Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that affects children's growth and development and remains a major public health challenge. Posyandu plays a strategic role in the prevention and early detection of stunting through community-based basic health services. This community service activity aims to optimize the role of Posyandu as a strategy for preventing and detecting stunting early in Nagreg Village, Banten. The methods used include anthropometric measurements of children aged 0–59 months and health education on nutrition for parents and Posyandu cadres. Data analysis was conducted descriptively based on age groups. The results show that out of 32 children examined, 37.5% showed indications of stunting risk. This finding suggests that the integration of growth monitoring and nutrition education at Posyandu has the potential to be an effective strategy for the prevention and early detection of stunting, as well as to support the improvement of children's health quality. This activity also enhances parents' and Posyandu cadres' understanding of the importance of monitoring nutritional status to prevent stunting more effectively.

Abstract

The legal counseling activity on the technical aspects of preventing and reporting Ilegal online lending in Ngawen Village, Muntilan District, was motivated by the increasing number of Ilegal online lending cases that harm the community due to low legal and digital literacy. Rural communities often become victims because they do not understand the differences between legal and Ilegal loans and are unaware of the proper reporting mechanisms. This activity aims to provide residents with legal understanding regarding online lending regulations, improve digital literacy so that the community can identify Ilegal applications, and train residents to be courageous and capable of reporting Ilegal online lending practices to the relevant authorities. The implementation methods included socialization through interactive lectures, distribution of handout materials, and question-and-answer sessions. The activity was attended by 15 residents of Ngawen Village and featured two presenters from the Faculty of Law, Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang. The results showed an increase in participants’ understanding of the characteristics of Ilegal online lending, its socio-economic impacts, and the reporting procedures to the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo), and the police. Participants also gained a better understanding of the importance of protecting personal data and verifying the legality of financial applications before using them. In conclusion, this counseling activity successfully enhanced the community’s legal awareness and digital literacy, fostering a more vigilant and legally empowered society capable of protecting itself from Ilegal online lending practices in the digital era.

Abstract

Population growth and changing consumption patterns have led to a continuous increase in waste generation, with household organic waste being the dominant component in Bantul Regency. Low levels of public knowledge and awareness regarding waste management are also contributing factors. One environmentally friendly alternative for organic waste management is the use of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae, which have high bioconversion capabilities. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge of housewives in managing household organic waste using BSF maggots. The activity was carried out in RT 01, Mojosari Hamlet, Baturetno Village, Banguntapan District, Bantul Regency, involving 20 participants. The implementation method included a site survey, material delivery, an introduction to the life cycle and benefits of BSF maggots, an explanation of waste sorting, maggot feeding, and post-activity observations. However, limitations in maggot maintenance techniques persisted, requiring ongoing mentoring. This activity contributes to reducing waste generation at its source and supports sustainable household waste management based on community participation.

Abstract

Data from the 2020 LFSP (Long Form Population Census) recorded a maternal mortality ratio of 189 per 100,000 live births, while the infant mortality rate was recorded at 16.85 per 1,000 live births. The causes of maternal mortality were hemorrhage, preeclampsia/eclampsia, infection, prolonged labor, and miscarriage. Meanwhile, the majority of infant deaths were due to low birth weight, asphyxia, and infection at birth. Stunting remains a particular concern in Tegal City. Various measures have been taken, and the stunting rate has decreased to around 13.8% according to data from early 2025. This PKM is expected to increase public knowledge on caring for pregnant women, women in labor, postpartum women, and newborns, as well as preventing stunting in children, thereby reducing maternal and infant mortality rates. The methods used in this activity include health education and outreach with a promotive and preventive approach, targeting pregnant women and mothers with infants and toddlers. Community service was held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Boegenvil Health Center in Cabawan Village, Tegal City, with 53 participants. The results of this activity showed an increase in the level of knowledge of the participants, from 11 people with a good level of knowledge to 41 people after receiving counseling, with 3 participants still having a low level of knowledge.

Abstract

The increasing variety of digital financial products has contributed to greater access to financial services. However, there is growing need to enhance financial literacy, particularly among Generation Z, which dominates the use of technology compared to other generations. This generation is highly proficient in utilizing technology, including financial technology, which facilitates economic transactions through digital transfers and payments. On the other hand, this convenience also creates financial vulnerabilities for Generation Z, as reflected in poor personal fianncial management that leads to consumptive behavior and engagenment in online lending. Moreover, Generation Z tends to have lower levels of financial literacy compared to other generations. This community service program was conducted for Generation Z, specifically senior high school students at SMA Averos in Sorong City. The activity aimed to improve students’ understanding of financial literacy and provide practical tips for effective financial management. The program was implemented in the form of a financial literacy socialization activity, with the expectation of fostering financial awareness among young people regarding the importance of managing their finances and developing positive financial attitudes. The results of this activity indicate that students were able to understand financial literacy concepts effectively, leading to increased awareness and the ability to manage their finances in a prudent and responsible manner.

Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen legal awareness among Kodingareng fishers through community-based legal education tailored to their social characteristics and work structures. The program was implemented through initial mapping, participant segmentation based on local fishing typologies—papekang, papattek, and pagae—and dialogical legal education linked directly to everyday fishing practices. The educational content focused on clarifying categories of prohibited acts, legal consequences, and individual responsibility within both independent fishing and vessel-based collective work. The results indicate an improvement in participants’ ability to articulate legal boundaries, assess legal risks based on specific actions, and understand the relationship between legal compliance, resource sustainability, and household livelihood stability. Although economic pressure, long working hours, and patron–client relations remain significant constraints on rapid behavioral change, the enhancement of legal awareness represents a meaningful outcome within the framework of community service. The findings suggest that community-based legal education can function as an effective preventive strategy against fishing-related crimes and provide a foundation for sustained legal empowerment initiatives in small island communities.

Abstract

Significant changes have occurred in the land administration sector with the introduction of digital land certificates as part of an ongoing digital transformation in public services. However, public understanding of the concept, procedures, and benefits of digital certificates is still relatively limited, leading to uncertainty and hesitation in their adoption. This community service program aims to increase public awareness and knowledge about digital land certificates through interactive education and structured socialization activities. The program includes seminars, guided discussions, and question-and-answer sessions designed to provide clear and practical explanations about how digital certificates function within the land registration system. As a result of these activities, community members become more informed about the advantages of digital certificates, such as greater efficiency, enhanced data security, improved transparency, and reduced risks of document damage or loss. This educational initiative is expected to strengthen public trust, encourage active participation, and support the more effective and sustainable implementation of digital land certificate services in the future.

Abstract

Old age is a stage in the human life cycle where the body undergoes a decline in physiological functions, including a decrease in muscle strength, organ function, balance, and metabolism. To maintain body functions, it is necessary to keep moving, one way is through elderly exercise adjusted to the characteristics of old age, accompanied by regular health check-ups. The lack of knowledge among residents regarding elderly health is the main reason for this activity. Simple health checks include measuring blood pressure, blood glucose, and body weight. A community service program titled "Elderly Exercise and Free Health Check-Up to Achieve Healthy, Independent, and Productive Elderly in Tambakan Village, Gandusari District, Blitar Regency". The purpose of this study is to provide health awareness and encourage exercising, one of which is through exercise, to elderly residents in the surrounding area. The elderly appeared very enthusiastic about this activity; health results show that most are in normal condition. A small portion of the remaining elderly, those considered at risk for high blood pressure and high blood glucose, need to be given guidance on a healthy lifestyle. This activity needs to be held continuously, because the elderly have the right to a decent life with healthcare services and the habit of exercising to maintain a long, happy, and healthy life.
