This research focuses on the ethnic-based da'wah model of the Chinese Muslim community who is members of the Indonesian Chinese Islamic Association (PITI) Banyumas in promoting religious moderation. The Banyumas Chinese Muslim community chooses the middle path and contributes to religious moderation through various da'wah activities. This research method uses documentation, interviews, and observations. The results of this study describe an ethnic-based da'wah model through structural and cultural da'wah movements. The da'wah developed promotes a moderate attitude with a socio-economic and socio-cultural approach. Ethnic Chinese who have recently embraced Islam (mualaf) receive training in economic empowerment. The Chinese Muslim community also embodies tolerance in an open attitude towards non-Muslim Chinese ethnicities and various other religious groups. An example of public openness is their acceptance of the Cap Go Meh culture and the lion dance tradition. A moderate attitude is shown by neutrality that is not extreme right and extreme left on the choice of religious schools of thought. PITI places people in the center of society's varieties. Da'wah facilities employ the mosque as a venue for preaching and religious education based on social interaction. Chinese Muslims' preaching through an open, reasonable, and community engagement has been well received by the general public.

Kiai is highlighted as a difficult (to reach) figure because of social class classification that lives in the public consciousness. Despite the kiai is considered to have a high social class, this does not make the kiai forget its social role. In this case, it can be referredto Kiai Najib Salimi as the founder of the Luqmaniyah pesantren. This paper aims to explore the contribution of Kiai Najib Salimi in community development and the factors behind it based on prophetic values. The study employed a qualitative method with a biographical approach. Data were collected via document searches, interviews, and observations. It was revealed that the Kiai had transformed into founders pesantren and developed into changes makers, social planners, and social facilitators. The contribution of Kiai Najib Salimi was exposed in the establisment of Luqmaniyah pesantren, Micro-finance (Koperasi) Kodesmata, Ngrowot fasting, and the Syuri’ah of Nahdlatul Ulama in Yogyakarta City. This paper also features that the impetus for taking empowerment is personal factors, family, educational pesantren, and social environment. In fact, the contribution made by Kiai Najib Salimi holds ethical values in the practice of community empowerment. This finding, by implication, requires only further action that prophetic values are not based on ethical concepts, but must contribute practically to social life.

The presence of the internet as a marker of the emergence of new media cannot be denied, raising the concept of digital religion as an important element in the presentation of religion at the level of the digital world landscape. In Indonesia, the encounter of Muslim women with the internet has presented religious narratives within the scope of the online world, not least in terms of discourse on gender issues. Using the netnographic method and supported by content analysis, this paper attempts to research and analyze two websites, specifically muslimahnews.com and muslimah.or.id. The findings indicate that the two websites, which contain discourses on women's piety and gender bias, demonstrate that gender inequality on the internet is not directly caused by a lack of women participation but rather by a strong interpretation of gender-biased Islamic ideology in the real world, which is reflected in the virtual world. In other words, the existence of gender bias in Muslim women's websites in Indonesia is a matter of using technology. It is also caused by the construction of gender-biased religious ideology, which previously existed in the offline landscape.

Changing the policy from Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) to the “new normal” policy during the Covid-19 pandemic requires effective and targeted public communication. Therefore, this study aims to analyze and describe the implementation of the Crisis and Emergency Risk Communication (CERC) model in the public communication of the Sidoarjo Regency government during the new normal period in the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used in this research is a qualitative study, with data sources from interviews analyzed using the CERC model. The results showed that the Sidoarjo Regency government's public communication was mainly done through social media, websites, and outdoor-indoor publications in the form of banners. However, this public communication model is not by the needs of the heterogeneous Sidoarjo community, especially with the unequal distribution of media literacy. Thus, the necessary public communication is through community participation with two-way communication channels, persuasive interpersonal communication, as well as group and organizational communication, in accordance with the CERC model.

This paper aims to explain the role of KAMMI (Kesatuan Aksi Mahasiswa Muslim Indonesia/ the Indonesian Muslim University Students Action Union) in Universities in East Kalimantan in shaping the political dynamics among students in university settings. Utilizing a qualitative approach to analyze data collected through interviews with members of KAMMI in Samarinda, findings reveal that KAMMI’s main strategy to maintain its’ Islamist ideology consists of three distinctive steps: 1) introducing KAMMI to potential members in high schools via vacation trip program (rihlah); 2) recruiting members during admission time via personal approaches; and 3) maintaining solidarity by utilizing small circle study groups. In the first two steps, KAMMI would introduce potential new members with personal holiness, which aims to guard the students' morality. In the third phase, members would be familiarized with the concept of “Muslim Negarawan,” in which they are asked to view their campus as a political arena of competition for power.
