Abstract

Hidup sebagai orang kristen merdeka adalah hak setiap orang percaya. Istilah ‘kemerdekaan’ atau ‘merdeka’ adalah suatu harapan akan kehidupan yang terbebas dari beban dan tekanan hidup dari pihak asing. Tidak ada keuntungan dan kenikmatan dalam hidup manusia jika hidup serasa dijajah, ditekan, dibebani oleh hal-hal yang seharusnya tidak perlu menjadi beban; apalagi jika hal tersebut berlangsung selama berpuluh tahun. Menjadi orang kristen sejati adalah menjadi orang kristen merdeka. Yesus Kristus adalah Sang Pembebas setiap orang yang datang kepada-Nya. “Kemerdekaan kristen terletak pada kebebasan seorang kristen yang telah diubahkan oleh Kristus menjadi manusia baru sesuai dengan kehendak Allah untuk hidup berbuah, berdampak dan berkenan kepada Allah.” Dengan metode kualitatif dan pendekatan studi kepustakaan, penulis menggali tujuan surat Galatia ditulis kepada orang kristen Galatia, yakni agar mereka menjadi orang merdeka. Hal ini berarti hidup yang terbebas dari beban dan kutuk dosa. Menjadi kristen merdeka adalah menghidupi suatu hidup yang baru, hidup yang dipimpin dan digerakan oleh Roh Kudus sesuai dengan kehendak Allah. Tidak ada tekanan dan tuntutan dari pihak asing yang pada akhirnya menjadikan hidup orang kristen merdeka membosankan dan kaku. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa orang kristen merdeka adalah orang yang ‘benar-benar merdeka’ karena Kristus sudah memerdekakan semua orang percaya. Menjadi orang kristen merdeka tidak sama dengan menjadi seorang kristen-legalis. Menjadi orang kristen merdeka tidak sama dengan menaati semua peraturan sesuai dengan peraturan “keagamaan kristen.”

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe people's perceptions regarding the menenggetti tradition and to find out Jurgen Moltman's theological reflection on the hopes contained in menenggetti. This research uses qualitative research methods using two approaches, literature study and interviews. The community's view of menenggetti is that it is a tradition of menenggetti carried out by parents for the beru they love who have been married for a long time but do not have children, menenggetti as a place to pray and ask for offspring to be given to their beru, the food brought during menenggetti is only an intermediary for God's blessings to descend upon them. family. The results of this research indicate that the expectations contained in menenggetti reflect the expectations expressed by Jurgen Moltmann

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of adolescents who experience many problems about love that no longer appear to surface both in the midst of society and especially fellow Christian adolescents because human life is hit by a crisis of faith characterized by high egoism, arrogance, envy, spite, an attitude that does not care about others who are lacking, loss of brotherhood, loss of mutual respect,  depletion of fraternal ties, The breakup of the help-relief union, forcing one's own will on others and disrespect for each other in GPP teenager Aek Nauli.  This study aims to find out how the practice of loving others, especially for GPP teenager Aek Nauli by emulating Mother Teresa in terms of love. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The author collects data from various literature sources in the form of theological journals, articles or books that are in accordance with the topic that is the subject of study. Researchers make observations on the phenomenon of today's adolescent life. Where Mother Teresa's practice of loving is to love sincerely, She loves everyone, because She sees the face of Jesus in whom She loves. Youth as future successors of the church must know the life of love through the teachings of the Bible, so as to increasingly live the practice of love taught by God by imitating Mother Teresa.

Abstract

Domestic violence often occurs in family life, including in Christian families. The understanding of the husband as the head of the family is often interpreted as if the husband is a head or boss who is served by his servants. The wife is considered to be someone who is lower in position than her husband. Paul in Ephesians 5:22-33 emphasizes the relationship between the husband as the head of the family towards his wife like Christ as the head of the congregation. This is the relationship between husband and wife that God desires in the household life of believers, namely loving each other. This paper uses a qualitative writing method, namely the library research approach. The library research method will be carried out through the collection of library data such as books, journals and internet sources.

Abstract

Jesus in John 10:30 said: “I and the Father are one” - a statement that offended the Jews at that time because Jesus equated Himself with God (Yahweh). Through qualitative research methods, the author explores the meaning of Jesus’ statement. The purpose and intent of Jesus' statement was so that every believer, both at that time and in the future, would pay more serious attention to His words that showed His divinity. It is understandable that Jesus’ statement about Himself that He and God the Father are one (the same) invites everyone to conclude that He sees Himself as equal to God. Jesus’ claim to be equal to the Father is true and proven (John 14:1). Jesus positions Himself as the object of faith of every believer. Seeing the evidence of Jesus' equality with the Father in John 14:10b, he said that what I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in Me does His works. So when Jesus speaks, the Father works through him. Jesus in His statements repeatedly said that the Father dwells in Him, and Jesus only does the work of His Father.

Abstract

Penderitaan menjadi tema penting dalam teologi. Banyak orang bisa memahami bahwa Allah turut bekerja dalam segala hal untuk mendatangkan kebaikan. Tapi tidak sedikit yang menggerutu, kecewa, putus asa, bahkan sampai meninggalkan imannya, akibat penderitaan yang dialami. Tidak terkecuali orang-orang percaya dalam Alkitab, banyak yang sampai gugur imannya karena derita yang berkepanjangan. Hiruk pikuk penderitaan menjadi konsumsi teologi yang banyak digeluti dan ditorehkan dalam Alkitab, hingga lahir teologi penderitaan. Penderitaan adalah alat yang Allah gunakan untuk membuat kita lebih peka, dan disiapkan untuk mencapai tujuanNya dalam kehidupan kita. Penderitaan dirancang untuk membangun kepercayaan kita kepada Yang Mahakuasa, akan tetapi penderitaan menuntut respons yang tepat agar dapat berhasil dalam menyelesaikan maksud-maksud Tuhan. Penderitaan menekan kita untuk meninggalkan kekuatan diri sendiri kepada hidup oleh iman dalam kekuatan yang berasal dari Allah.

Abstract

This article provides a theological explanation from the perspective of the Old Testament on how theological understanding of the Sabbath year. From the perspective of Old Testament theology, God is the only Creator of heaven, earth (land) and all its contents. Then humans are given the responsibility to cultivate and maintain all creations well. Because land has an important role in human life, land can actually be cultivated in such a way for the survival of creation. From the description of Old Testament theology, this article then develops an implication in Batak culture. In Batak culture, land is considered sacred because it is believed to be a gift from Debata Mulajadi Nabolon (DMN). Without land, humans cannot sustain their survival. The concept of the Sabbath Year (rest) in Leviticus 25:1-7 emphasizes the importance of rest for the land in order to realize that God is the owner of the land. It is a form of worship and has the same meaning in celebrations before God. In the New Testament (NT) Jesus said that God is the rest itself. Jesus emphasized that the Sabbath should not lose its true meaning and purpose, namely to be able to do diaconia.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the example of parents based on Titus 2:1-10 as en effort to educate children in the family. The research used qualitative fields methods in the form of interview were 6 people consisiting of: 2 men who were married, 2 women who were married, 2 teenage children. In depening the research, deep indicators were formed to build a grid of questions according to Exemplary in Titus 2:1-10. Through question variables, it is necessary to find out the extent of parental example in educating children in the congregation and teaching these variables as parents effort to educate children in the family. Based on the research result, it can be concluded that parent have not been able to become ideal role models as a basis for educating children. The role of parents in educating children is very important. Elders and Pastors must make serious efforts to implement effective methods, one of which is to teach the keys to achieving exemplary living by teaching sound Teachings as stated in Titus 2:1-10.
