The components used in this income analysis include production costs, revenue, profit, as well as business feasibility analysis using R/C, B/C, ROI, and BEP. The research was conducted using a purposive sampling method, in which the selected broiler farmer operates at a scale of 4,000 chickens per cycle, with six production cycles per year. The results of the study show that the average production cost per cycle is IDR 151,368,744, revenue is IDR 165,860,280, and profit is IDR 14,491,506. The R/C of this business is 1.09, The B/C is 0.1, ROI is 9%, production BEP is 6,812 kg, and price BEP is IDR 24,190,-. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the broiler business at Farm X in Upau Subdistrict, Tabalong Regency is profitable and feasible.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine the effect of different concentrations of Lactobacillus plantarum starter culture on the organoleptic characteristics of cow milk dadih. The experimental design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments included untreated cow milk dadih (P0), cow milk dadih with the addition of Lactobacillus plantarum starter at concentrations of 2% (P1), 3% (P2), 4% (P3), and 5% (P4). The material used in this study was cow’s milk. The observed variables were organoleptic characteristics (color, texture, aroma, taste, and level of preference) assessed through a hedonic test by 10 panelists. The data obtained were analyzed using the non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis comparative test. If the Kruskal-Wallis test showed significant differences, it was followed by the Mann-Whitney test to identify which treatments differed significantly. Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS software. The analysis results showed that the addition of Lactobacillus plantarum had no significant effect on the color and taste of the dadih (P>0.05), but had a significant effect on texture, aroma, and level of preference (P<0.05). It was concluded that the addition of Lactobacillus plantarum starter at a concentration of 3% (P2) was the best treatment, providing a stronger aroma, a texture closer to panelist preferences, and the highest level of preference compared to the other treatments.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of different inclusion levels of Indigofera zollingeriana leaf meal on the production performance and economic efficiency of male Alabio ducks. The research was motivated by the need for high-quality, cost-effective local feed ingredients to reduce reliance on conventional feedstuffs. A completely randomized design was employed with five treatments (0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% Indigofera leaf meal) and five replications, each with four ducks. Diets were formulated to be iso-protein (16%) and iso-caloric (±2,900 kcal/kg) and were provided ad libitum for five weeks. Results indicated that inclusion of Indigofera leaf meal up to 20% did not significantly affect feed intake, body weight gain, or feed conversion ratio. The highest final body weight was achieved at 15% inclusion (1,322 g/bird), while the highest Income Over Feed Cost was recorded at 20% inclusion (Rp 14,531.15/bird). These findings highlight a balance between biological performance and economic efficiency, where 15% is optimal for growth, while 20% is more profitable financially. This research contributes to the sustainable utilization of local alternative feed resources and provides a scientific basis for economical and efficient poultry diet formulation. Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of adding roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) flower extract to Tris-egg yolk extender on the post-thaw motility and viability of frozen semen from Etawah crossbred (PE) goats. The research was conducted from April to June 2025 at the Abadi Maju Farmers Group and the Animal Reproduction Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Lambung Mangkurat University, Banjarbaru. Semen was collected from four PE goat bucks and diluted with Tris-egg yolk extender supplemented with roselle extract at concentrations of 0% (P0/control), 1% (P1), 3% (P2), and 5% (P3). The study used a completely randomized design with four replications per treatment. Data were analyzed using ANOVA or Kruskal-Wallis test depending on data distribution. The results showed that the addition of roselle extract had no significant effect (P>0.05) on post-thaw motility or viability. However, descriptively, P2 (3%) exhibited the highest motility (47.50%) and viability (52.00%) compared to other treatments. These findings suggest that supplementation with 3% roselle extract in Tris-egg yolk extender tends to better preserve the motility and viability of frozen semen in PE goats. Further research is needed to optimize the concentration and evaluate its effect on fertility.

Abstract

Mamar Village, South Amuntai District, North Hulu Sungai Regency is known as a center for duck egg hatching and breeding. The breeding and hatching business carried out is still highly traditional, so the amount of profit and the feasibility of the business are not properly calculated. This study aims to analyze the duck egg hatching business, assess its feasibility, and determine the break-even point for independent farmers in Mamar Village. The research used a case study method. Data collection techniques included participatory observation and in-depth interviews. The business analysis observation variables were calculated over a one-month period, including production costs, revenue, and profit. Feasibility analysis was measured using the B/C ratio and break-even point. The results of the duck egg hatching analysis showed production costs of IDR 9,012,123, sales revenue of IDR 10,844,900, and a profit of IDR 1,832,777. The business feasibility analysis based on the B/C ratio was 0.2, with a production break-even point of 1,502 ducklings and a price break-even point of IDR 5,800. Based on this analysis, Mr. Idun’s duck egg hatching business is profitable and feasible to continue.

Abstract

The poultry processing industry, particularly broiler chicken, plays a vital role in meeting the demand for animal protein in Indonesia. The increase in chicken consumption, as recorded by the Ministry of Agriculture (BPS, 2024), creates opportunities for the development of poultry slaughterhouses (TPUs). This study aims to assess the economic feasibility of TPU Pak Nasir in Kotabaru Regency, South Kalimantan. The method used is financial analysis, with calculations of Benefit/Cost Ratio (B/C Ratio) and Break-Even Point (BEP). The results show that TPU Pak Nasir has a B/C Ratio of 1.99, indicating high financial feasibility. The BEP Price of 25,376 IDR/kg and BEP Production of 29,907 chickens per month indicate the minimum price and volume needed to break even. Sensitivity analysis shows that the business can sustain even with a 10% decline in gross revenue and has the potential for higher profits if revenue increases.
