Abstract

This study  aims to explore the influence of social media influencers, fear of missing out (FoMO), shopping lifestyle, and discount prices on impulse buying among Generation Z TikTok and Instagram users in Indonesia. The objective is to identify key factors influencing Gen Z’s online impulse buying, highlighting the urgency due to the rising trend of digital-driven impulsive consumption. Using a quantitative approach, this study analyzed data from 130 respondents selected through random sampling techniques. Data analysis using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) reveals that social media influencers, fear of missing out (FoMO), and discount prices positively influence impulse buying, with FoMO having the most significant influence. However, the shopping lifestyle was found to have no significant influence on impulse buying. These findings have important implications for marketers, suggesting that they optimize collaboration with influencers who match the target market, design promotional strategies that utilize FoMO elements ethically, and implement structured discount pricing strategies. For consumers, this study encourages awareness of the influence of influencers and FoMO on purchasing decisions, as well as the importance of self-control. For companies, it provides insights to develop effective digital marketing strategies by leveraging FoMO and discounts, especially to attract Gen Z.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of task-oriented and relationship-oriented leadership styles on organisational performance in small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs) in Johannesburg, South Africa. The novelty of the study lies in simultaneously analysing autocratic, transactional, and transformational leadership styles within the underexplored context of South African SMMEs. Data were collected from 194 SMME owners and managers using a structured survey and analysed through structural equation modelling (SEM) to test the hypothesised relationships between leadership styles and organisational performance. The findings reveal that autocratic, transactional, and transformational leadership styles all have significant positive effects on organisational performance. These results suggest that leadership effectiveness in SMMEs is not confined to a single dominant style but rather depends on the contextual application of different leadership approaches. The study provides practical insights for SMME leaders and policymakers by highlighting the importance of adapting leadership behaviours to the dynamic and resource-constrained environments typical of emerging economies. Overall, the research contributes to leadership and small business literature by demonstrating how leadership adaptability supports organisational performance and sustainability in SMMEs.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of Lean Management in improving operational efficiency in the Green Tourism sector by using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) approach as a decision-making tool. Green tourism requires efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly operational management, but in practice there are still often wasted resources, processes that do not add value, and less structured decision-making. The Lean Management approach is used to identify and eliminate waste activities in the tourism operational process, such as excessive energy use, inefficient service flows, and suboptimal facility management. Meanwhile, the AHP method is applied to determine the most effective Lean strategy priorities by considering various criteria, including cost efficiency, environmental impact, service quality, and tourist satisfaction. This study uses a quantitative method by collecting data through questionnaires and interviews with green tourism destination managers. The results of the AHP analysis are expected to be able to produce priority weight on alternative Lean Management implementations that are most in line with the characteristics of green tourism. The findings of this study are expected to be strategic recommendations for tourism managers in improving operational efficiency while maintaining the principles of environmental sustainability.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) on Sustainable Performance (SP) among Indonesian SMEs, incorporating the mediating role of Knowledge Management Capability (KMC) and the moderating role of Environmental Dynamism (ED). Grounded in the Resource-Based View (RBV) and Knowledge-Based View (KBV), the research employs Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) on pilot data from 43 SMEs. The results indicate that EO significantly enhances both KMC and SP, with KMC partially mediating the relationship. However, ED does not significantly moderate the structural relationships. These findings highlight that internal capabilities play a more critical role than external environmental conditions in driving sustainability in SMEs. This study contributes to the literature by integrating EO, KMC, and ED within a moderated mediation framework in an emerging economy context, providing nuanced insights into how entrepreneurial and knowledge-based capabilities interact to support sustainable performance.
