Abstract

This study aims to determine the birth of the history of the si semba' tradition in Kande Api, the perception of the Kande Api community about the existence of external stigma related to the si semba' tradition which contains violence and how the community carries out the si semba' tradition in the midst of the co-19 pandemic. This research uses qualitative research methods with observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and in-depth analysis to obtain the desired data. The results of this study indicate that: the si semba' tradition was born from the habits of ancestors who used to only be carried out when there was a death party or rambu solo by the noble class. The tradition of si semba' which involves foot fighting does not mean violence at all but is a form of brotherhood and friendship values. The way to carry out the si semba' tradition during the covid-19 pandemic was to limit the participants who participated in the si semba' tradition.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the phenomenon of the proliferation of coffee shops showing a shift in people's behavior. The visitors' interest in coffee shops does not necessarily arise from the taste and aroma of coffee served. But for loyal visitors to the coffee shop, keep or make a coffee shop as one of the daily activities that also have an important role in everyday life. This study aims to determine the customer interaction of the parking lot on Jalan Bawakaraeng, Sinjai Regency. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research with a total of 10 informants. The results showed that the social interaction patterns of Warkop customers were interactions in the form of cooperation, competition, conflict, accommodation and assimilation that occurred at certain times, and each form of interaction could be in the form of interactions between individuals and individuals, groups and groups. groups and form a lifestyle and community. The driving factor for mutual interaction with fellow customers and fellow Warkop owners in this study is that imitation in this case mimics the desires of other customers in terms of taste, identification and motivation while the penghamabt factor is sometimes a suspicion towards other warkop and other customers. The positive impact of Warkop is as a place to drink coffee for coffee lovers, a place to relax, a place to eliminate boredom by utilizing existing facilities. The negative impact is the lack of awareness of managing time. Both of these impacts on average have become a lifestyle for some people in Sinjai

Abstract

This research is entitled Patterns of Inter-Religious Social Interaction to Maintain Community Harmony in Solubaja Village, Central Mamuju Regency. This research examines the life of community groups in religious nuances in which the community is able to practice living in harmony between religious communities so that people unconsciously bring peace within themselves. This study uses qualitative research methods to explain phenomena that occur in the village of Sulobaja by collecting data through interviews, observation, and documentation. The quality of inter-religious harmony in the village of Sulobaja has been well developed and maintained, where the community interprets every knowledge and understanding of tolerance, cooperative relations, and inter-religious dialogue as a forum for the community to maintain a life of harmony that has lasted for a long time. It is hoped that the results of this research can function as an instrument by all religious groups in building and maintaining harmonious life among fellow religious communities.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and recognize the use of herbal ingredients as traditional medicine in the Tompobulu community, Bantaeng Regency, community responses related to the development of knowledge on aspects of using herbal plants as traditional medicine, and community efforts to preserve their traditional knowledge about herbal plants. This research is a type of qualitative research that is written descriptively. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation, interviews, and documentation methods involving as many as 18 (eighteen) informants. The results of the study show that: (1) the Tompobulu community recognizes and utilizes herbal medicinal ingredients cannot be separated from the role of sanro and the knowledge of the community itself who seeks out through smart people or electronic media about the efficacy of a type of plant for health; (2) The response of the Tompobulu community to the growth and development of knowledge of herbal medicine starts from the yard of the house where they live which is used to plant herbal medicine or grows wild in the yard, this is the first prevention or treatment for their family against a disease. The lifestyle of returning to nature brings people to use herbal medicinal ingredients and make their own ingredients to maintain health; and (3) Efforts to preserve traditional knowledge carried out by the community through the cultivation of medicinal plants and the process of education from generation to generation both on how to use and efficacy of herbal plants on the human body.

Abstract

The culture of the Javanese people in the wedding process experiences cultural changes due to the many cultural elements originating from other tribes that are included in this traditional Javanese wedding tradition. This cultural shift was caused by various factors so that traditional Javanese weddings were mixed with native Sulawesi culture. There are various rituals that are very long and also take a long time in traditional Javanese weddings. The type of research used in conducting this research is descriptive research using qualitative data. The stages of marriage consist of proposal, preparation, pre-wedding ceremony, wedding ceremony and reception. The Bugis-Makassar and Javanese tribes who live side by side are certainly not free from social interaction. With this form of interaction between tribes, something called acculturation arises. The impact of this change then has positive and negative impacts on society. Starting from the notoni process to the reception, all of these are processes that must be gone through in carrying out a Javanese traditional wedding. The acculturation of Bugis-Makassar tribal culture with Javanese in marriage customs has resulted in Javanese traditional culture being influenced by Bugis-Makassar customs, which are the local and majority community.

Abstract

This study shows that: (1) The function of the implementation of mattampung in Harapan Village is to continue the habit of the previous parents, mattampung also functions as a marker for the next generations in recognizing your siblings or families who have already died. (2) mattampung massa is held once a year in October. After the decision of the adat council is obtained through a process of deliberation. Mass gathering is carried out by preparing betel nut and betel nut leaves, three chickens will be read to the next prayer in give to the customary leader and be taken to the tomb of the deceased person as food for the deceased because the community believes that when the deceased person has not been accommodated, they can still eat like a living person. (3) The values ​​contained in the implementation of mattampung in social terms are the value of mutual cooperation, the value of wisdom or togetherness and the value of friendship. While in terms of the economy, the community is greatly helped by the existence of mass mattampung.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the concept of livelihood strategies and urban slums in a sociological perspective; and what forms a livelihood strategy on families in urban slums, as well as what impact of livehood strategy has on families in urban slums. The literature study method is used in this study, where from the secondary data obtained is then compiled so that later a conclusion can be drawn. The results of this study concluded that the livelihood strategies carried out by families in urban slums in order to meet their needs were carried out through double living patterns, livelihood source engineering, and spatial engineering (migration). The livelihood strategy is a way of adapting the head and family members to maintain the survival and economy of the family. The socio-economic impact of living strategies in meeting the needs of families in urban slums, namely in terms of education, housing, and income. So the family gets from the income of the various kinds of work they do. Therefore, the availability of adequate jobs from the government for families living in urban slums is highly expected.

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the local communities knowledge and belief system of the Pemali tradition in Gowa District, the traditional values ​​of pemali that can construct healthy living behaviors in local communities in Gowa District, the implementation of the value of pemali as a social institution in the modern Gowa community in the modern era. The local people's knowledge and belief system of the Pemali or kasipalli traditions of the local community is formed through socialization in the form of a direct reprimand against a person who is deemed to have violated the matters that are replicated according to their tradition and through the narrative. Traditional Pemali's values ​​that can construct healthy living behaviors in local communities in Gowa District, some of which are the rain shower ban in the first rain after a long drought, the prohibition to roam before dusk, the prohibition of standing in front of the door when opening it in the morning, prohibition of sleep in a haphazard position, and various other types of restrictions.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the socio-economic life of a pedicab driver in Losari Beach and adaptive strategies to meet their daily needs. This research is a qualitative research which is analyzed and written descriptively. Data collection techniques were carried out using the methods of observation, interviews, and documentation by involving 10 (ten) individuals as informants. The results of this study indicate that the socio-economic life of a pedicab driver on Losari beach is currently very worrying. This shows that the income as a pedicab driver in a day is not fixed. The distance traveled and the hours worked determine their income because the longer they work, the more likely they are to earn. The adaptive strategies of pedicab drivers on Losari beach in fulfilling their lives are decreasing with the presence of several types of public transportation such as online motorcycle taxis. The shift of customers from rickshaws to online motorcycle taxis is very detrimental to pedicab drivers. Adaptation strategies are essentially ways of survival that are carried out by everyone. This study aims to determine the form of tolerance that occurs in the family harmony of the Seko community in Harapan Village, Mappedeng District, North Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi Province as well as supporting factors for tolerance between religious communities in family harmony. the Seko community. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The technique of collecting data that the author does in the field is the method of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the form of tolerance that occurs in the family harmony of the Seko community, namely: (a) Mutual cooperation, in terms of they work together in planting rice in the garden or what they often call Mambubu', (b) Maintaining the Silahtuhrahmi Rope, in terms of In this case they will visit each other when holding religious celebrations or parties, (c) Give freedom to practice religion, in this case each member is given the same right to practice religion according to their beliefs. The factors that support the occurrence of tolerance are (a) they are still in the same group, all KKMS members consider that they are all relatives who cannot be separated by anything, including the differences in their beliefs, (b) a strong understanding of the teachings of their respective religions, (c) there is an awareness of peaceful coexistence.uk can maintain its survival.

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the scope of Towani Tolotang culture by explaining the history of the Towani Tolotang people, the spread of Towani Tolotang in Sidenreng Rappang Regency, how Towani Tolotang religiousization in Indonesia, belief systems and social dynamics of the Towani Tolotang people. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method, qualitative method is used to describe how the scope of Towani Tolotang culture is located in Sidenrang Rappang Regency.
