Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Rethinking Plastics Project (2019-2022) in Tegal City in the context of marine plastic waste management and its contribution to the development of Government and Political Science. The method used is a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving the Maritime Affairs & Fisheries Service of the Tegalsari Archipelago Fisheries Port, the Tegal Bahari Children's Forum (Fantri), and waste management businesses in coastal areas. Data were collected through document analysis and analyzed using the process tracing method. The results show that although the project succeeded in reducing the percentage of plastic waste significantly at the peak of the intervention, the reduction cannot be fully attributed to the project due to limited coverage and duration of implementation. Local policies such as restrictions on single-use plastics and increasing the capacity of TPS (landfill sites) also played a significant role. This study emphasizes the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration and the integration of local policies with bilateral initiatives for sustainable plastic waste management. Recommendations include the establishment of a coordination forum, the development of incentive schemes, the expansion of inclusive education, and the strengthening of the circular economy through budget support and technical training. The contribution of this study lies in understanding the dynamics of cooperation between local governments and non-state actors in sustainable environmental management.

Abstract

This study investigates the vital role of a leader's emotional intelligence (EI) in driving the performance of information systems (IS) teams working under high pressure. Given the intensity of today's IS team work environment, this study addresses the need to understand the non-technical factors that contribute to success. Through a systematic literature review method encompassing empirical research spanning the period from 2010 to 2024, strong evidence was found to support the primary hypothesis. A thematic analysis of the existing literature identified that the three pillars of leader EI—self-awareness for managing personal stress, empathy for understanding team members' emotional states, and relationship management for navigating conflict and motivating—were strong predictors of team performance. Furthermore, the study revealed that these positive influences were largely mediated by the creation of psychological safety. A psychologically safe environment enables open communication, encourages healthy risk-taking, and accelerates the cycle of learning from failure, all of which are crucial in IS projects. These findings provide practical implications for organizations to prioritize EI development in leadership training programs and make it a critical criterion in the selection of IS project managers, in order to build resilient, innovative, and high-performing teams.

Abstract

Early childhood is in a very important period of moral development, where teacher behavior becomes a concrete model for the formation of character values. This study aims to examine the role of teacher role models in the formation of honesty and discipline in early childhood students. This study was conducted with a literature study approach using a narrative model as a study framework. The results of the study found that Early Childhood Education (PAUD) is more than just academics, honesty and discipline as a foundation for the formation of student character, teachers as Models of Norms and Behavior and the existence of social aspects and Collective identity. Related to teacher role models from the literature review in instilling the values ​​of honesty and discipline play a role as the main pillar in early childhood character education. Role modeling is not just a method, but a holistic pedagogical approach that simultaneously addresses cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Therefore, the teacher's role as a role model is not complementary, but at the heart of character education.

Abstract

Crushing activities are an important stage in coal processing to meet production targets. This study aims to analyze the productivity performance of the crusher at PT Jaksa Laksa Utama Site PT Budi Gema Gempita during March 2025. The method used includes field observation, recording of daily production data, as well as analysis of effective working time and delay time. The results of the study show a work efficiency of 84.29% with an average effective working time of 15.17 hours/day and an average productivity of 720.9 tons/hour. Factors affecting productivity include delays due to mechanical disturbances, standby due to delays in material supply, and environmental conditions such as high rainfall. Improvement recommendations include optimizing working time, routine maintenance, and increasing coordination between operational units. The implementation of these efforts is expected to support the achievement of coal production targets optimally.

Abstract

This study discusses blasting activities, which are a crucial stage in hard rock mining, because they are effective in demolition but also pose high risks to the safety of workers, equipment, and the environment. This study evaluates blasting site assessments as risk control indicators in two mining areas of PT Bukit Asam Tbk, namely the Suban Jeriji Selatan (SJS) Pit and Banko Tengah Block A (BTA) in Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra. The method used is a qualitative approach through direct field observation, including the use of assessment forms and data collection of blasting equipment. The evaluation is carried out using a scoring system, where the maximum total score is 300 points indicating safe conditions if achieved. The results show that in the SJS Pit, 7 locations were evaluated and 35% of them managed to obtain scores above 270 points, indicating that the area is overall safe for blasting activities. This study also refers to the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 1827 K / 30 / MEM / 2018 concerning Good Mining Engineering Principles, as a reference for implementing safety standards in blasting activities.

Abstract

Coal is one of the main energy sources in Indonesia, often temporarily stored in stockpiles before distribution. However, this storage is susceptible to self-combustion, a spontaneous combustion process caused by coal oxidation reactions that result in increased temperatures. Self-combustion in stockpiles can reduce coal quality and cause company losses. One location that experienced this is Left Stock RL 56, a coal stockpile of AL 71 at the Air Laya Mine of PT Bukit Asam, Tbk. This study aims to analyze the factors causing self-combustion and efforts to address and prevent it. The methods used include field observation, collection of primary and secondary data such as coal temperature data, stockpile dimensions, stockpiling patterns, rainfall data, and coal quality, which are then analyzed. The results show that self-combustion at the study location was triggered by several main factors, namely the long stockpiling period (approximately ± 5 months), the lack of an optimal FIFO system, stockpiling heights reaching 11 meters, and significant increases in coal temperature at several measurement points. The stockpiling pattern used has also not consistently adopted a system that can minimize the risk of self-combustion. Recommended preventative measures include proper stockpile management, regular temperature monitoring, the FIFO system, and immediate handling using heavy equipment when temperatures are detected high. By improving stockpile management systems, the potential for future fires can be minimized.

Abstract

This study aims to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the key components and effectiveness of blasting activities in the PT Bukit Asam mining area, specifically in Pit 2 Banko Barat. The main objective is to quantitatively determine the distribution of blasted rock fragmentation, as this is a critical factor that affects the productivity of the entire mining operation cycle, from ease of digging to crusher efficiency. To achieve this objective, this study applies a systematic methodology, beginning with field observations to directly observe each stage of the blasting process, from blasthole preparation to post-blast testing. Primary data collection includes blasting geometry parameters (burden and spacing), the types of explosives used such as ANFO and Powergel, and visual documentation of the pile of blasted material (muckpile). This data is complemented by secondary data in the form of geological conditions of the area. The culmination of the analysis was carried out using Split Desktop software, which analyzes digital images of the muckpile to generate fragmentation distribution curves. The results show that the pattern and explosives used have been adjusted to field conditions, where their effectiveness is validated through measured fragmentation data that serves as the basis for further blasting optimization.

Abstract

This study aims to conduct an in-depth evaluation of the current firefighting techniques at PT Budi Gema Gempita. To achieve this objective, a combined research method was used, including field observations to observe stockpiling and handling practices, periodic temperature measurements using an industrial thermogun to detect hot spots, interviews with operators to understand standard procedures, and secondary data analysis. The results identified that the main triggering factors for firefighting at the site were a combination of internal coal characteristics, namely high levels of Total Moisture (31.36%) and volatile matter (40.45%), which were exacerbated by storage periods exceeding two months. Field temperature measurements successfully detected a critical point in Seam 6 with a temperature reaching 72°C, indicating an advanced oxidation process that requires immediate treatment. This study evaluated two treatment methods: the use of an excavator alone and a combination of an excavator and chemical solutions. Conventional treatment, which involved dismantling and cooling the pile using an excavator, proved to be quite effective for heat dissipation. However, the combination method of spraying chemical liquid after dismantling shows far superior results, as it is able to reduce the temperature drastically and more quickly while stopping the oxidation process by coating the coal surface, thus offering a more efficient and complete solution.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the potential hazards and occupational risks associated with coal mining, with particular emphasis on the loading, hauling, and dumping processes at the PT Bukit Asam Tbk site in South Sumatra. Due to the complex working environment, the use of heavy equipment, and unstable geological conditions, the mining industry is a high-risk occupational industry for occupational accidents and health problems. This study used field observations, primary and secondary data collection, and analysis of employee questionnaires. The results showed that the hauling area has the highest hazard potential, while the loading and dumping area has the lowest. Collisions between parts, overturning of heavy equipment, and exposure to dust are some of the most common occupational accidents. The main causes of risk were identified as unstable road conditions, failure to use personal protective equipment (PPE), and failure to comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs). Therefore, the implementation of an OHS management system, regular training, and routine safety inspections are essential for risk control. It is hoped that this study will contribute to improving occupational safety in mining.

Abstract

This study aims to conduct an in-depth study and evaluation of the geometry of the haul roads used by dump trucks from the Front Pit I mining area to the Disposal Area in the operational area of ​​PT Long Daliq Primacoal. The background of this study is the understanding that haul roads are the lifeblood of mining activities whose efficiency greatly determines productivity. Haul road geometry that does not comply with technical and safety standards can trigger various serious operational risks. These problems can not only cause fatal accidents that endanger operators, but also result in premature damage to vital equipment components such as tires and suspension, and cause a decrease in overburden transport efficiency due to slow cycle times and increased fuel consumption. In this study, the methodology applied was a direct survey in the field to collect actual data. The data was then processed through quantitative analysis to assess key parameters of the road geometry, including road width on straight and curved segments, slope level (grade), and curve radius. The results of the study indicate that the existing condition at PT Long Daliq Primacoal has several significant deficiencies, such as several road segments whose width is inadequate for two-way traffic and slope levels that exceed safe limits. Based on these findings, several technical improvements, such as road widening and slope smoothing, are recommended to increase safety factors and optimize overburden transport efficiency in a sustainable manner.
