Abstract

This research focuses on the development strategy of Women Farmer Groups (KWT) through the Sustainable Food Farms (P2L) program in Parepare City. Analysis of internal and external factors shows that the success of KWT is influenced by forces such as government support through P2L, strong KWT institutions, and the availability of companions. Meanwhile, weaknesses include a lack of fulfillment of market demands and internal group conflicts. In facing opportunities and threats, the proposed strategy involves selecting crops with short harvest times, partnerships with farmers and traders, and increasing group awareness of the final results of the P2L program. Applying the SWOT matrix produces main strategies, such as increasing production by focusing on crops of interest, diversifying plantings, and optimizing yard functions. The research concludes that the KWT in Parepare City is in an aggressive condition, showing significant development potential. This development strategy includes strengthening institutions, increasing production, and diversifying crops to optimize the potential of natural and human resources. Education, training, and new technologies are keys to success in overcoming challenges such as price fluctuations and climate change in the urban agricultural sector.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and compare the feasibility of Karasa micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with e-commerce and conventional sales models in Cempa District, Pinrang Regency. The aspects analyzed include business costs, revenues, revenues, and business feasibility using the R/C ratio method. The results showed that both business models have business feasibility, but conventional sales models generate higher revenues compared to e-commerce models. This is due to several factors, such as the lack of understanding of business actors in operating e-commerce platforms and customer preferences to buy products directly.

Abstract

The main problems in developing the Arabian chicken farming business in the grower phase in Panreng Village are cultivation which still uses simple equipment, limited capital, risk of chicken death, and location close to residential areas. This research aims to formulate a business development strategy using SWOT analysis and the Internal-External (I-E) matrix. The methods include collecting primary and secondary data, analyzing internal and external factors, and formulating strategies based on IFAS and EFAS results. The IFAS analysis results show an average score of 2.79, with the main strengths being the ease of obtaining DOC raw materials and guaranteed harvest marketing. Meanwhile, the results of the EFAS analysis show an average score of 2.54, with the main opportunities being the high demand for Arabic chicken meat and increasing employment opportunities. Based on the I-E matrix and SWOT analysis, the business position is in quadrant I, indicating strong conditions and opportunities. Therefore, an aggressive strategy is recommended, including utilization of raw materials, increasing farmer motivation, and optimizing crop marketing. The implementation of this strategy is expected to increase the productivity and sustainability of the grower phase Arabian chicken farming business in Panreng Village.

Abstract

Dependence on expensive conventional feed ingredients encourages substitution with local feed ingredients, including taro leaves. This study examines the effect of adding taro leaf flour (Colocasia esculenta) to the ration on the water content and cooking loss of Mojosari duck meat. The method used was a completely randomized design with four treatments, namely 0% (control), 1%, 3%, and 5% taro leaf flour. Each treatment was repeated five times. The addition of taro leaf flour had a significant effect on the water content and cooking loss of duck meat. The water content of duck meat in the treatment was 0% (68.53%), 1% (69.82%), 3% (69.29%), and 5% (70.37%). The cooking loss of duck meat in the treatment was 0% (16.66%), 1% (20.00%), 3% (23.33%), and 5% (26.66%). From these results, it can be seen that the addition of 1% taro leaf flour did not provide a significant difference in water content and cooking loss compared to the control, while the addition of 3% and 5% gave significantly different results. The addition of 1% taro leaf flour to the ration is the best in maintaining meat quality significantly so it is worthy of being used as an alternative feed ingredient.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of production costs on the income of salted fish fishermen in Kupa Village, Mallusetasi District, Barru Regency. The production costs analyzed include variable costs and fixed costs. This research used a quantitative descriptive approach with a population of 36 salted fish fishermen who were all sampled. Data was collected from October to December 2023 for three months and analyzed to calculate production costs and fishermen's income. The research results show that the largest variable cost is gasoline, with an average variable cost per month of IDR 4,465,667 and fixed costs of IDR 852,024. The average total production cost per month is IDR 5,317,691. The largest income comes from anchovy salted fish, with a total income for three months of IDR 295,500,000 and an average monthly income of IDR 8,208,333. The total profit fishermen earn is IDR 104,063,125, with an average monthly profit of IDR 2,890,642. This research shows that production costs significantly influence fishermen's income, and good cost management, especially variable costs, is very important to increase the income and profits of salted fish fishermen in Kupa Village.

Abstract

This study aims to increase the productivity of baby corn plants in latosol soil by administering eggshell flour and chicken manure. Latosol soil that dominates Indonesia has high acidity levels and low organic matter content, so it requires effective soil improvers. The experiment used a factorial randomized block plan. Soil analysis showed an increase in pH after treatment. Although statistical analysis did not show a significant difference, the observation results showed that the T3A2 combination gave the best results in plant height and cob length. These results are relevant as initial information for the development of environmentally friendly organic waste-based soil improvers, especially to increase productivity on marginal land. The practical implication is that the use of this organic material can be an economical alternative for farmers to reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the best growing medium for the mycelium growth of F1 oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) seeds using millet flour as a nutritional supplement. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was applied with two factors: the type of growing medium (corn, sawdust, rice husks) and the concentration of millet flour (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%). Observed variables included mycelium growth (cm), mycelium density, and daily growth on the 7th, 14th, and 21st days after inoculation. The results indicated that corn without millet flour (J1P0) produced the best mycelium growth, while adding 25% millet flour to corn (J1P1) and sawdust (J2P1) enhanced mycelium density. However, higher millet concentrations (50% and 75%) tended to reduce growth efficiency due to excessive moisture content. This study recommends using millet flour at low concentrations to improve the efficiency of sustainable F1 oyster mushroom seed production.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effect of Artemia enrichment with garlic (Allium sativum) on the growth and survival of vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) post-larvae. Using a completely randomized design (CRD), four garlic enrichment doses were tested: 0 ppm (control), 250 ppm, 500 ppm, and 750 ppm, with three replicates each. Results showed no significant effect on larval growth, with the highest length recorded at 11.5 mm. However, survival increased significantly, reaching 88.28% at 750 ppm. Allicin in garlic likely acts as a natural immunostimulant, enhancing larval resistance to stress and infection. The optimal dose for Artemia enrichment is 750 ppm. This study highlights garlic’s potential as a natural ingredient to improve vannamei shrimp hatchery practices.
