Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the extent of the relationship between students' perceptions of teacher pedagogic competence towards geography learning motivation of class X IPS students at MAN 2 Padang City. This type of research is included in the correlational quantitative research. The population in this study were students of class X IPS in the 2021/2022 academic year, totaling 174 students. The sampling technique used was proportional random sampling with a proportion of 10% and a sample of 106 students was obtained. Data analysis used a Likert scale using the SPSS version 16.0 program. The technique used is correlation and simple linear regression. The results of the study concluded that there was a relationship between students' perceptions of teacher pedagogic competence having a positive and significant relationship to students' motivation to learn geography. This is evidenced by the correlation coefficient (r) of 0.514, the coefficient of determination (r2) of 26.4%, the value of tcount (6.115) > ttable (1.986) and the value of the regression equation Y = 31,707 + 0.607X which indicates that every time there is an addition one unit on the student's perception variable about the teacher's pedagogic competence, it will increase the score on the student's geography learning motivation variable by 0.607. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the perceptions of students about online learning and offline learning in Geography at SMA Negeri 1 Tualang. This type of research is qualitative, using informants in this study are students of class XI IPS, geography teachers and curriculum representatives at SMA Negeri 1 Tualang. Data collection techniques were collected from interviews and documentation. The results of this study found that students had positive perceptions of offline learning, and negative perceptions of online learning. Students perceive that they want learning activities in Geography to be carried out offline rather than online. This can be seen from the implementation of offline learning which is carried out more effectively than online learning. It is said to be effective because in practice students participate in learning, students understand the material better, and the learning outcomes obtained are better when online

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using smartphones in increasing the learning motivation of FIS UNP geography students during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is classified as a quasy eksperimen research type. The population of all Geography students at Padang State University was 119 students, while the sample used the Probability Sampling technique with the type of random sampling. The data collection technique used a Google Form questionnaire which was distributed online to geography students via the WhatsApp and Gmail applications. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistics using the N-Gain formula. The results of the data recap were processed using an experimental class system and a control class with pretest and posttest. The results of the study were that geography students' smartphone use to increase learning motivation at FIS UNP in online learning posttest scores in the experimental class had an average of 62.4681 and were in the medium category. Based on hypothesis testing through an independent sample t-test that the effectiveness of smartphone use to increase student learning motivation is 21.7296in the ineffective category.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) determine the relationship between learning interest and geography learning (2) determine the relationship between the number of study hours and geography learning (3) determine the relationship between interest in learning and the number geography study hours on geography learning outcomes in class XI IPS SMAN 1 Ulu Barumun.The type of research used is correlational quantitative research. the subjects in this study were students of class XI Social Sciences in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. The sampling technique in this study used cluster random sampling as many as 33 respondents. Data analysis used a Likert scale using Microsoft Excel assisted by the IBM SPSS 21 program to process data. The results obtained by this study include: (1) there is a relationship between learning interest and geography learning outcomes, namely 0.60 with strong categorization. (2) there is a relationship between the number of study hours and the results of learning geography, namely 0.43 with moderate categorization. (3) there is a relationship between learning interest and the number of study hours on geography learning outcomes, namely 0.663 with very strong categorization.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the efforts of teachers to overcome difficulties in learning geography in class X IPS students at SMAN 1 Six Lingkung, Padang Pariaman Regency. This type of research is qualitative. Determination of subjects using purposive sampling. The research subjects were 1 class X IPS geography teacher and 12 students of X IPS class. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of the study found that 1) The factors that influence students' learning difficulties in geography subjects are internal and external factors. 2) The constraints experienced by teachers overcoming geography learning difficulties are student characteristics, the low interest in student learning in geography subjects. 3) The teacher's efforts to overcome geography learning difficulties are ensuring student readiness, using learning media that facilitate understanding, problems related to everyday life, the level of difficulty of the problem according to the ability of the child, giving freedom to the child to solve problems. Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effect of applying the TGT model and STAD model to the learning outcomes of students at SMAN 11 Tebo, Jambi. The approach used is a quarsi experiment with a pretest-posttest nonequivalent control design. The samples taken in this study were 60 students using a random sampling technique in class XI IPS 1 and class XI IPS 2. The data analysis method used in this study was carried out with the help of Microsoft Excel and SPSS 26 applications. Data collection techniques were in the form of documentation, tests learning outcomes, and questionnaires. From processing the results of the posttest experimental class, the average learning result is quite high, namely 72 compared to the control class with an average learning result of 66. For the N-gain test, students in the experimental class get a percentage of 56% (quite effective) while in the control class only get a percentage of 51% (less effective). So that in this study there was a positive influence from the application of the STAD type cooperative learning model by contributing 40.5% to increasing the learning outcomes of class XI IPS students at SMAN 11 Tebo, Jambi.

Abstract

This study aims to find out: (1) How is the zoning system policy in the city of Padang Panjang, and (2) What are the obstacles that arise with the implementation of the zoning system in accepting students in the city of Padang Panjang. This research uses a qualitative research type with a descriptive analysis approach for data collection using non-participatory observation techniques, interviews, and documentation, informant selection techniques using Snowball Sampling, as well as for data analysis from data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that: (1) The zoning system policy is in the form of abolishing SKTM (Certificate of Disadvantage), length of domicile, announcement of capacity, and priority of one zoning of school of origin. because the admissions system focuses on prospective educators who live in the closest distance to one of the schools. The implementation of a policy of limiting the capacity of schools that makes prospective students who have good abilities or high scores does not guarantee getting the school they want, so there is fraud at the domicile address with the address on the family card (KK) in order to get the desired school for prospective students. (2) Constraints on the zoning system in the form of implementation techniques that are not socialized to the community, the availability of schools is not evenly distributed, the priority of distance causes decreased motivation, the dichotomy of superior and non-excellent schools. Limited time for socialization which ultimately affects people's understanding of the new mechanism for accepting new students after the zoning policy was enacted through Permendikbud 17 of 2017.

Abstract

This study aims to determine student participation in learning using the case study method in geography lessons at SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang This research is a descriptive study using a quantitative approach with a sampling technique that is random sampling with a sample of class XII semester I with a population of class XII social studies students. SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang, Data collection techniques through observation with descriptive quantitative techniques. Data analysis using the Percentage Technique. The results of this study were to determine that student participation in learning using the case study method in SMA Pertiwi 1 obtained data with an achievement level of 68% in the mediumcategory.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics that exist in Kampoeng Mataraman village tourism. Knowing how important the role of involvement and the economy of the people of Panggungharjo Village is in the village tourism of Kampoeng Mataraman. The research method used was descriptive qualitative which was carried out by interviewing respondents and conducting direct research observations in the field by doing an internship for one week in Kampoeng Mataraman. After that, see how the economic life of the people of Panggunngharjo Village before and after working in Kampoeng Mataraman. The analysis technique is carried out using an interactive analysis model which requires three components in the form of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that the most prominent characteristics of Kampoeng Mataraman are that they still show strong Javanese customs, a rural atmosphere, and typical Javanese joglo buildings. The impact of the development of Kampoeng Mataraman on empowering the people of Panggungharjo Village is that the community gains abilities that have so far been invisible from within themselves, increasing the economy of the people who work in Kampoeng Mataraman.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of part-time study on the mean grades (cumulative mean grades) of students in the Department of Geography, Faculty of Social Sciences, Padang State University. This type of study used correlates with a quantitative approach. The number of respondents was 31 students working part-time in geography education (S1) and non-geography education (S1) courses in the Department of Geography. Sample selection using porous sampling. Data collection techniques through participant observation, questionnaires and documentation. The analytical method is a simple linear statistical regression analysis performed using the SPSS 22 program. This study shows that the calculated F-value = 5.382 >. For Table F score = 4.18, significance value 0.028 < 0.05, Ho is rejected, H1 is accepted, and the test result is a simple linear regression, that is, Y = 2.486 + 0.021X. The better the students who work part-time, the higher their GPA (Grade Point Index).
