Abstract

Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, not just freedom from disease or weakness (Maulina et al., 2024). According to WHO, (2022) Mental health is a state of mental well-being that allows a person to overcome the stresses of life, realize their abilities, contribute to their community, learn and work well. Someone who looks physically healthy does not mean they are mentally healthy. In general, mental health is a person's ability to process stress so that they function normally in carrying out their life to avoid symptoms of mental disorders. According to Sarmini, (2023) with a healthy mentality a person can carry out activities as a living creature, so it is said that mental health has an important role in a person's life.

Abstract

Congestive Heart Failure is the inability of the heart to pump blood effectively throughout the body. The heart is said to fail not because it stops working, but because it does not pump as hard as it should. One way to reduce the risk of skin integrity disorders is by using the bed transfer technique. This article uses a case study design and the subjects used in this case are Congestive Heart Failure patients treated at RSI Malahayati Medan with nursing problems at risk of skin integrity disorders. The results of the application which had been carried out for 3 days showed different results with the Braden score assessment on the first day getting a score of 12 and the second day getting a score of 14. Conclusion: giving the bed transfer technique can prevent the risk of damage to skin integrity in Congestive Heart Failure patients who experience total bedrest . Suggestions are given to patients to know and carry out bed transfer techniques to prevent the risk of damage to skin integrity.

Abstract

Hypercholesterolemia is a condition where the concentration of cholesterol in the blood increases beyond normal values. One of the plants recommended for consumption by cholesterol sufferers is bay leaves. This is because bay leaves contain various active compounds such as flavonoids which can prevent the oxidation of Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) and prevent the deposition of fat on blood vessel walls. Saponins can prevent fat absorption, increase excretion in the urine so that fat does not accumulate. This case study aims to provide an overview of implementing the provision of bay leaf boiled water in reducing cholesterol levels in Mrs. R at the health center often in Sidorejo sub-district, Medan Tembung sub-district. The type of research is descriptive with an observational approach through case studies to obtain an overview of the use of bay leaf boiled water in hypercholesterolemia sufferers. The subjects used in the case studies taken were patients with hypercholesterolemia. The instruments used in data collection were family protection observation sheets and taking action to apply boiled bay leaf water. The results of the research showed that boiled bay leaf water was effective in reducing cholesterol levels as applied by Mrs. R taken twice a day, namely morning and evening for 11 days, resulted in a decrease in cholesterol levels from 263 mg/dl to 187 mg/dl.

Abstract

Pulmonary Tuberculosis is a disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium Tuberculosis which enters the respiratory tract and attacks the lungs so that in the alveoli there are nodules or inflammation in the walls of the alveoli which will shrink. One way to reduce secretions in pulmonary tuberculosis patients is through effective coughing exercises. This article uses a case study design and the subjects used in this case are pulmonary tuberculosis patients treated at RSI Malahayati Medan with the problem of ineffective airway clearance. The results of implementing the intervention showed that after applying the effective cough technique for 3 days the patient showed that the patient was able to expel secretions, the respiratory frequency decreased to 22 times per minute, but there were still crackles in the breath. Conclusion: applying effective coughing techniques to patients can be used to expel secretions and can reduce respiratory frequency in pulmonary tuberculosis patients. Suggestions are expected for patients to be able to take independent action (cough effectively) when experiencing problems with ineffective airway clearance.
