Abstract

Abstract Operating Systems practicum requires a safe and flexible learning environment that enables students to perform operating system installation and configuration without affecting the host operating system. One of the approaches that can be implemented is the use of virtualization technology through Oracle VM VirtualBox. This study aims to implement Ubuntu 26.04 LTS using Oracle VM VirtualBox and evaluate the initial system configuration as a supporting medium for Operating Systems practicum. The research employed an implementation method with a descriptive approach. The research stages included literature review, hardware and software preparation, virtual machine creation, virtual hardware configuration, Ubuntu 26.04 LTS installation, initial system configuration, and implementation verification. The results indicate that the implementation process was successfully completed. Ubuntu 26.04 LTS was installed and operated successfully in a virtual environment, recognized the allocated virtual hardware resources, and functioned properly after the initial configuration. Furthermore, Oracle VM VirtualBox provided a secure, flexible, and easily configurable virtual environment without affecting the host operating system. Therefore, the implementation of Ubuntu 26.04 LTS using Oracle VM VirtualBox can serve as an effective alternative learning medium to support Operating Systems practicum.

Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) remains a major public health concern in Indonesia, including at the Ciputat Community Health Center, which handles a high volume of patients on a daily basis. Limited consultation time and low public health literacy among the community have caused early identification of ARI symptoms to often be delayed or inaccurate. This study aims to design and implement a web-based expert system for early ARI diagnosis using the Certainty Factor (CF) method. The system processes user-selected symptoms along with their associated belief degrees to handle uncertainty during the reasoning process. Knowledge base parameters, including Measure of Belief (MB) and Measure of Disbelief (MD), were obtained through consultation with medical experts. System testing was conducted using three methods, namely Black Box Testing, White Box Testing with Cyclomatic Complexity analysis, and User Response Questionnaires distributed to 37 respondents. The Black Box test confirmed that all functional features of the system operate correctly and as expected. The White Box test yielded a Cyclomatic Complexity value of 2 across all core modules, indicating logical structural simplicity and correctness of the program flow. Furthermore, the User Response test achieved a satisfaction score of 89,12%, which falls into the "Very Good" category. The developed system effectively assists users in performing preliminary self-identification of ARI symptoms and supports healthcare personnel in streamlining the triage process before formal medical consultation.

Abstract

The Sahid Surakarta University website serves as a platform for information and academic services utilized by students, faculty, prospective students, alumni, and the general public. Consequently, the website's usability quality requires evaluation to ensure users can access information easily and comfortably. This study aims to evaluate the usability level of the Universitas Sahid Surakarta website using the Heuristic Evaluation method. A quantitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, literature review, and questionnaires distributed to 60 Universitas Sahid Surakarta students who had previously accessed the site. Data analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics, involving validity testing, reliability testing, and descriptive analysis. The results indicate that all questionnaire items were valid, with calculated r-values exceeding the critical r-table value (0.254), and the instrument demonstrated reliability with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.920. The evaluation reveals that the Universitas Sahid Surakarta website possesses a good level of usability. However, certain aspects require improvement, specifically the communication of system status to users through clearer feedback during interactions. These findings are intended to assist website administrators in enhancing interface quality and ease of use, thereby delivering a superior user experience.
