Abstract

This study aims to find out the use of mobile libraries at MIS Miftahul Khair, to find out the programs implemented by the mobile library managers in the city of Binjai in the use of mobile libraries for the reading interest of MIS Miftahul Khair students, to find out the constraints that exist in the use of mobile libraries on the city of Binjai. This type of research is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The techniques used in data collection are interviews, observation, and documentation. While the data analysis technique goes through three stages, namely, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the management of the use of mobile libraries to entrust book collections at MIS Miftahul Khair has gone well, both in terms of planning, organizing, actuating, monitoring, and evaluating. As well as programs that have been implemented on the part of the school can increase students' interest in reading at MIS Miftahul Khair. And the constraints of the library around the city of Binjai include collections with the same title, there are still not many of them, the borrowing time limit is still minimal, and the implementation program is still not optimal.

Abstract

This research examines the acceptance of the North Sumatra State Islamic University Library Repository system by students of the 2017 Stambuk Library Science Study Program. The aim of the research is to measure the level of system acceptance from perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease (PeoU), attitude towards use (AtU), interest. usage behavior (BltU), actual system usage (ASU). Data was collected using an online survey from 90 respondents, consisting of 3 classes of Library Science Study Program students. A quantitative approach is applied using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to measure the level of acceptance of perceived usefulness, perceived convenience, attitudes towards use, behavioral interest in use and actual use of the system. Based on data analysis, the following results were obtained: perceived usefulness had a significant effect on perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness had a significant effect on attitude towards use, perceived ease of use) perceived usefulness has a significant effect on attitudes towards use, perceived ease of use has a significant effect on behavioral intention to use, behavioral intent to use has a significant effect on actual use of the repository system (actual system use), attitude towards use has no effect on actual use of the UINSU repository system (actual system Use). This research contributes to improving human resources for librarians, system stability in utilizing the repository system.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability of SMA Negeri 1 Bandar students to analyze hoax news on social media, the ability of SMA Negeri 1 Bandar students to access hoax news on social media, the ability of SMA Negeri 1 Bandar students to evaluate hoax news on social media, and the relationship between media literacy skills. SMA Negeri 1 Bandar students in tackling hoax news on social media. This study uses quantitative research methods using questionnaires or questionnaires as a means of collecting data obtained from respondents. The population of this study were students of class XI majoring in science and social studies as many as 418 students with a total sample of 80 students who were determined by the slovin formula. The sampling technique used to determine the sample is purposive sampling. To measure the relationship between the media literacy abilities of SMA Negeri 1 Bandar students in tackling hoax news on social media and test hypotheses using the Spearman's Rho Rank-Order Correlations formula and Guilford's calculations. The results showed that media literacy ability has a positive relationship with a value of 0.894 which indicates a high relationship in tackling hoax news

Abstract

This research discusses the collection development strategy at the Medan City Library and Archives Service during the Covid-19 pandemic, where the core of this problem is how library managers create strategies to optimize collection development activities that are hampered during the pandemic, as well as implementing policies to overcome prominent changes. at the Medan City Library and Archives Service during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The type of research used in this thesis is qualitative research with a descriptive approach, namely describing and describing the data and then analyzing the data obtained from the field so that the data and information obtained are explained without any engineering. The data collection technique for this research is through a process of observation, interviews and documentation. There were 4 informants in this research, consisting of the head of the library materials development and processing section, library staff, and staff in the field of library materials conservation. The results of the research show that the changes that occurred during the Covid-19 pandemic in the Medan City Library and Archives Service were reduced visitor hours, reduced government budgets for libraries, and collection development activities such as selection and procurement of library materials were hampered. This causes library managers to make strategies by reducing procurement, minimizing designated collection branches and making plans to focus on electronic collections.

Abstract

The research that has been carried out is entitled "Regional Library Promotion in Increasing Visitors to the Tanjungbalai City Regional Library" where what will be studied in this research is the promotion carried out, the supporting and inhibiting aspects of the promotion, the strengths and weaknesses of the promotion carried out, things The aim is to increase library visitors. The research methodology uses a qualitative research approach. In this research, social case study research was used. This means that researchers conduct studies or analyze a social problem that occurs or is related to the general public. The data sources in this research are the results of interviews, related documents and observations. Resource persons were selected based on their positions and duties in carrying out library functions and several visitors they met during the research. Data collection techniques using interviews, document study and observation. Data is processed by reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. The results of the research explain that (1) the Tanjungbalai Regional Library carries out various promotions to increase visitors, (2) The biggest obstacle in implementing promotions is related to funds and lack of personnel (3) The advantage of promotions is not in the activities, but in the persistence of the assigned personnel ( 4) Even though it is not large, the promotion carried out can be considered to have increased visitors to regional libraries.
