Abstract

This study research aims to test and analyze the effect of Competitive Advantage on bank value while comparing the value of state-owned and private banks in Indonesia. Competitive Advantage is essential for banking because it helps banks differentiate themselves from competitors and create unique value for stakeholders, and it is reflected through factors or attributes that make a bank superior to its competitors. The independent variable in this study is Competitive Advantage, measured through capital requirements and product differentiation, while the dependent variable is bank value, measured through the market-to-book ratio and Tobin’s Q. This study used 328 financial reports from 41 sample banks in Indonesia, with data obtained from annual reports and financial statements published on the companies’ websites from 2015 to 2022. The data were analyzed using the PLS-SEM approach, while comparisons between state-owned and private banks were conducted using PLS-Multigroup analysis with the assistance of WarpPLS software. The results show that Competitive Advantage has a significant positive effect on bank value in both state-owned and private banks. Furthermore, the type of bank has not been proven to moderate the effect of Competitive Advantage on bank value.

Abstract

This study research focuses on a three-month delay in a shore protection project undertaken by PT Sabar Sejahtera, which resulted in financial, time, and opportunity losses. Electricity is essential for human life and can be generated in various ways; therefore, the construction of power plants must be well planned. Effective project planning helps manage resources and schedules, while poor planning can lead to project delays. This study aims to identify the root causes of the delay, propose solutions and mitigation plans, and develop a lessons learned register. A mixed-method approach was employed, including focus group discussions and Risk Priority Number (RPN) analysis. The Current Reality Tree identified two main root causes: systematic errors during the tendering and planning stages and the absence of a mitigation plan. The Future Reality Tree demonstrated that involving multiple departments and correcting systematic errors could prevent similar issues in future projects. To manage project risks, this study applied the PMBOK 6th Edition project risk management framework, covering risk identification through monitoring. The lessons learned register highlights the importance of early planning, appropriate working methods, and a comprehensive risk mitigation plan. The company is encouraged to adopt this approach in future projects.

Abstract

This study investigates the indirect effect of social media marketing (SMM) on brand loyalty through the mediating roles of consumer brand engagement, brand trust, brand experience, and brand equity within Indonesia’s e-commerce industry. Although SMM plays a crucial role in shaping brand loyalty, few studies have comprehensively examined the relational and experiential variables underlying this process. A cross-sectional survey was conducted involving 285 active social media users who had previously made purchases via TikTok Shop, Shopee, or Tokopedia. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS. The results indicate that SMM positively affects consumer brand engagement, brand trust, brand experience, and brand equity. However, SMM has a negative direct effect on brand loyalty. Conversely, all four mediating variables significantly and positively influence brand loyalty, suggesting that emotional interaction and meaningful brand experiences play a greater role than mere digital exposure in fostering loyalty. This study provides a holistic model for understanding digital relationship strategies. Practically, e-commerce companies are encouraged to shift their focus from purely promotional tactics to interactive content, personalized experiences, and trust-based communication to cultivate long-term consumer loyalty in an increasingly competitive digital environment.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between total quality management (TQM) and employee performance by identifying key mediating factors, namely innovative work behaviour and dynamic absorptive capacity. The research investigates how these mediators enhance the effectiveness of TQM in improving employee productivity and performance within manufacturing firms. A research framework was developed and tested using data collected from 114 employees working in manufacturing companies in Salatiga. The data were analysed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that TQM positively influences employee performance, while innovative work behaviour and dynamic absorptive capacity serve as significant mediating variables. Furthermore, both mediators strengthen the relationship between TQM and employee performance. These results suggest that managers should cultivate an innovative work environment by empowering employees to work independently and think creatively. In addition, top management should encourage continuous learning and the application of new knowledge in the workplace to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of managerial overconfidence on firm value with organizational capital and tax avoidance as mediating variables. Using a quantitative approach, the study employs multiple linear regression analysis and path analysis on panel data from 69 manufacturing firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2021–2023. The results show that managerial overconfidence significantly reduces firm value, both directly and indirectly. Conversely, organizational capital has a significant positive effect on firm value, while tax avoidance also contributes positively, albeit with potential long-term risks. The analysis further reveals that organizational capital and tax avoidance significantly mediate the relationship between managerial overconfidence and firm value. This research contributes theoretically by extending the literature on behavioral accounting, organizational resources, and tax management. Practically, the study provides insights for regulators, auditors, and corporate governance bodies in monitoring managerial decision-making to prevent excessive risk-taking and to ensure that organizational capital investments and tax strategies enhance sustainable firm value rather than create distortions.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of User-Generated Content (UGC), Electronic Word of Mouth (e-WOM), and trust on Generation Z’s purchase intention toward Facetology sunscreen products in the context of rapid digital transformation and the growing influence of social media on consumer behavior. As consumers increasingly rely on peer-generated information rather than traditional corporate advertising, the study extends the Theory of Reasoned Action to explain the relationship between digital information, trust, and purchase intention. The research adopts a quantitative approach using Partial Least Squares (PLS) analysis with SmartPLS 4.0 software. The findings demonstrate that both UGC and e-WOM positively influence purchase intention, while trust functions as a mediating variable that strengthens this relationship. In addition, trust also acts as a moderating variable by amplifying or weakening the effects of UGC and e-WOM on purchase intention. The results indicate that when consumers have a high level of trust in a product or brand, the positive influence of favorable reviews and peer recommendations becomes stronger in encouraging purchase intention. Conversely, when trust is low, the positive impact of UGC and e-WOM tends to weaken and may even become negative.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a cooperative-based governance model for Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The research was conducted at BUMDes Sinar Mandiri Batursari Sakti using a participatory qualitative approach through literature reviews, field observations, in-depth interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and a pilot implementation of the governance model. The findings reveal that the application of cooperative principles in BUMDes governance enhances institutional legitimacy, strengthens accountability, and promotes broader community participation. The integration of cooperative values also reduces elite domination, reinforces community ownership, and expands the village’s socio-economic impact. Furthermore, the governance model aligns with the achievement of several SDGs, particularly poverty reduction (SDG 1), decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), reduced inequalities (SDG 10), and partnerships for the goals (SDG 17). Therefore, the proposed cooperative-based governance model is not only relevant for improving the performance of BUMDes Sinar Mandiri Batursari Sakti but also has strong potential to be replicated in other BUMDes with adjustments to local contexts.

Abstract

This study research examines the essential role of Brand Trust as a mediator that transforms digital marketing stimuli, namely Live Streaming and Online Customer Reviews, into Purchase Intention in the fashion industry. In the digital era, the fashion industry demands strategic adaptation to the latest marketing trends, especially through marketplaces. This study focuses on fashion consumers in Makassar City who have experience buying or intend to purchase fashion products through online marketplace platforms. Data were collected from 216 respondents through a questionnaire using a 5-point Likert scale and analyzed using the PLS-SEM method with SmartPLS. The results indicate that Brand Trust is the strongest causal predictor of Purchase Intention. A crucial finding is the confirmation of full mediation by Brand Trust, showing that the effectiveness of Live Streaming and Online Customer Reviews does not lie in their ability to directly trigger purchase intentions, but rather in their capacity to build Brand Trust first. Furthermore, Online Customer Reviews contribute more strongly to the formation of Brand Trust than Live Streaming. These findings suggest that there are two key stages in forming fashion purchase intentions in marketplaces, particularly among consumers in Makassar.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship among zero-waste management, perceived green capability and managerial belief in customer trust and booking intention within the hotel industry. The research model also incorporate hotel category (2 star, 3 star and 4 star) as a moderating construct. Using a quantitative survey design, data are collected from hotel manager to assess their perception of environmental practices and anticipated customer reactions. Data are analyzed using   PLS –SEM to test the hypothesized direct and moderating relationship and to identify the strength and significance of each structural path. The result show that zero-waste management has a significant and positive effect on perceived green capability, demonstrating that environmental practices enhance the managers’ assessment of their hotel’s sustainability competence. However, perceived green capability does not significantly influence managerial belief in customer trust or booking intention. Additionally, zero-waste management is not found to significantly affect the managerial belief in customer trust or booking intention. Further, hotel classification also do not moderate the relationship between perceived green capability and the customer belief construct, indicating that sustainability capability is not viewed differently across hotel categories. These findings, reveal that environmental capability strengthen the internal strategic perception but does not translate directly into managerial expectation of customer behavior. This study is limited by its regional focus, the reliance on self-reported managerial perception and its cross-sectional design. Future research should incorporate the customer data, and also explore the alternatives   moderating construct for better understanding about zero-waste management.
