatively moderates the relationship between financial literacy and investment decisions, meaning that high fear of missing out weakens the role of financial literacy in guiding rational investment decisions. This study contributes to behavioral finance literature by integrating rational and psychological factors in explaining young investors’ behavior and provides practical implications for investment literacy programs that include behavioral awareness.

Abstract

The digital transformation within the insurance industry demands that companies not only adopt technology but also ensure the cultivation of customer trust in digital-based service systems. In this context, this study aims to analyze the strategies for enhancing customer trust through digital service innovation at PT Asuransi Umum Bumida 1967 Medan Branch using the framework of the Diffusion of Innovation Theory. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, collecting data through observation, in-depth interviews with staff and customers, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results show that digital service innovations such as the Replay application, e-policies, and policy barcodes offer relative advantages in improving operational efficiency, service speed, and information transparency. However, the innovation adoption process is still influenced by factors such as usage complexity, varying levels of digital literacy, and the preference of some customers for manual systems. Interpersonal communication strategies through marketing, the implementation of a hybrid system, and continuous assistance have proven effective in accelerating the diffusion of innovation. It is concluded that the success of digital service innovation in building customer trust requires the integration of strengthening innovation attributes, optimizing communication, gradual adaptation, and consistent, sustainable support from the organization's social system.
