Abstract

Stunting is one of the nutritional problems that the government focuses on because it risks disrupting child development. This study aims to the development of stunted children aged 2-5 years at the Sukorejo Community Health Centre in Blitar City. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with a population of 91 stunted children aged 2-5 years taken by purposive sampling technique conducted on 25 March to 20 April 2024 with the DDST (Denver Development Screening Test) sheet instrument with normal interpretation if there is only 1 caution on the age line, abnormal if there are 2 or more cautions on the age line, Suspect if there are more than 2 cautions or more than 1 delay. Based on the results of the analysis of the overall development of stunted children aged 2-5 years, 75 children (82%) were normal, 7 children (8%) were abnormal, and 9 children (10%) were suspect. The conclusion in this study is that most children show normal development because parents provide regular stimulus, although there are a number of children who have delays due to lack of stimulus from parents. This study provides insight for researchers, educational institutions, health centres, and parents to increase attention to the development of stunted children.

Abstract

Mental health has serious consequences for the future of adolescents. Poor mental health affects routine activities, damages relationships, and hinders development and productivity. Adolescents with mental health problems have difficulty completing schoolwork. Various sources state that self-esteem is a predictor of mental health. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-esteem and mental health in adolescents. The research design was correlational with a cross-sectional approach. The population was 279 adolescents of Srengat junior high school in grade 8. A sample of 164 people was determined using a purposive sampling technique. The independent variable is self-esteem, and the dependent variable is mental health. Data collection used a questionnaire, which involved filling out a Google form—analysis using Spearman-Rho with a confidence value (α) of 0.05. The results showed that most respondents had high self-esteem, namely 59.1%, and almost all had good mental health, namely 87.2%. The Spearman Rho test results showed a p-value = 0.000 (> α = 0.05), r = 0.424, meaning that there is a relationship between self-esteem and mental health of adolescents at Srengat junior high school with moderate strength. This study concludes a significant relationship between self-esteem and adolescents’ mental health; the better the self-esteem, the better the mental health of adolescents. Schools and parents should pay more attention to adolescents by taking a personal approach in an effort to improve mental health by increasing adolescent self-esteem.

Abstract

Rabies is a disease caused by the Ribonucleic Acid (RNA) virus from the Rhabdoviridae family, a neurotropic, highly contagious, bullet-shaped virus. Analyzing an overview of case studies in providing nursing care to patients with bites from animals that transmit rabies in the emergency unit of the Kepanjenkidul Health Center, Blitar City. This case study was carried out on 4 patients who were bitten by rabies-transmitting animals, who had received nursing care in accordance with Indonesian nursing care standards and were evaluated on the 7th day after the bite. The results of the case study show that from the four cases nursing diagnoses emerged of impaired skin/tissue integrity, acute pain, risk of infection with nursing interventions including pain management, wound care, and infection prevention. All implementations were carried out in accordance with planning, the results of the evaluation on the seventh day all nursing care goals were achieved and there were no further complications. There is a need to socialize standards for management of rabid animal bites and improve coordination between health workers and related agencies to immediately carry out mitigation

Abstract

Controlling blood sugar levels is the key to the treatment program by reducing weight, diet, and exercise. Physical activity is one factor affecting glycemic management for Diabetes Mellitus (DM) patients. This case study aims to maintain the stability of blood sugar levels in DM patients by applying walking exercises. The design of this research is a case report with a nursing process approach carried out on Diabetes Mellitus patients with nursing problems of unstable blood sugar levels. The Bendo Community Health Center carried out nursing care for seven days. The intervention implemented is walking exercises. The case study results are presented in the form of nursing documentation. The case study results showed that the patient's blood sugar levels tended to be stable starting on the second day of the intervention. An increase in whole-body insulin sensitivity mostly explains exercise-induced glycemic control. The long-term advantages of frequent exercise on glycemic control are related to the cumulative effect of transitory gains in insulin sensitivity and glycemic control after each bout of exercise rather than structural changes in insulin sensitivity.

Abstract

 Stunting cases continue to increase along with the high risk of malnutrition, increasing prevalence of malnutrition, and decreasing productivity. Several factors related to the incidence of stunting in toddlers include birth weight, history of infectious diseases and birth spacing. This research identifies the relationship between maternal employment and the incidence of stunting in children. The research design was cross-sectional, carried out on a population of mothers with toddlers, all of whom were taken as a sample of 20 people. Instruments used in collecting questionnaire data. The results of this study show that there is a significant relationship between maternal employment and the incidence of stunting, with a p value of 0.000 (p ≤ 0.05). These data imply that maternal employment plays an important role in children's nutritional attainment. Employment status is directly related to the household's ability to provide quality and sufficient food.

Abstract

Emotional mental health that often occurs during adolescence is anxiety and academic stress. The aim of this research is to determine the differences in emotional mental health between male and female adolescents. The design of this research was cross sectional, taking the entire population as a sample with a total of 319 male adolescents and 319 female adolescents. research site for junior high school number 5, Blitar City, East Java, Indonesia. This research instrument uses the SDQ (Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire). The results showed that the emotional mental health of male adolescents was 69% normal, borderline 12.2%, and abnormal 18.8%. Meanwhile, the emotional mental health of young women is 59.6% normal, borderline 19.4%, and 21% abnormal. The results of the Mann Whitney test obtained a p-value of 0.033 < 0.05, so it can be concluded that there are differences in the emotional mental health of female and male adolescents. The level of emotional mental health of adolescents is mostly in the normal category for both male and female students. Emotional mental health in adolescents is a phenomenon that must receive special attention from schools through Guidance and Counseling teachers and education through the School Health Unit.
