The main focus of the journal is on language teaching and pedagogy work. We are particularly interested on Language and Teaching Methodologies, Pedagogical Techniques, Technology in Language Teaching, Technology in Language Teaching such as CALL and MALL and Curriculum Development and Material design. This research describe about career exploration technique in improving the students writing ability of the tenth year students of SMA Negeri 3 Parepare. The use of this technique was chosen as the alternative way in teaching writing. Career Exploration is an activity, guide, and counseling to assist students make decisions about choosing their future professions, and how to get jobs in their chosen fields. The objective of the research is to find out whether or not career exploration technique can improve the writing ability of the tenth year students of SMA Negeri 3 Parepare. In this research the researcher used quasi experimental method, with two group pre-test and post-test design. The population was the tenth year students of SMA Negeri 3 Parepare. The samples were drawn by using random sampling technique that consisted of 49 students which were class X.5 as experimental class and class X.6 as control class. After analyzing the research data, where the data of students‟ writing ability were analyzed by using writing ability assessment from Weigle‟s book. The result of the data analysis shows the improvement students‟ writing ability. It was showed by the mean score in pre-test was 62.29 and in post-test was 75.62. It showed that career exploration technique can improve the writing ability of the tenth year students of SMA Negeri 3 Parepare significantly. Besides, the mean score of the students in post-test (75.62) was higher than the standard scoring Departemen Pendidikan Nasional Republik Indonesia (70.00). After analyzing the data by using the t-test formula, the result of t-test value in post-test was (4.049) and t-table value was (2.012). Those indicated that H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected. It meant that career exploration technique can improve the writing ability of the tenth year students of SMA Negeri 3 Parepare significantly.

This research based on the students’ problem regarding to English teaching especially speaking ability. It was caused by the teaching method of the teacher in classroom was not interesting for students. The objective of the research was whether or not the use of Peer Instruction method was able to improve the speaking ability of the eleventh grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Watang Pulu. The research applied quasi-experimental design with two group namely experimental class and control class. The population of this research was the eleventh grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Watang Pulu in academic year 2016/2017. The sample was XI.IPA 1 as experimental class and XI.IPA 2 as control class. The result of the data analysis showed that the students’ speaking ability improved, it was showed by the mean score of pre-test was 41.13 and the post-test was 57.65. It showed that the speaking ability of the eleventh grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Watang Pulu improved through Peer Instruction method. In conclusion, teaching speaking through Peer Instruction method was effective to improve the eleventh grade students’ speaking ability at SMA Negeri 1 Watang Pulu of academic year 2016/2017.

This research is based on the students’ problem regards English especially on vocabulary. Vocabulary is the important thing for students in the process of acquiring, learning, mastering, and using the language they learn. Without having vocabulary nothing can be convey. Mastering vocabulary will help the students to communicate easier with other people. Those reason become some of the considerations of the researcher to conduct a research when doing an observation at SMK Bahari Parepare because the students showed their limited of vocabulary. Then, modifying the method could be the problem solving for the limited vocabulary. in this case, the implementation of word wall as an media was suggested to overcome the problem. Finally, this research was intended to reveal that: can the role of internal memory by using word wall improve the vocabulary of the eleventh grade students of SMK Bahari Parepare significantly. This research used quasi experimental method, with two group pre-test and post-test design. The population was the eleventh grade students of SMK Bahari Parepare. The samples were drawn by using random sampling technique that consisted of 45 students which were class XI Teknika A as experimental class and class XI Nautika as control class. The data were acquired by using vocabulary test. The vocabulary mastery test was applied in the pre-test and post-test. The data required from vocabulary test was analyzed by using ttest and percentage technique. The result of the data analysis showed that the students’ vocabulary mastery improved significantly. It was showed by the mean score of the pretest was (56.19) and the post-test was (76.904). It showed that word wall can improve vocabulary of the eleventh grade students of SMK Bahari Parepare significantly. Besides, the mean score of the students in post-test (76.904) was higher than the standard scoring Departemen Pendidikan Nasional Republik Indonesia (70.00). After analyzing the data by using the t-test formula, the result of t-test value in post-test was (2.147) and t-table value was (2.021). Those indicated that H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected. Vocabulary is basic knowledge of the students to mastery in language skill. Students have a lot of vocabulary automatically able to speak and to write within communication. Limited vocabulary also can influence students’ comprehension in listening and reading. Those become some of the considerations of the researcher to conduct this research when doing an observation at SMP Negeri 12 Parepare since the students show very poor achievement in vocabulary Mastery. In this case, the researcher try to solve the problem of students’ vocabulary mastery by implement one of innovative learning strategies that is Memory Strategy. The objective of the research is to find out whether or not the use of Memory Strategy is able to improve vocabulary mastery of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 12 Parepare. The researcher applied quasi-experimental method, with two group pre-test and post-test design. The samples where chosen by using random sampling technique which consisted of 35 students from two classes taken from the population. The result of the data analysis showed that there was significant difference of the students’ vocabulary mastery before and after teaching vocabulary through Memory Strategy. It is proved by the result of the statistical analysis by using SPSS 21.0 application with applying t-test calculation where the significant value of pre-test (0.235) was higher than the level of significant (0.05) and post-test (0.000) was lower than the level of significant (0.05).

Writing is one of language skill that used to give information to people besides speaking. In writing, the students need ideas to share information to make the good sentences or paragraph as the final product. Writing is considering as one of difficult for students, because in writing skill, the students have to master vocabulary and know how to use grammar in making texts or sentences. Those become the considerations of the researcher when doing an observation at SMP Negeri 12 Parepare. Then modifying a collaborative learning strategy can become a problem solving in writing. In this case, the implementation of Think-Talk-Write Strategy as a collaborative learning is suggested overcame the problem.The objective of the research is to find out whether or not The Use of Think-Talk-Write (TTW) Strategy to Improve Writing Ability on Descriptive Text of Eight Year Students at SMP Negeri 12 Parepare. The researcher applied quasiexperimental method applied two group pre-test and post test design. One class was taken as an experimental class and one class as control class. The samples of the research consisted of 48 students from two classes taken from the population of the eighth year students of SMP Negeri 12 Parepare. The result of the data analysis showed that the students writing ability increase significantly. It could be showed from the mean score of pre-test was 49.04 and the post-test was 84 It could be concluded that the use of TTW strategy can increase the writing ability of SMP Negeri 12 Parepare. Therefore, the researcher also analyzed the data by using the test formula. The result of t-test value in the post-test was 6.27 and the t-table value was 2.021. It meant that the t-test value was higher than t-table value. Those indicated that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. It meant that there is significance between the students writing skill of eight year students of SMP Negeri 12 Parepare who are taught trought TTW Strategy and who are thaught trought Expository Strategy.

This research is based on the students’ problem regards English, especially in writing. Writing is one of the language skills that should be taught besides the other skills. Based on the curriculum of senior high school recommended by government, there are some texts which have to be mastered by the students at senior high school. One of texts is descriptive text. Descriptive text is the text which describes something, someone, situation and etc. In learning descriptive text the students may have difficulties to express their ideas because they not know how to start and end the paragraph. Therefore, in the writing teaching and learning process needed a good technique and media that researcher interested namely guided questions identification technique by using video clips. Then, the objective of the research is to find out whether or not guided questions identification technique by using video clips able to enhance the writing ability at the tenth year students of SMA Negeri 7 Pinrang. In this research the researcher applied quasi-experimental design, that consisted of experimental class and control class. The population was the tenth year students of SMA Negeri 7 Pinrang. The samples were drawn by using cluster random sampling technique that consisted of 57 students whichwere class X. 2 as an experimental class and class X. 1 as control class. The data were acquired by using writing test. The writing test was applied in pre-test and post-test. The data required for writing test was analyzed by using t-test and percentage technique. The result of the data analysis shows that the students’ writing mastery enhanced. It was shown by the mean score of pre-test is 56.28 and the post-test is 72.14. It shows that through guided questions identification technique by using video clips can enhance the students’ writing ability at the tenth year students of SMA Negeri 7 Pinrang significantly. After analyzing the data by using the test formula, the result of t-test value in post-test is 2.648 and t-table value is 2.004. It means that the t-test value 2.648 is higher than t-table value 2.004. It indicates that H 1 was accepted and H 0 was rejected and the students who were taught through guided questions identification technique by using video clips arebetter than the students who were taught through clustering technique by using video clips.
