Abstract

Background: Administrative performance in schools plays a crucial role in ensuring effective management and educational quality. However, teachers and principals often face challenges related to workload and administrative complexity. This study aims to analyze the perspectives of school operators (OpS) on the administrative performance of teachers and principals, the obstacles encountered in administrative tasks, and their recommendations to overcome these challenges. Previous studies have shown that administrative burdens can affect teaching quality and leadership effectiveness, yet limited research has explored these issues from the perspective of school operators in Indonesia. Methods: This quantitative study employed a survey approach involving 493 respondents representing various educational levels across Indonesia. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistical techniques to identify patterns, trends, and relationships among variables related to administrative performance. Findings: The majority of respondents came from Java Island, with a predominance of elementary school participants. Teachers’ administrative performance was generally rated as good, although they encountered obstacles such as heavy workloads, insufficient facilities, and frequent policy changes. Principals also demonstrated good administrative performance, particularly in communication and staff coordination, yet faced challenges related to limited time and coordination barriers. School operators recommended training in administrative technology, time management, and administrative leadership for improvement. Conclusion: The study concludes that continuous training, improved facilities, and consistent administrative policies are essential to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of school administrative performance. Novelty/Originality of this article: This study contributes new insights by presenting the unique perspectives of school operators regarding the administrative performance of teachers and principals in Indonesia, emphasizing the need for policy and management reforms to support more efficient school administration.

Abstract

Background:  Sexual harassment is one of the negative acts that has a big impact on the victims. Not only women but men today can also become victims of sexual harassment. Even the perpetrators of sexual harassment are women. This research aims to analyze the phenomenon of sexual harassment in men. The research problem focuses on the victimization of men through sexual harassment. As well as finding out the extent of society's understanding regarding gender and sexuality literacy. Methods: This study uses a qualitative research design with an ethnographic approach to describe the life experiences of eight deliberately selected informants. Primary data obtained through purposive sampling is integrated with a critical review of relevant literature to place male victimization in the broader context of sociocultural and digital structures. Finding: The findings indicate that society still demonstrates a low level of understanding regarding gender and sexuality. This lack of awareness contributes to the normalization and trivialization of sexual harassment against men, causing many male victims to remain silent due to fear of stigma, disbelief, or ridicule. Such attitudes reflect deeply embedded patriarchal norms that hinder open discussions about men’s vulnerability and reinforce gender stereotypes that portray men as invulnerable. Conclusion: This study concludes that sexual harassment against men in cyberspace tends to be normalized and ignored due to the strong influence of patriarchal masculinity norms that demand men to always appear dominant. Novelty/Originality of this article: This study offers originality through its in-depth exploration of male victimization in sexual harassment a topic that remains underrepresented in academic discourse. By examining the social ignorance and gender bias that silence male victims, this research challenges dominant gender narratives and reveals critical gaps in public understanding of gender, sexuality, and patriarchal masculinity within both offline and digital spaces.

Abstract

Background: This paper aims to analyze teachers’ readiness in implementing digital literacy and identify the policy gaps affecting technology integration in language classrooms within the framework of the Merdeka Curriculum. Methods: This study uses the systematic literature review (SLR) method to analyze research and policy documents published between 2020 and 2025. Data were collected from the Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar databases using keywords such as ‘digital literacy’, ‘EFL teachers’, and ‘Merdeka Curriculum’. The collected data were analyzed using a six-stage thematic analysis to identify patterns, challenges, and policy implications related to teacher readiness and technology integration. Findings: The findings showed that although most teachers have comprehensive understanding of the Merdeka Curriculum concepts, there is a significant gaps between teachers’ understanding and the real classroom practices. The main factor is limitations on teachers’ training, infrastructure, and resource disparities between urban and rural areas. Furthermore, the national education policy is partially responsive to the actual condition on-the-ground. Conclusion: This study concludes that digital literacy is a fundamental competency, not merely an additional skill, for the successful implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. Although teachers' theoretical understanding is relatively high, there is a significant gap in classroom practice due to infrastructure disparities and training needs that are more focused on pedagogy. Novelty/Originality of this article: This study contributes to the understanding of how digital literacy can serve as a bridge between national education reform and classroom practice. It also highlights the urgent need for continuous professional training and context-based digital education policy to ensure equitable and sustainable implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum across Indonesia.

Abstract

Background: This study aims to map research trends concerning the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the development of Islamic insurance (takaful). Methods: Employing bibliometric techniques, the study analyzes data retrieved from the Scopus database for the period 2015–2025. The research utilized a comprehensive query string focusing on keywords such as AI, blockchain, and takaful, followed by a rigorous data cleaning process to ensure metadata consistency. Quantitative analysis and thematic mapping were conducted using VOSviewer software to visualize publication trends, influential contributors, and emerging research clusters. Findings: The results indicate a significant increase in publications on AI and takaful, although overall output remains limited. The most productive contributors include Jan, Meskini, and Mohamed, while the most frequently cited work is Fintech and Islamic Finance: Digitalization, Development and Disruption (2019) by Alam, Gupta, and Zameni, with 86 citations. Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems and The Future of Islamic Finance: From Shari‘ah Law to Fintech are the leading publication outlets, whereas Stellar Consulting Group Ltd. records the highest institutional output. At the country level, Malaysia dominates the field with 12 publications, reflecting its strong research commitment. Thematic mapping highlights fintech, risk, company, contract, industry, design methodology approach, supervision, takaful company, and gap as central themes. Recent research emphasizes blockchain, financial inclusion, supervision, accuracy, and methodological design, while emerging but underexplored areas—such as the construction industry, government and state policy, permissioned blockchain, cooperation, and order—offer considerable potential for future inquiry. Conclusion: Research on AI in takaful is steadily expanding but remains in its formative stage. The field is highly interdisciplinary, with fintech and blockchain emerging as dominant themes, yet substantial opportunities remain for further exploration. Novelty/Originality of this article: This study provides the first systematic bibliometric mapping of AI in takaful, capturing publication trends, influential authors, institutions, and themes.

Abstract

Background: Discussions about the global education paradigm are synonymous with freedom of competition and accountability. This contrasts with the Indonesian education paradigm, which focuses on the concept of harmony between intellectual and moral development. To achieve a balance between the two paradigms, Indonesia’s Merdeka Belajar–Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) reform was launched to promote autonomy, creativity, and innovation in higher education. Yet, beneath its emancipatory discourse, MBKM remains anchored in a human-capital paradigm that measures success through employability rather than moral, ecological, and epistemic reflection. This imbalance reflects a broader crisis in modern education, where freedom is equated with market adaptability instead of ethical responsibility. Methods: This study employs a qualitative conceptual approach, combining critical discourse analysis of MBKM policy documents with theoretical synthesis across decolonial, ecological, and educational thought. The analysis proceeds through three interpretive stages—policy examination, literature synthesis, and theoretical engagement—to uncover the epistemological foundations and "regimes of truth" that govern the current reform. Findings: Three epistemic challenges are identified: epistemic reduction—the confinement of knowledge to technical and measurable forms; moral and ecological detachment—the separation of learning from ethical and environmental consciousness; and managerial autonomy—a paradoxical freedom constrained by neoliberal metrics. These tendencies perpetuate dependency on Western epistemic norms while marginalizing Indonesia’s moral–cultural heritage rooted in budi pekerti and pendidikan merdeka. Conclusion: To transcend this industrial-epistemic paradigm, Indonesian universities must pursue epistemic sustainability—the capacity to sustain and regenerate plural ways of knowing (scientific, local, ethical, and spiritual) in balance. This paradigm repositions education as a moral and civic practice, aligning freedom (merdeka) with responsibility and care. Novelty/Originality of this article: This study introduces epistemic sustainability as an integrative framework linking decolonial, ecological and educational thought, offering a pathway to operationalize the ecology of knowledge within Indonesia’s educational reform.
