Abstract

The development of the Sports Student Activity Unit (UKM Olahraga) profile and administrative service website at the Samarinda State Polytechnic aims to provide a centralized web-based platform for organizational information and service management. The system enables students to access UKM profiles, sports divisions, activity schedules, news, galleries, member registration, and inventory loan services online. The system was developed using Laravel 11 as the backend, Filament v4 as the administration panel, Bootstrap 5 for the user interface, and MySQL as the database. The development method applied is the Web Development Life Cycle (WDLC), covering feasibility, analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance. The implemented features include UKM profile management, sports divisions and branches, activity and training schedules, news, galleries, new member registration, inventory borrowing, and an administration panel. Black Box Testing on 15 admin and user scenarios showed that all scenarios were successful, resulting in a 100% functional success rate. User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with UKM administrators on information access, content management, registration, borrowing, and ease of use indicators showed that the system was in accordance with organizational needs. Therefore, the website can support faster, more structured, and better documented management of UKM data and information dissemination.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology has made smartphones essential devices for supporting various daily activities. Intensive smartphone usage may lead to hardware and software failures, while users' limited knowledge in identifying these failures often results in improper troubleshooting. This study aims to design and develop a web-based expert system for diagnosing smartphone failures using the Forward Chaining method. The system was developed through requirements analysis, expert knowledge acquisition, knowledge base design, rule base construction, method implementation, and system testing. The knowledge base consists of 15 symptoms, 10 types of smartphone failures, and 20 diagnostic rules. The results of Black Box Testing showed that all system functions operated according to the specified requirements with a 100% success rate. Furthermore, validation using 20 test cases demonstrated that 19 system diagnoses were consistent with expert diagnoses, resulting in an accuracy of 95%. The developed expert system can assist users and technicians in performing initial smartphone failure diagnosis quickly, accurately, and efficiently.

Abstract

The manual room reservation process at the Faculty of Engineering, Sam Ratulangi University leads to uncertain application status, scheduling conflicts, and limited transparency. Existing reservation practices also lack offline accessibility and installable web capabilities. This study aims to develop and evaluate a Progressive Web App (PWA)-based room reservation system to improve accessibility while maintaining performance. The system was developed using the Rapid Application Development method and evaluated through automated black box testing with Selenium and performance testing using Google Lighthouse. Performance measurements were conducted on four representative pages using Google Chrome and Lighthouse under online and offline scenarios, with each test repeated three times on the same desktop environment. The PWA achieved average performance scores of 100 for cache-offline and cache-online scenarios, 98.5 for no-cache offline, and 96 for no-cache online. The non-PWA version achieved average scores of 99.75 and 96.25 under online conditions but could not function offline. These results demonstrate that the proposed PWA provides installation capability and limited offline access while maintaining online performance comparable to a conventional web application, making it a practical solution for room reservation services in higher education.

Abstract

Manual care for oil palm seedlings during the nursery stage is often inefficient, labor-intensive, and prone to inaccuracies regarding the dosage and frequency of water, fertilizer, and pesticide application. This study aimed to design and develop an integrated Internet of Things (IoT)-based automation system that combines watering, liquid fertilization, and pesticide spraying functions into a single device capable of remote monitoring and control. The system was constructed using an ESP32 microcontroller, a soil moisture sensor (YL-69), a rain sensor (FC-37), a DS3231 RTC module, three DC pumps, and relays; sensor data is transmitted to the Firebase Realtime Database and displayed via a web dashboard. Test results demonstrated that the soil moisture sensor automatically activates the pump when levels fall below a 30% threshold, the rain sensor responds to weather changes in under one second, and data communication remains stable with an average delay of 1–2 seconds. This IoT system contributes to improved seedling care efficiency, evidenced by an average seedling height growth of 15 cm over 30 days, compared to 12 cm using manual methods.

Abstract

Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is an essential aspect of creating a safe and productive working environment. PT Marka Katiga Diklatama, which manages 15 OSH training programs with an average of 25 participants per month, still performs part of its training management and payment verification processes manually, resulting in inefficiency. This study aims to develop a web-based OSH training information system using the Waterfall method and the CodeIgniter 4 framework. The system integrates the Midtrans payment gateway to automate payment verification and implements the Greedy algorithm to determine the most popular training programs based on the number of registered participants. The results show that the system is capable of managing registration, payment, and reporting processes more effectively while automatically generating rankings of the most popular training programs. Based on User Acceptance Testing (UAT) involving 34 respondents, the system achieved an acceptance rate of 87.14%, which falls into the highly feasible category. The developed system supports more efficient management of OSH training services and facilitates the company's decision-making process.

Abstract

This study aims to implement QOMARUN, a web-based information system for reporting and preventing violence in Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren). The study addresses the lack of a secure and transparent reporting mechanism, which causes many violence cases to remain unreported. The system was developed using the Prototyping method and implemented with Laravel framework based on the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture, supported by Livewire and Tailwind CSS. System evaluation was conducted through black-box testing and a user questionnaire involving one respondent with 15 Likert-scale statements. The results showed that all core system functions operated successfully, while the questionnaire achieved an average score of 3.67 out of 5, indicating positive user acceptance. The QOMARUN application provides a secure, structured, and transparent reporting mechanism and has the potential to improve violence reporting and case management in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks remain a major threat to network service availability due to their ability to generate massive traffic volumes that closely resemble legitimate activities. This study proposes an Explainable Ensemble Learning approach for DDoS detection using the CIC-DDoS2019 dataset. The proposed framework integrates Mutual Information-based feature selection to identify the 20 most relevant features, Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) for class balancing, and a Voting Ensemble of Random Forest, XGBoost, and LightGBM classifiers. Model performance was evaluated using a 70:30 train-test split with Accuracy, Precision, Recall, F1-score, and ROC-AUC metrics. Experimental results achieved 99.80% Accuracy, 99.79% F1-score, and 0.9999 ROC-AUC. SHAP analysis identified Avg_Packet_Size and packet-length-related features as the most influential predictors, improving both detection performance and model interpretability. These findings demonstrate that integrating Ensemble Learning with Explainable Artificial Intelligence provides an accurate and transparent solution for DDoS detection interpretability.

Abstract

The increasing number of scientific articles makes the process of searching, filtering, and organizing relevant literature more challenging. This problem becomes more complex because one scientific article can be associated with more than one research topic. This study aims to implement and evaluate a SciBERT-TextCNN model for multilabel classification of scientific articles in the Computer Science field based on title and abstract metadata. The dataset used was arXiv article metadata obtained from Kaggle and limited to Computer Science categories. The research stages included data preprocessing, Multi-Label Random Under-Sampling, tokenization using SciBERT tokenizer, model training, threshold tuning, and evaluation. The model was tested using five scenarios: SciBERT frozen and fine-tuning the last 1, 2, 3, and 4 layers. The best performance was obtained by fine-tuning the last 2 SciBERT layers, achieving precision of 0.708, recall of 0.726, F1-score of 0.715, macro F1-score of 0.649, and Hamming Loss of 0.02333. These results show that SciBERT-TextCNN can be used to support automatic multilabel classification of scientific articles.

Abstract

Inventory management is an important activity in supporting the operational performance of an organization. At the Information and Communication Technology Division (Bid TIK) of the Gorontalo Regional Police, inventory management is still carried out manually using spreadsheets, resulting in several problems such as recording errors, data duplication, difficulties in retrieving item information, and delays in report preparation. This study aims to design and develop a web-based Inventory Information System (SIMBAR) to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of inventory management. The system was developed using the Waterfall method, which consists of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance stages. PHP was used as the programming language, while MySQL served as the database management system. The developed system provides features for inventory data management, incoming and outgoing goods transactions, asset borrowing and returning, stock monitoring, and inventory reporting. System testing was conducted using the Black Box Testing method to ensure that all system functions operated according to user requirements. The testing results showed that all system modules achieved a valid status based on Black Box Testing. The results of this study indicate that the system improves the accuracy of inventory data management, accelerates data recording and retrieval processes, facilitates real-time stock monitoring, and speeds up inventory report generation. Therefore, the developed system can support a more effective, efficient, and integrated inventory management process at the Information and Communication Technology Division (Bid TIK) of the Gorontalo Regional Police.

Abstract

The investigator reward process at the Narcotics Investigation Directorate of Gorontalo Regional Police is still conducted manually, making it prone to subjectivity, inconsistency, and time-consuming evaluations. This study aims to develop a web-based Decision Support System (DSS) for selecting the best investigator using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) methods. The system was developed using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) approach and evaluated 20 investigator alternatives based on five criteria: Electronic Management of Investigators (EMP), Case Resolution, Discipline, Integrity, and Teamwork. The AHP method was applied to determine the priority weights of the evaluation criteria, while the SAW method was used to calculate preference values and rank the alternatives. The results show that Electronic Management of Investigators (EMP) is the most influential criterion with a weight of 41.62%, while alternative A2 achieved the highest preference value of 0.8923, making it the recommended best investigator. The developed system successfully automates the weighting, ranking, and reporting processes, thereby supporting a more objective, transparent, and measurable decision-making process. The novelty of this study lies in the development of a web-based DSS that integrates administrative and behavioral performance indicators into a single evaluation model for investigator reward selection, providing a more comprehensive assessment than conventional evaluation approaches.
