Abstract

The conversion of land into settlements is increasing every year, resulting in reduced agricultural land. The lack of agricultural land makes people in urban areas have to grow crops with urban farming concepts such as oyster mushroom cultivation. The concept of urban farming is one of the best solutions that can be implemented in a city like Parepare. Cultivating oyster mushrooms with the concept of urban farming is expected to increase people's income in Parepare City. This activity will be held at the Mushroom Cafe in March - April 2023. The formulation of this activity is that the people of Parepare City lack agricultural land and lack knowledge about urban farming. The purpose of this activity is so that people can apply the concept of urban farming by cultivating oyster mushrooms. This activity was carried out using 3 methods, namely: 1) socialization, 2) training and 3) practice. The stages of this activity are, 1) the community is given material on mushroom cultivation starting from preparing the tools and materials needed for harvesting and marketing, 2) the community is given the opportunity to practice directly accompanied by resource persons and 3) the community practices independently what has been given by resource persons. As a result of these activities, the people of Parepare City enthusiastically listened to every material presented and carried out hands-on practice. The conclusion from this activity is that the people of Parepare City are interested in applying the concept of urban farming with oyster mushroom cultivation.

Abstract

Mallusetasi District, Barru Regency is trying to improve the agricultural sector in horticultural commodities. Horticultural crops are the mainstay, although it is not yet known and determined which leading horticultural sector will be developed by related parties, in this case the local government. This study aims to analyze the base sector in Mallusetasi District, Barru Regency. The method used in this study is location quotient (LQ) analysis to determine the base sector, dynamic location quotient (DLQ) analysis to determine development potential this year and the next few years and SWOT analysis to determine strategies in developing base sector commodities in Mallusetasi District. The results showed that the horticultural commodity which became the basis sector with superior classification was watermelon. In the development effort through SWOT analysis it was found that the watermelons cultivated in Mallusetasi District were in a position to grow and develop with an aggressive strategy which meant that farmers had to be able to use their power to optimize the use of opportunities in the form of assistance from the government, market access and superior seeds for horticultural commodities.

Abstract

Sandy loam soil is one alternative to support food security by using rice husk biochar enriched with Pleurotus ostreatus as an organic waste agricultural soil conditioner. This study aims to increase the growth and production of shallots (Allium cepa) in sandy loam soil with the application of Biochar enriched rice husk Pleurotus ostreatus. The research method used a non-factorial Randomised Group Design (RAK) with 4 levels, namely: 1) No treatment, 2) Rice husk biochar enriched with Pleurotus ostreatus 10 grams, 3) Biochar rice husk enriched with Pleurotus ostreatus 15 grams and 4) Biochar rice husk enriched with Pleurotus ostreatus 20 grams. The use of organic matter biochar rice husk enriched with Pleurotus ostreatus had no significant effect on sprouting speed, number of shoots, and weight of tuber clump-1. The use of organic matter biochar rice husk enriched Pleurotus ostreatus significantly affects the root diameter (πm) of shallot plants with the best treatment produced organic biochar rice husk enriched Pleurotus ostreatus 20 grams which is 0.42πm. The use of rice husk biochar enriched with Pleurotus ostreatus with the right dose can increase the growth rate and production of shallot plants in sandy loam soil

Abstract

Background: Kurangnya minat generasi muda di sektor pertanian disebabkan beberapa kendala, yaitu modal terbatas, dan tidak memiliki keterampilan bertani, dan lemahnya pengetahuan teknologi. Jika terus dibiarkan maka angkatan kerja pertanian adalah tenaga kerja usia tua. Hal tersebut akan berdampak pada ketimpangan produksi dan mengancam ketahanan pangan nasional. Kegiatan ini dilakukan untuk melatih dan memberdayakan generasi milenial untuk menghasilkan kompetensi dan daya saing melalui pelatihan teknologi budidaya pertanian. Metode: Mitra dalam kegiatan ini adalah Angkatan Muda Muhammadiyah (AMM) yang ada di Kota Parepare sebagai generasi muda yang potensi, dimana peserta terdiri dari perwakilan AMM meliputi Pemuda Muhammadiyah (10 orang), IPM (5 orang) dan IMM (5 orang). Metode yang digunakan meliputi pendidikan/penyuluhan dan pelatihan/demonstrasi teknologi sederhana dan tepat guna. Hasil: Hasil kegiatan telah memberikan pemahaman kepada peserta pentingnya inovasi dan adopsi teknologi dengan bahan sederhana dalam bertani untuk memudahkan pekerjaan serta murah dan efisien. Beberapa paket teknologi yang didemonstrasikan adalah pembuatan alat tanam benih, alat tabur pupuk, dan alat semprot tanpa tangki gendong. Kesimpulan: Kegiatan dapat membangun perubahan pemipikiran peserta untuk melakukan usaha tani dengen menerapkan teknologi sederhana melalui intensifikasi.

Abstract

Kacang hijau (Vigna radiata L) tergolong salah satu komoditi yang resisten terhadap cekaman kekeringan. Meski demikian, kacang hijau juga memiliki periode kritis khususnya pada periode perkecambahan, menjelang berbunga dan pengisian polong. Peningkatan serapan air dan unsur hara di lahan kering dan kurang subur dapat dilakukan dengan mengaplikasikan agen hayati vesikula arbuskula mikoriza (VAM). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon pertumbuhan kacang hijau akibat VAM pada berbagai bentuk sediaan dan diharapkan dapat menjadi bahan informasi pada masyarakat mengenai pemanfaatan VAM dalam berbagai bentuk sediaan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Bukit Harapan, Kecamatan Soreang Kota Parepare, Sulawesi Selatan pada ketinggian 37 m dpl dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) satu faktor yaitu aplikasi VAM dalam bentuk sediaan tablet, shazet dan serbuk. Peubah yang diukur adalah panjang akar, volume akar, tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, dan berat kering. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bentuk sediaan VAM memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap peubah panjang akar, volume akar, tinggi tanaman dan berat kerig tanaman kacang hijau. Sehingga bentuk sediaan tablet dan sachet dapat direkomendasikan sebagai bentuk sediaan alternatif untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan kacang hijau di area pertanaman.

Abstract

The use of local materials in the creative industry is now leading to a global economic market. This also had an impact on the women in the Jampue Village PKK who used shell waste as a household-scale craft industry. This service activity aims to educate PKK women in Jampue Village to be more creative in utilizing shell waste as a mainstay product that can compete in the international market. The stages of implementation carried out are by means of socialization and workshops regarding the procedures for making and selecting shells that have the potential to be used as household scale crafts. The implementation of this mentoring program was able to increase the understanding of PKK women in Jampue Village regarding the potential of shell waste which can be used as crafts.

Abstract

Agricultural waste becomes a major post-harvest problem if not processed correctly. Post-harvest agricultural waste processing into biochar can be the right post-harvest handling solution and can be used to improve soil nutrient structure. This study aimed to determine the use of agricultural waste biochar to increase shallot production. This study was in the form of an experiment using a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with treatments including rice husk biochar (BSP), corn cob biochar (BTJ), coconut shell biochar (BCK), rice husk biochar + corn cob biochar (BSP + BTJ), rice husk biochar + coconut shell biochar (BSP + BCK), corn cob biochar + coconut shell biochar (BTJ + BCK), and rice husk biochar + corn cob biochar + coconut shell biochar (BSP + BTJ + BCK). The results showed that using rice husk biochar, corn cob, and coconut shell individually or in combination could increase shallot production. The highest output of shallots was demonstrated in the treatment of rice husk biochar + corn cob biochar + coconut shell biochar.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Potensi pengembangan lada di Kabupaten Enrekang cukup besar mengingat kondisi geografis Kabupaten Enrekang dan masih banyaknya petani yang membudidayakan lada di Kabupaten Enrekang. Potensi lada tersebut berjalan sejajar dengan banyaknya faktor produksi yang harus dipenuhi sehingga pendapatan petani lada yang hanya bisa diperoleh sekali dalam setahun menjadi sesuatu yang dianggap masih jauh dari kata mampu memberikan kesejahteraan terhadap petani. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kelayakan usaha tani budidaya lada di Kecamatan Curio ditinjau dari segi pendapatan yang dikomparasikan dengan biaya selama proses budidaya hingga lada tersebut siap untuk dipasarkan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode analisis kelayakan R/C Ratio dimana jika nilai R/C Ratio > 1 maka usaha tani tersebut layak untuk dijalankan begitupun sebaliknya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Curio dengan membandingkan total rata-rata pendapatan petani dengan total rata-rata biaya produksi yang dikeluarkan petani ditemukan bahwa usaha tani lada di Kecamatan Curio layak untuk diusahakan karena Memiliki Nilai R/C Ratio > 1 yaitu 3.92 pada tahun 2017, 3.44 pada tahun 2018, 3.35 pada tahun 2019, 3.65 pada tahun 2020, dan 3.57 pada tahun 2020. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah budidaya lada di Kec Curio layak untuk diusahakan dan perlu untuk dikembangkan. ABSTRACT The potential for developing pepper in Enrekang Regency is quite large considering the geographical conditions of Enrekang Regency and there are still many farmers cultivating pepper in Enrekang Regency. The potential for pepper goes hand in hand with the many factors of production that must be met so that the income of pepper farmers which can only be obtained once a year is something that is considered far from being able to provide welfare to farmers. This research was conducted to find out the feasibility of pepper cultivation farming in Curio District in terms of income compared to costs during the cultivation process until the pepper is ready to be marketed. The method used in this study is the feasibility analysis method of R/C Ratio where if the value of R/C Ratio > 1 then the farming is feasible to run and vice versa. Based on the results of research conducted in Curio District by comparing the total average income of farmers with the total average production costs incurred by farmers, it was found that pepper farming in Curio District is feasible to cultivate because it has an R/C Ratio value of > 1, namely 3.92 in 2017, 3.44 in 2018, 3.35 in 2019, 3.65 in 2020, and 3.57 in 2020. The conclusion of this study is that pepper cultivation in Curio District is feasible and needs to be developed.

Abstract

Green spinach is a vegetable that can be consumed by its leaves as a green vegetable and can be used as a processed food, both as a main menu and as a processed snack. Spinach has many nutritional contents such as protein, minerals, calcium, iron and vitamins needed in the body. Iron contained in the supplement, if consumed in large doses and a long time can cause damage to the intestinal lining, abnormalities in the pH of the body, shock and liver failure. An alternative to meet iron needs can be done by consuming vegetables that contain iron, including green spinach. The purpose of community service is to provide education to the public about the content of green spinach and the processing of green spinach so that it can increase the level of public consumption. This service applies counseling methods related to spinach processing from theory to manufacturing practice. The results achieved are that the public knows about the benefits and content of green spinach which is indispensable for the body and how to process spinach leaves into spinach chips into snacks that children like because this spinach chip snack is not only delicious but also has high nutritional value.

Abstract

Perkembangan pertanian ramah lingkungan diiringi dengan tingginya permintaan produk organik. Jenis limbah rumah tangga bermacam-macam, namun sekitar 75% limbah rumah tangga merupakan sampah organik dan sisanya merupakan sampah anorganik. Sumber limbah terbesar yang dapat menyebar dan berpotensi mencemari lingkungan adalah limbah rumah tangga. Mengolah limbah ini menjadi produk yang bernilai ekonomi tinggi, seperti pupuk organik cair, merupakan salah satu penanggulangan yang dapat dilakukan. Limbah yang paling banyak dihasilkan oleh rumah tangga adalah air cucian beras dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan baku utama dalam pembuatan pupuk organik cair. Kegiatan ini menggunakan metode penyuluhan dan pelatihan bagi ibu rumah tangga dan masyarakat setempat. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi dari sesi praktek dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa kegiatan ini secara keseluruhan berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan peserta dalam pembuatan pupuk organik cair dan cara penggunaannya pada tanaman. Antusiasme peserta terhadap pelatihan terlihat selama kegiatan pelatihan ini berlangsung. Hal ini dibuktikan pada saat pemateri memaparkan data hasil uji coba penggunaan pupuk organik cair pada tanaman.
