Abstract

The Dehasen University Bengkulu Thematic Community Service Program, in collaboration with BPPTIK Kominfo, conducted digital literacy training based on seven HP LIFE and Cisco modules for the community in RT 16, Jalan Sepakat 3, Kelurahan Sawah Lebar Baru. This activity was motivated by the low level of digital awareness among the community, characterized by a lack of understanding of basic technology, low confidence in the use of digital devices, and limited access to technology-based information. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of training in improving the basic competencies of the community, particularly in terms of knowledge, device usage skills, and changes in attitudes towards technology. The research used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques in the form of observations during training, interviews with participants, and documentation of activities in each module. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and thematic conclusions. The results showed that HP LIFE and Cisco module-based training had a positive impact on improving the community's digital literacy. Participants who initially showed resistance and distrust of technology began to understand the basic benefits of digital devices, were able to operate simple features, and showed interest in continuing independent learning. Factors supporting the effectiveness of the training included applicable delivery methods, intensive mentoring, and the relevance of the material to daily needs. However, infrastructure limitations and differences in education levels posed challenges that required further strategies. Overall, this training has proven effective in improving the basic digital literacy competencies of rural communities and has made a real contribution to efforts to strengthen digital capacity in the local environment.

Abstract

IVA examination (Visual Acetic Acid Inspection) is an effective and simple method of early detection of cervical cancer. This wise step allows women to check their reproductive health independently and regularly, so they can recognize abnormal changes early. By using affordable ingredients and a fast process, IVA has become the main choice in women's health programs in Indonesia. Early detection through this examination is very important to increase the chances of treatment and saving lives. Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) in pregnant women is one of the nutritional problems that has serious impacts on maternal health and fetal development. This condition commonly occurs due to limited nutritional knowledge and poor dietary habits. Assistance was provided to pregnant women in RT 04, Ponorogo Village, Lubuklinggau Utara II District for four weeks with the aim of increasing awareness, knowledge, and behavioral changes related to consuming balanced nutrition. The intervention included nutritional education, monitoring of eating patterns, and family involvement as supportive factors. The results showed positive changes in dietary habits, particularly for a participant named Rika, who previously consumed only two meals per day with minimal intake of protein and vegetables, but after the intervention increased to three meals per day with additional nutritious foods. Although the Mid-Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC) measurement did not show significant improvement in a short period, the change in dietary behavior indicates an important initial step toward preventing CED. Continued assistance is recommended to maintain these positive habits until delivery, considering that educational support and family involvement are proven to reduce the risk of CED in pregnant women.

Abstract

The Integrated Health Post (Posyandu), categorized as a Primary Service Indicator (ILP), is a community-based health service that plays a crucial role in monitoring child growth and development, immunization, as well as maternal and child health prevention efforts (Ministry of Health RI, 2023). In the working area of Jalan Gedang Health Center, only 5 out of 71 households (223 residents) regularly attend Posyandu services, indicating a very low participation rate. This community engagement study aims to identify the contributing factors to low participation, analyze barriers—including knowledge, attitudes, access, and cadre support—and design promotive and preventive educational interventions to improve participation. The research used a pre-test and post-test design without a control group and involved 30 respondents. The results revealed a significant increase in knowledge scores, from an average of 50% (poor category) to 70% (good category) after the educational intervention. These findings demonstrate that education is effective in improving community understanding of the functions, benefits, and service types offered by Posyandu ILP. Furthermore, low participation is also influenced by limited community knowledge regarding Posyandu functions, consistent with the findings of Amanah (2021). It is concluded that educational interventions play an essential role in improving knowledge and enhancing community participation in utilizing Posyandu ILP services.

Abstract

The limited utilization of residential yards has become a challenge for households in achieving environmental greening and food security. Many families leave their yards unused, resulting in lost opportunities for ecological and economic benefits. This community service program was designed to address the issue by encouraging residents to cultivate productive plants in their yards. The intervention involved distributing chili and eggplant seedlings, providing training on planting techniques, and conducting continuous monitoring of plant growth. Implementation steps included initial surveys of yard conditions, coordination with neighborhood leaders to determine seed requirements, seed distribution to households, training sessions on cultivation and maintenance, and follow-up observations to evaluate progress. The outcomes showed that residents began to use vacant land more effectively, creating greener and healthier surroundings. In addition, households gained supplementary food sources from their own harvests, contributing to family food security. This program demonstrates that simple interventions such as seed distribution and mentoring can foster sustainable environmental practices, strengthen community resilience, and support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 2 (Zero Hunger) and Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
