Abstract

Construction projects are related to infrastructure development in Indonesia, which is an important foundation for economic growth by supporting mobility, trade, and connectivity between regions. Infrastructure development also supports the utilization of labor resources in Indonesia. This research aims to analyze the availability of labor in a construction project. The Resource Leveling method is used to level the labor needs in the project. The results showed that there was an allocation of labor that exceeded the maximum daily availability before equalization. The initial allocation based on qualifications showed that the maximum number of workers consisted of 2 foremen, 1 head carpenter, 1 head ironworker, 1 head mason, 5 carpenters, 5 ironworkers, 1 mason, and 13 workers. After equalizing the workforce, the maximum number of workers required is 1 foreman, 1 head carpenter, 1 head ironworker, 1 head mason, 4 carpenters, 4 ironworkers, 1 mason, and 13 workers. This research emphasizes the importance of workforce equalization to avoid over-allocation and ensure efficiency in construction projects.

Abstract

The Lapindo Mud Disaster that occurred in Sidoarjo in 2006 has become one of the most phenomenal events in Indonesia, causing the sinking of 16 villages and drastic changes to the landscape and lives of the surrounding community. The aim of designing the Lapindo Mud Museum is as a solution to fulfill its function not only as a place to store artifacts and information, but also as a space for interaction and reflection for the community. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Design using a metaphor approach, namely the preparation of planning and design concepts with several analyses, namely, urban analysis, site analysis, land use analysis, circulation analysis, wind direction analysis, sun direction analysis, noise analysis, several concept preparations. The research results show that the building design is used as a symbol of the Lapindo Mudflow and commemorates the victims and communities affected by the Lapindo Mudflow. With a metaphorical architectural approach, the museum is expected to overcome the boredom that often occurs during conventional museum visits and facilitate deeper interactions with visitors.

Abstract

Multi-electrode spark plugs are a type of spark plug that has two or more ground points on the electrodes which function to produce sparks for the combustion process in gasoline engines. The aim is to find out how much the biggest change in power, the biggest torque is and how big the change in minimum specific fuel consumption is when using multi-ground spark plugs and varying the octane value of the fuel. The engine performance testing method uses full valve opening to obtain data. Next, the data is presented in the form of a graphic table and analyzed using Microsoft Excel and Minitab. The independent variables are the number of spark plug electrode legs and the octane value of the fuel. The dependent variable is the power produced and minimum specific fuel consumption when using RON 90, 92 and 98 fuel. The engine speed control variable is 55000 to 9000. Power test results using X-Line spark plugs with RON 92 fuel produce the highest power among spark plugs . other. The highest power is 6.92 hp at 7000 rpm. Torque test results using RON 98 fuel show that the X-Line spark plug produces the highest torque among other spark plugs. The highest torque is 8.21 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The results of the specific fuel consumption test using RON 92 fuel, 3 foot ground spark plugs, produced the highest specific fuel consumption among other spark plugs . The lowest specific fuel consumption is 0.1308 kg/hPxhour at 9000 rpm.

Abstract

Conservation of natural resources and the environment is a global issue that needs serious attention and handling because there are many environmental problems. This is due to the lack of awareness of the younger generation about the environment. Balige is the capital of Toba Regency which is an area that has considerable natural wealth and potential. However, the natural wealth owned has not been utilized optimally. Therefore, there is a need for follow-up in the form of establishing a Nature School which is capable of educating today's young generation to increase their awareness of the environment and make the most of it. This Nature School is planned to be located in the Soposurung area with consideration of a suitable location for developing an educational zone. This building applies sustainable architecture that makes the most of the potential of the surrounding environment.

Abstract

In recent years, electric vehicles (EVs) have experienced rapid growth, with increasing demand for more efficient and safer battery technologies. Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries have become the primary choice due to their high energy density and long cycle life. However, one major challenge faced is effective thermal management. Poorly managed temperatures can lead to battery performance degradation, shorten battery life, and even pose a fire risk (Wang et al., 2020). Therefore, this study focuses on optimizing the thermal management system for Li-ion battery packs using phase change materials (PCMs) and advanced heat exchangers.
