Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using smartphones in increasing the learning motivation of FIS UNP geography students during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is classified as a quasy eksperimen research type. The population of all Geography students at Padang State University was 119 students, while the sample used the Probability Sampling technique with the type of random sampling. The data collection technique used a Google Form questionnaire which was distributed online to geography students via the WhatsApp and Gmail applications. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistics using the N-Gain formula. The results of the data recap were processed using an experimental class system and a control class with pretest and posttest. The results of the study were that geography students' smartphone use to increase learning motivation at FIS UNP in online learning posttest scores in the experimental class had an average of 62.4681 and were in the medium category. Based on hypothesis testing through an independent sample t-test that the effectiveness of smartphone use to increase student learning motivation is 21.7296in the ineffective category.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) determine the relationship between learning interest and geography learning (2) determine the relationship between the number of study hours and geography learning (3) determine the relationship between interest in learning and the number geography study hours on geography learning outcomes in class XI IPS SMAN 1 Ulu Barumun.The type of research used is correlational quantitative research. the subjects in this study were students of class XI Social Sciences in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. The sampling technique in this study used cluster random sampling as many as 33 respondents. Data analysis used a Likert scale using Microsoft Excel assisted by the IBM SPSS 21 program to process data. The results obtained by this study include: (1) there is a relationship between learning interest and geography learning outcomes, namely 0.60 with strong categorization. (2) there is a relationship between the number of study hours and the results of learning geography, namely 0.43 with moderate categorization. (3) there is a relationship between learning interest and the number of study hours on geography learning outcomes, namely 0.663 with very strong categorization.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the efforts of teachers to overcome difficulties in learning geography in class X IPS students at SMAN 1 Six Lingkung, Padang Pariaman Regency. This type of research is qualitative. Determination of subjects using purposive sampling. The research subjects were 1 class X IPS geography teacher and 12 students of X IPS class. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of the study found that 1) The factors that influence students' learning difficulties in geography subjects are internal and external factors. 2) The constraints experienced by teachers overcoming geography learning difficulties are student characteristics, the low interest in student learning in geography subjects. 3) The teacher's efforts to overcome geography learning difficulties are ensuring student readiness, using learning media that facilitate understanding, problems related to everyday life, the level of difficulty of the problem according to the ability of the child, giving freedom to the child to solve problems. Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effect of applying the TGT model and STAD model to the learning outcomes of students at SMAN 11 Tebo, Jambi. The approach used is a quarsi experiment with a pretest-posttest nonequivalent control design. The samples taken in this study were 60 students using a random sampling technique in class XI IPS 1 and class XI IPS 2. The data analysis method used in this study was carried out with the help of Microsoft Excel and SPSS 26 applications. Data collection techniques were in the form of documentation, tests learning outcomes, and questionnaires. From processing the results of the posttest experimental class, the average learning result is quite high, namely 72 compared to the control class with an average learning result of 66. For the N-gain test, students in the experimental class get a percentage of 56% (quite effective) while in the control class only get a percentage of 51% (less effective). So that in this study there was a positive influence from the application of the STAD type cooperative learning model by contributing 40.5% to increasing the learning outcomes of class XI IPS students at SMAN 11 Tebo, Jambi.

Abstract

This study aims to determine student participation in learning using the case study method in geography lessons at SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang This research is a descriptive study using a quantitative approach with a sampling technique that is random sampling with a sample of class XII semester I with a population of class XII social studies students. SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang, Data collection techniques through observation with descriptive quantitative techniques. Data analysis using the Percentage Technique. The results of this study were to determine that student participation in learning using the case study method in SMA Pertiwi 1 obtained data with an achievement level of 68% in the mediumcategory.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to discuss the application of Case Mathod to the dynamics of the lithosphere and its impact on life to improve student learning outcomes in MAN Lima Puluh Kota geography. This research is an experimental research (Quasi Experiment Design) with pretest posttest control group design. Using a quantitative approach. Sampling using purposive sampling. The sample in this study was class X IPS as the experimental class, totaling 19 people and class X IPK as the control class, totaling 18 people. The research instruments were in the form of learning achievement tests and study participation observation sheets. The results showed that the average pretest score for the experimental class was 45.90 and that for the control class was 48.14. Then the posttest value of the experimental class was 76.31 and that of the control class was 56.48. So that the N-Gain score for the experimental class was 0.56 which was in the medium criteria and for the control class the N-Gain score was 0.16 which was in the low criteria. So this shows that the N-Gain score of the experimental class is greater than the control class. The results of the hypothesis test with the t test show that the value of Tcount is 10.43 and Ttable is 1.68 which indicates the value of Tcount > Ttable, then Hɑ is accepted meaning that the application of the Case Method in geography learning can improve learning outcome to the dynamics of the lithosphere and its impact on life. Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the self-concept of school dropouts in a lifestyle review based on aspects of self-concept consisting of two types, namely positive self-concept and negative self-concept, and aspects of the lifestyle of school dropouts. This research is a mixed method research and was conducted in Koto Tangah District with 12 informants consisting of 4 dropouts, 4 guardians of dropouts, 2 peers, 1 neighbor, and 1 RT head. Technical data analysis in this study used observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Quantitative research results show that 75% of dropouts have a positive self-concept and 25% have a negative self-concept. And for lifestyle 50% very positive, 25% positive, and 25% negative. Meanwhile, the results of qualitative research show that dropouts on average have a negative self-concept where many of them spend more time playing games, and waking up at noon. In addition, they prefer to drop out of school because they are lazy to come to school, lazy to do assignments, and do not like the school rules. So from the results of the study, it was found that the average dropout in Perumahan Cinta Kasih has a positive self-concept and a negative self-concept. Keywords: Self-concept, dropout, lifestyle

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model on the results of studying geography on population mobility in class XI IPS SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang. This type of research is quantitative based on quasi-experimental design experiments. Sampling used simple random sampling, namely the sample was taken randomly from the population so as to produce two sample groups for class XI IPS 1, the experimental group and class XI IPS 2, the control group. Student learning outcomes were obtained from the pretest and posttest before after treatment. The data analysis technique uses the t-test and normalized gain test. The results showed that tcount ≥ ttable with a significant level of 5% (0.05), namely 4.33 ≥ 1.99 so Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. Then the normalized gain test N gain score of the experimental group is 0.72 with a high interpretation, while the control group is 0.46 with a moderate interpretation. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the problem based learning model on geography learning outcomes. Keywords: Problem Based Learning, Experiments, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

The research objective was to determine the effect of applying the Snowball Throwing cooperative learning model to the geography learning outcomes of class XI IPS students at SMA Negeri 2 Lengayang, Pesisir Selatan Regency. This research uses a quasi-experimental type of experimental method. The design used in this study is the Pretest – Posttest Control Group Design. From the T test that has been carried out, the results for Tcount are 3.703 while Ttable is 2.024, so in this test Tcount ≤ Ttebel, then the Snowball Throwing type cooperative learning model has an effect on student learning outcomes in geography learning class XI IPS at SMAN 2 Lengayang. The N-Gain test in this study was for the control class, with a test value of 55% in the moderate or quite effective category, while for the experimental class, a test value of 76% was obtained in the high or very effective category. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of applying Quizizz learning media on geography learning outcomes for Class X Students at SMAS IT Mutiara Duri Riau. This type of research is a quantitative research with a type of experimental research (Quasi Experiment Design) with a research design in the form of a pretest posttest control group design. With research subjects namely class X 4 as the experimental class and class X 7 as the control class. The sampling technique used random sampling technique with a total sample of 193 students. The research instrument was a test of 14 objective questions. The results of this study based on the analysis obtained the average posttest score of 87.9 for the experimental class and 73.3 for the control class. In the experimental class, an increase in knowledge or N-Gain of 0.79 was obtained in the high category. Whereas in the control class, an increase in knowledge or N-Gain of 0.54 was obtained in the medium category. The results of the analysis of the two groups used the T test at a significance level ɑ = 0.05 and obtained Tcount = 4.008 and Ttable = 2.024 so that Tcount > Ttable, then H0 is accepted and Hɑ is rejected, meaning that there is an effect of the application of Quizizz learning media on the geography learning outcomes of class X students in Mutiara Duri Riau IT High School.
