Abstract

The development of innovative teaching supplement is adjusted to students’ needs and to complete exiting teaching material. Based on TP 11.8 until 11.11 for class XI in the Merdeka Curriculum, topic is preceded by fact and concepts which are followed by the application of these concepts in daily life. Innovative teaching supplement is developed by integrating fact and research results, especially related to respiratory system and COVID-19. The purpose of this study is to develop innovative teaching supplement “RESPICOV” to improve students learning outcomes and awareness of respiratory system health. The study was Research and Development with pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest design. The entire students of grade XI SMAN 1 Pemalang on academic year 2023/2024 was chosen at the population. The method in taking the example was purposive sampling, class XI.4, XI.5, and XI.6. Observation, questionnaire, interview, and test were methods that used in collecting the data. The result showed that the innovative teaching supplement “RESPICOV” is very worthy and effective to increase student learning outcome at 0,71 on N-gain analysis and awareness of respiratory system health at very care category. Based on the result, in can be conclude that the innovative teaching supplement “RESPICOV” is very worthy and effective to be used in material of respiratory system to increase students outcome learning and awareness of respiratory system health.

Abstract

Respiration material is material that is difficult to understand because the material coverage is broad. Learning cannot yet require students to be active and train students to discover concepts independently. The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Mind Mapping on the cognitive learning outcomes of high school students in the respiratory system material, analyze student responses, and analyze teacher responses to the application of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Mind Mapping. This research design is quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study was class XI students at SMAN 12 Semarang and the sampling technique was purposive sampling. The sample in this study was students in class XI F-2 (experimental class) and XI F-4 (control class) with 34 students in each class. Student cognitive learning outcomes were measured using test instruments in the form of pretest and posttest questions in multiple choice form, then analyzed using the classical learning mastery test, t-test and N-Gain test. Teacher responses were measured using interview instruments and student responses using a questionnaire sheet. The results of the classical learning completeness test in the experimental class were 100% with the number of students who completed it, while in the control class it was 67.6% with the number of students who completed it as many as 23 people. The results of the t-test analysis on the pretest showed that there were no significant differences between the experimental and control classes, while the t-test analysis on the posttest showed that there were significant differences between the experimental and control classes. The results of the N-Gain test showed that the increase in cognitive learning outcomes in the experimental class was in the high category at 0.77, while the control class was in the medium category at 0.38. The teacher's response to the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Mind Mapping was very good because it was effective in achieving learning outcomes and objectives, student responses showed a positive or good response to the learning carried out. The conclusion of this research is that there is an influence of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Mind Mapping in improving the cognitive learning outcomes of class XI students on the respiratory system material and getting a positive response from teachers and students.

Abstract

The era of the industrial revolution 4.0 is an era that views information technology as a basic need in human life, including in the field of education. Biology teachers are expected to have skills in utilizing information technology as a learning medium. One of the social media that can be used as a learning medium is Instagram. Instagram has interesting features that can stimulate student creativity. The purpose of this study was to analyze the use of Instagram as a learning medium for increasing creativity and student learning outcomes. This research is a quasi-experimental by looking at the comparison of creativity and learning outcomes of the experimental class using the Instagram application and the control class using PowerPoint media. The learning model used is Discovery Learning with the help of the Instagram application as a learning medium. The results of this study show the percentage increase in student creativity in the good category. Student learning outcomes cannot be said to be complete because they have not reached 75% completeness, but based on the n-gain test they are in the moderate category. From the hypothesis test, it is obtained that t-count is greater than t- . The results of this analysis show that the use of Instagram media as a learning medium influences creativity and student learning outcomes. The results of the student response questionnaire to the use of Instagram as a learning medium showed results of 79.19% in the good category. The conclusion from this study is that the use of Instagram media as a learning medium can increase the creativity and learning outcomes of students in the experimental class.

Abstract

Karimunjawa National Park is a conservation area in the northern part of the Java Seawhich has 5 types of ecosystem. This research aims to conduct research for materials for developing ecosystem e-booklets in Karimunjawa National Park as a supplement to teaching materials and test the validity, readability and effectiveness of e-booklets to improve student learning outcomes. This research is a type of research and development or R&D (research and development). The development procedure used in developing this e-booklet is the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate). The biological research method used is pure descriptive research or survey by conducting explorationField data collection in Karimunjawa National Park, Designe-bookletwhich has been valid after being revised based on validator input and high readability, then tested for effectiveness. Testing the effectiveness of the e-booklet was carried out on cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects using post-test question instruments, attitude assessment questionnaires and LKPD. The effectiveness test was carried out on 33 class X students. The results of the research showed that the ecosystem in Karimunjawa National Park was in good condition with diverse flora and fauna. The ecosystem e-booklet in Karimunjawa National Park is very suitable, has high readability, and is effective for improving learning outcomes in cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the ecosystem e-booklet in Karimunjawa National Park as a supplement to teaching materials is effective in improving the learning outcomes of students at SMA Negeri 1 Donorojo.

Abstract

One of the government's efforts to support 21st century education is by implementing a new education program known as the independent learning program, one of which is driving schools. One of the dimensions of the Pancasila student profile in driving schools is that students must be able to think creatively. In developing creative thinking skills, students must be active in the learning process so teachers need to design learning patterns that can involve students being active in order to influence creative thinking abilities. The research design used was a pre-experimental design with a one group pre test-post test design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a sample size of 45 students. The data collection technique uses tests and observations which are analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis and simple linear regression analysis. The research results showed that 76% of students were able to reach the medium level creative category, namely in the aspects of flexibility, originality and elaboration. Student activities in project-based learning have a significant effect on students' creative thinking abilities. The influence of student activities in project-based learning on creative thinking skills is 21.1% with a significance level of 0.002 <0.05. There is a positive correlation between student activities in project-based learning and creative thinking abilities. For every 1% increase in student activity scores in project-based learning, the creative thinking ability score increases by 1.440.

Abstract

The use of printed teaching materials in schools is less attractive to students and the ability to solve problems owned by students is relatively below average so that the basic competencies set have not been achieved. Advances in science and technology can be utilized to provide more varied teaching materials such as e-modules. The purpose of this study was to analyze the feasibility, practicality and effectiveness of e-modules in the learning process. The research design used is development (R&D) using the ADDIE model with the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The feasibility of e-modules is determined based on the validation of material experts and media experts. The practicality of e-modules is determined based on student responses and teacher responses. The effectiveness of e-modules is determined based on students' classical completeness and N-gain. The results showed that the material expert validation value was 90.27% (very feasible) and the media expert validation value was 92.85% (very feasible). The results of the e-module's practicality was that the teacher rated it as very practical. In the small-scale trial, all students rated practical. In the large-scale trial, 90.32% of students rated very practical and 9.68% of students rated practical. The effectiveness of the e-module was proven to be effective in improving students' problem solving ability with an N-gain of 0.61 with a medium category and a classical completeness of 93.33%.

Abstract

     The blended learning strategy in biology education at SMA Negeri 11 Semarang faces challenges such as limited face-to-face time, teacher-centered methods, and limited student interaction, resulting in an uninteresting experience and low learning outcomes in Class X 2020 Final Semester Assessment (PAS) /2021 Ecosystem Topic. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the guided discovery model based on blended learning on students' learning interest and cognitive learning outcomes in the ecosystem topic at SMA N 11 Semarang. Using a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control class, Class X MIPA 5 was the experimental class, and Class XI MIPA 6 served as the control class. The research instruments included pre-tests, post-tests, a learning interest questionnaire, and an observation sheet. The results that the experimental class showed high interest and had significant differences in cognitive learning outcomes compared to the control class. There is a positive correlation between interest and learning outcomes. The implementation of guided discovery based on blended learning on the topic of ecosystems is categorized as very high. It is concluded that the guided discovery model based on blended learning proved effective in developing students' interest and enhancing their cognitive learning outcomes in the ecosystem subject.

Abstract

In learning material about NAPZA, learning media that involve  collaborative process among students to solve issues related to drug misuse is essential during high school education. The existing NAPZA abuse learning media at SMA N 1 Slawi have been found to be limited in terms of contextual relevance and student engagement in collaborative problem-solving activities. Thus, there is a need to develop problem-based learning media for NAPZA material. This study aims to analyze the validity of the content and media of the E-LKPD product, as well as assess the improvement in collaboration and problem-solving abilities of high school students using the NAPZA E-LKPD based on problem. This research was conducted at Senior High School 1 Slawi even semester. The research adopts a research and development method, following the ADDIE model (analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). NAPZA E-LKPD based on problem was declared highly valid with an assessment of 98.64% by media experts and 97.58% by material  experts. Based on the result of this research, NAPZA E-LKPD based on problem proves to enhance students' collaboration abillity. Additionally, the E-LKPD NAPZA based on problem significantly improves high school students' problem-solving ability.

Abstract

      Basic competence in digestive system material requires critical thinking skills, facts in the field students' critical thinking skills still need to be optimized. The ability to think critically is able to encourage students to find concepts and practice science process skills. The purpose of the study was to examine the effect of the Discovery Learning Natural Environment Exploration model on students' critical thinking and science process skills and determine the relationship between critical thinking skills and science process skills. This quantitative research used a pre-experiment one group pretest and posttest design. This study involved students of SMA N 1 Cawas Class XI MIPA with a research sample of 70 students. The data obtained are in the form of test results of critical thinking skills, science process skills and syntax implementation data. The N-gain results obtained increased critical thinking skills and science process skills at moderate levels, with N-gain scores of 0.7 and 0.67. The results of Wallis's crucial test obtained significance values of 0.001 and 0.04, meaning that the Discovery Learning Natural Environment Exploration model affects critical thinking skills and science process skills. The results of the Spearman correlation test obtained a coefficient value of 0.749 (strong). The conclusion of this study is that the Discovery Learning Natural Environment Exploration model is influential in improving students' critical thinking skills and science process skills, critical thinking skills are strongly correlated with science process skills.

Abstract

Biology is a subject that is closely related to living things and their environment. Biology learning especially on biodiversity material, must be relevant to the lives of students, therefore it is needed to develop teaching materials based on the local potential to maximize learning processes and learning outcomes. This research aims to analyze biodiversity in Demak Regency, analyze feasibility and readability, and measure the increase of student learning outcomes when using biodiversity booklet in Demak Regency as a supplement of teaching material. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 3 Demak in the odd semester of 2022/2023. The research uses Research and Development (RnD) type. To analyze the increase in cognitive learning outcomes using the One-Group-Pretest-Posttest-Design, to analyze psychomotor and affective learning outcomes using the One-Shot Case Study. The subjects to collect readability data are 15 students of class X-10 taken by purposive sampling technique and the subjects to collect learning outcomes data are students of class X-8. The results showed that gene-level diversity was found in water apple or Syzygium aqueum (Burm. f.) Alston and starfruit or Averrhoa carambola L. varieties, species diversity of mangrove that was found are 20 mangrove species, and have been found 9 types of ecosystem-level diversity. Booklet validity based on material expert’s judgment was 83,33%, 85,42% from media experts, and 88,88% from biology teacher, with "very feasible" category. The readability booklet by students got a percentage of 98,21% with “very good” criteria. The result of cognitive learning outcomes shows that the classical completeness reached 100% and based on the N-gain test, 94,44% of students got "medium to high" criteria. Psychomotor learning outcomes were obtained from exploration activities, 88,89% of students got "good to excellent" criteria and 11,11% of students got "sufficient" criteria. Affective learning outcomes were obtained from a questionnaire of conservation attitudes, 36,11% of students got "good to excellent" criteria, 47,22% of students got "sufficient" criteria, and 16,67% of students got "poor" criteria. The conclusion of this research is the development of biodiversity booklet in Demak Regency as a supplement of teaching materials is proven to be feasible to use, well readable, and effective to increase learning outcomes of students in class X Senior High School on biodiversity material.
