Abstract

This community service activity has an impact on increasing understanding of reading, writing and arithmetic and literacy in Miru Village. To improve understanding of calistung and literacy. The establishment of a tutoring house and literacy house needs consistent assistance so that children in Miru village continue to be enthusiastic about literacy and further increase their motivation to learn. This study uses the ABCD method. This method of service is used to develop an asset-based community. The researcher carried out this assistance because the interest in reading in Miru Village was previously low and there were still some children who could not understand calistung well. However, after the existence of this tutoring house and literacy house, children have increased their motivation to learn, and their enthusiasm for literacy.

Abstract

A mosque is not only a place of worship but also serves as a center for social, educational, and economic activities within the Muslim community. Effective management is essential for mosques to become independent and empowering institutions. This community service program was conducted at Baitul Muttaqin Mosque, Pakis Village, Tambakromo District, Pati Regency, using the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. The activity involved training in mosque management with the participation of lecturers, IPMAFA KKN students, mosque administrators, and congregants. The training materials included mosque management theory, the use of technology, youth empowerment, and strategies for achieving financial and organizational independence. The activity had an impact on increasing the understanding of the management regarding the importance of modern mosque management, a commitment to conduct benchmarking visits to independent mosques, more than 80% stated their desire to improve mosque management based on independence. This program marks an important step toward transforming Baitul Muttaqin Mosque into a more professional, transparent, and sustainable institution.

Abstract

This community service activity has an impact on improving the implementation of Yanbu'a method learning assistance in improving the ability to apply tajwid to students at TPQ Haniful Ulum. Rahayu Village. TPQ Haniful Ulum is a Quranic education institution serving students from early childhood to adolescence, yet it still faces challenges in achieving correct Tajweed Reading standards. The approach used in this study is participatory action research (PAR). The results show that the Yanbu’a learning method is mentored gradually and systematically through Reading habituation, repetition, and direct teacher correction. The students’ response and enthusiasm towards this method is very positive, reflected in increased participation and eagerness to learn. The teachers also demonstrate active involvement in the mentoring process. There has been a significant improvement in students’ tajweed skills, particularly in letter articulation, the length of recitation (mad), and Reading rules. The factors supporting the success of this mentoring include the availability of Yanbu’a books, teacher commitment, and a conducive learning environment. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors include limited time, a limited number of teachers, and variations in students’ ability levels in applying Tajweed. In conclusion, mentoring the Yanbu’a learning method, delivered consistently and intensively, can enhance students’ skills in applying tajweed at TPQ Haniful Ulum. To maintain and improve the results achieved, it is necessary to strengthen teacher capacity and increase supporting facilities.

Abstract

The global challenges caused by climate change and environmental degradation demand a collective response from all levels of society, especially among the younger generation. A lack of understanding of environmental issues often leads to environmentally unfriendly behavior, so an effective and engaging educational approach is needed. Community service activities have an impact on increasing environmental literacy of students at SD N 2 Padureso through pot gardening training.. This training not only introduces the basic practices of container gardening but also holistically integrates concepts of ecology, recycling, and conservation. The goal of this program is to shift students’ perspectives from being mere observers to active participants in maintaining environmental sustainability. The method used in this community service activity is Participatory Action Research (PAR), which allows students to become active subjects in the learning process. The training results showed significant changes in students’ understanding and behavior regarding environmental issues. Previously, many students were unaware of the importance of recycling and water conservation, but after the training, there was a noticeable shift in their perspectives and actions. This community service activity demonstrates that educational-practical approaches, such as pot gardening through the PAR method, are highly effective in enhancing students’ environmental literacy, with a focus on concrete actions and active participation. Thus, students not only become observers but also agents of change who care about their surrounding environment.

Abstract

Urban agrarian reform faces serious challenges due to development pressures and unequal control over urban space, which disproportionately affect marginalized communities. Kampung Putat Jaya Baru RT 7 RW 11 in Surabaya is a densely populated settlement experiencing land tenure insecurity and vulnerability to eviction. This community service activity aims to enhance critical awareness and strengthen community solidarity in addressing urban agrarian issues through participatory mapping and community organizing. The method employed is Participatory Action Research (PAR), consisting of stages of observation, participatory problem identification, community based participatory mapping, collective reflection, and joint action planning. The results indicate that participatory mapping not only produces spatial maps and data of the settlement, but also serves as a collective learning process that shifts residents perspectives from being policy objects to becoming subjects who are aware of their rights to living space. This process increases residents’ awareness of their spatial conditions, strengthens community solidarity, and builds a social data foundation for advocacy. Therefore, participatory mapping has proven effective in empowering marginalized urban communities.

Abstract

Strengthening religious understanding from an early age is an important need in the formation of the religious character of elementary school students. This religious service activity has an impact on improving students' religious understanding, skills and attitudes. This activity was carried out at the Baitul Muttaqin Mosque with a target of 35 students in grades 5 and 6 of the Bulurejo 1 Public Elementary School UPT. The program focused on training in Islamic jurisprudence in the form of procedures for ablution and obligatory prayers according to Islamic law. The method used was Participatory Action Research (PAR) through interactive lectures, demonstrations, direct practice, and evaluation. The results of the activity showed significant improvements in three aspects: knowledge, ± 90% of students were able to state the pillars and conditions for valid ablution and prayer; skills, ± 85% of students were able to practice ablution and prayer movements correctly; and attitudes, more than 80% of students demonstrated discipline, maintained cleanliness, and sincerity in worship.

Abstract

This article describes the objectives of the community service activity aimed at strengthening the religious character of children through the Saturday-Sunday Islamic Boarding School (Persada) program implemented at TPA/TPQ across Sorong City. This program emphasizes collaboration between TPA/TPQ leaders, parents, the community, BKM, and KKN students to create an environment that supports the formation of strong religious character in children. The method employed is a community-based approach involving educational activities such as tahfidz competitions, adzan competitions, and coloring contests, as well as evaluation through Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The results of the service show that the Persada program is effective in enhancing children's religious understanding and strengthening their religious character. The conclusion of this activity is that collaboration between various parties can accelerate the strengthening of children's religious character through structured and enjoyable learning.

Abstract

Basic education plays a strategic role in shaping the intellectual, emotional, and spiritual foundations of students. MI Roudlotut Tholibin Warukulon implements a Deep Learning approach as an effort to improve the quality of education in line with the Independent Curriculum. Deep Learning in the educational context is defined as an in-depth learning approach that emphasizes holistic, reflective, and meaningful conceptual understanding, rather than as artificial intelligence technology. Initial investigations indicate that this approach has the potential to improve students' conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills. However, its implementation still faces challenges such as curriculum readiness, teacher competency, and limited supporting facilities. As a follow-up, a two-day mentoring activity was conducted, focusing on strengthening deep learning concepts and developing learning instrument skills. This community service activity aims to strengthen deep learning concepts and develop learning instrument skills. This activity uses the Service Learning method with stages of investigation, team formation, preparation, action, reflection, and demonstration. This service activity has resulted in a paradigm shift in learning towards a more active, reflective, collaborative, and enjoyable approach through the integration of Meaningful Learning, Mindful Learning, and Joyful Learning.

Abstract

This Community Service activity aims to improve the capacity of the Insan Muria Bakti Pertiwi Kudus Foundation management in preparing transparent and accountable financial reports in accordance with Interpretasi Standar Akuntansi Keuangan (ISAK) 335 for non-profit entities. The problem faced by the foundation is a financial recording system that is still simple and does not meet applicable accounting standards. The method used is the Community Based Research (CBR) approach through four stages, namely laying foundation, planning, information gathering and analysis, and acting on finding. This approach allows for identification of needs and the development of solutions in a participatory manner with the foundation management. The results of the activity show an increase in the understanding and skills of the management in implementing ISAK 335, especially in preparing activity reports, reports of changes in net assets, cash flow reports, and statements of financial position more systematically. The application of these standards produces financial information that is more relevant, easy to understand, and can be accounted for to stakeholders, especially donors. This activity concluded that assistance in preparing ISAK 335-based financial reports effectively increases transparency and accountability in the foundation's financial management and supports the sustainability of non-profit organization governance. Going forward, these efforts need to be strengthened through the development of a digital financial reporting system to improve the efficiency and sustainability of organizational management.

Abstract

Remaja Islam Masjid (RISMA) plays a crucial role in supporting the mosque's role as a center for community development and empowerment, including in the economic sector. However, the economic potential of RISMA members is often underdeveloped due to low levels of entrepreneurial literacy, limited business experience, and a lack of ongoing mentoring. Most RISMA activities focus on religious activities, leaving economic empowerment a primary focus. To address these issues, a community service activity was conducted at the At Taqwa Gebang Mosque using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method. This method actively involved RISMA members in problem identification, entrepreneurship training, business mentoring, and joint evaluation. The results of the activities showed an increase in entrepreneurial understanding, the emergence of mosque-based business initiatives, and increased independence and participation among RISMA members.
