Abstract

This article wants to explain how the development of science. Especially those related to Islam and Science. Every civilization makes efforts to continuously develop their knowledge (Religion and Science). Western and Eastern civilizations, especially Islam, which continue to compete to catch up with the West feel this dilemma. For this reason, it is necessary to have a Transfer of Knowledge process or even a cross between two scientific poles. Sardar is present as a Muslim thinker who wants to reconcile the two with the idea of Islamic Science. this idea as self-criticism and offer in Islamic epistemology. Self-criticism in the sense of Islamic scholarship is present as a critique of the idea of Islamization of Science initiated by al-Faruqi and the offer of Islamic epistemology as a new idea to bring together Islam and Science. This offer is a new scientific alternative for the Muslim generation who were born in the modern century, especially for PTKIN which will change its status from IAIN to UIN. Sardar plants are considered relevant to the new UIN in finding their knowledge which does not have two different poles, namely Islam and Science. By using Sardar's idea, the new UIN has a distinctive scientific style that other Islamic institutions do not have.

Abstract

Hamka's modern Sufism is very important for this modern era, because modern society is now trapped by a rational mindset and leaves the spiritual dimension, giving birth to a materialistic and dry lifestyle of spiritual values. This paper aims to examine the role of spirituality which is an important part of Hamka's Sufism as an alternative solution to the current humanitarian crisis. This type of research is library research, namely research through literature review or literature that presents material related to the research theme in the form of books, journals and reports from previous research results. In his modern Sufism, Hamka wants to interpret Sufism which is an old scientific discipline with a modern meaning, which is relevant today as an effort to make happiness in modern society dry from spiritual elements. Because the essence of Sufism according to Hamka is the purification of the soul and avoidance of desires, misery, and something bad. Hamka's modern Sufism thinking is very important and deserves to be used as a reference for the world today, because society has been influenced by materialistic Western traditions, in the sense that Muslim communities only think and act on worldly aspects compared to the hereafter

Abstract

Every child has human rights as well as the rights of adults, so respecting children's rights is the same as respecting human rights. This paper aims to compare the policy of imposing the death penalty on a child between Iran and Indonesia. This research is a normative legal research conducted by examining library materials or secondary data. The approach used is a comparative approach, which is to compare child protection laws between Iran and Indonesia. The regulation of criminal penalties against children in Iran is regulated in Article 91 of the Iranian Islamic Criminal Code in 2013 and in Indonesia it is regulated in Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection and Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the Child Criminal Justice System. The regulation of legal protection for children in Iran and in the State of Indonesia, when compared, has quite basic differences in several aspects of the provisions of criminal acts and the criminal system. In the criminal setting in Iran, it justifies the application of the death penalty for crimes committed by children under 18 years of age. In the last 7 years, almost all juvenile offenders who were executed were sentenced to death based on qisas and hudud verses. Meanwhile, in Indonesia, it does not apply the death penalty to children but prioritizes restorative justice and diversion which is intended to avoid and keep children away from the judicial process so as to avoid stigmatization of children in conflict with the law and it is hoped that children can return to the social environment naturally.

Abstract

This paper discusses the relationship between Islamic theology and environmental ethics. Based on the development of the discourse on an environmental problem that arises in the public sphere, Islamic theology as the divine discourse is required to participate in overcoming it at the conceptual level starting from the relationship between humans and the environment. The concept of human in Islamic theological discourse is defined as the center of universal consciousness through the concept of the vicegerent of God on earth (khalifatullah fil ard). Such a concept is often misunderstood as the legitimization of the supremacy of human power over other creatures on earth (anthropocentrism). Therefore, the objective of the study is to enrich studies on Islamic Eco-theology, especially related to the concept of khalifa and its relation with responsibility towards nature. To conduct the research, this paper applied an intertextual approach to extract and reveal the meaning of khalifa and its relation with responsibility in classical Muslim works of tafsir, philosophy, theology, Sufism, and theosophy. The result of the discussion shows that the meaning of humans as the vicegerent of God in the world is not the legitimacy of total mastery but a responsibility that must be fulfilled.

Abstract

This study reviews the ideas of the Kalām scholars regarding human actions and their influence on the interpretation of the concept of Qadr, with the aim of describing the good and bad of human actions, the consequences of interpreting good and bad actions, the correlation of the concept of al-Taḥsīn wa al-Taqbīḥwith Ta' līl al-Af'āl, and to be able to distinguish between the problems of Kaun and Dīnī. This type of research is qualitative literature research with an intertextual approach from primary and secondary data sources related to the research theme. As for the result, this definition of good and bad does not only affect the principle of aqidah or belief but also widens its influence on the uṣūl al-fiqhdebate which becomes the methodology for taking law on the actions of a mukallafor which is obliged to apply sharia law. In conclusion, the definition of mu'tazilahis that in this case it departs from pure reason, while the definition of asyā'irahdeparts from the limitation of revelation and the rest which is not discussed by revelation is the realm of Allah's will, while Ibn Taimiyyah agrees that good and bad can be seen from both and raises the concept of kauniyyah and syar'iyyah so as not to fall into qadariyyah (denying destiny) and also jabariyyah or mujbirah (stating that all actions are the will of Allah which human not involved at all).
