Abstract

This study explores the integration of legal values and morality in the ecological practices of the Santubong community, Sarawak, Malaysia. The Santubong community, comprising diverse ethnic groups such as Malay, Iban, Bidayuh, and Chinese, demonstrates a high level of ecological awareness through the integration of traditional wisdom, legal frameworks, and moral principles. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method, using Focus Group Discussions (FGD), participant observation, and document analysis to collect data. The findings reveal that the Santubong community applies ecological justice, sustainability, responsibility, and respect for nature through customary laws and everyday practices. Their legal values are reflected in sustainable forest management, water conservation, waste management, and biodiversity protection. Meanwhile, moral principles such as respect for nature, collective responsibility, and ethical behavior drive community participation in environmental conservation. The synergy between legal and moral frameworks contributes to effective ecological governance, ensuring that conservation efforts are not only legally compliant but also socially accepted and morally guided. This study concludes that the Santubong community offers a valuable model of ecological governance, demonstrating that the integration of law and morality can support sustainable environmental management and provide insights for broader ecological policies.

Abstract

The transformation of administrative law in the digital era presents challenges and opportunities for transparent governance. The development of information and communication technology has changed the way government administration provides services to the public. Digitalization of public administration not only enhances bureaucratic efficiency and effectiveness but also demands legal reforms to ensure accountability and the protection of citizens' rights. This study aims to analyze the impact of administrative law transformation in the digital era on government transparency and identify emerging challenges and opportunities. By understanding these changes, this research seeks to provide policy recommendations for creating a more transparent and accountable administrative system. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach. Data were collected through literature studies, analysis of legal regulations, and interviews with legal and public administration experts. The findings were then evaluated based on administrative law theories and the principles of good governance. indicate that the digitalization of government administration significantly contributes to increased transparency, efficiency, and accountability. However, several challenges must be addressed, such as data protection, digital divide, and resistance to change within the bureaucracy. Therefore, adaptive regulations and supportive policies are needed to ensure justice, openness, and public participation in governance.

Abstract

In the use of social media for all groups is very diverse. Social media has a great impact on its users. Social media is used to communicate, get information, express themselves and so on. The use of social media can cause positive and negative communication in adolescents. The impact of positive communication in adolescents can connect with family even though the distance between the two is far. In addition, social media is a source of information that is broad and easy to access wherever we are. Teenagers can learn various current news topics to school information. Providing space for teenagers to express themselves and show their talents through various visual, audio-visual and written content. The impact of negative communication on excessive use of social media can increase the risk of depression, anxiety, and sleep disorders. Social pressure that can compare yourself to others on social media. Increasing cyberbulling, body shaming, and online fraud. In addition, the use of social media becomes a dependency and addiction so that many teenagers spend their time using social media so that it hinders learning, working and interacting directly with others. The purpose of writing this scientific article is to determine the impact of positive and negative communication on adolescents, especially adolescents who are still in school.

Abstract

Mengingat besarnya tugas dan tanggung jawab yang diemban oleh lembaga legislatif daerah di era otonomi saat ini, maka perlu kiranya dikaji faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kinerja lembaga tersebut. Efektivitas lembaga legislatif dalam sistem politik merupakan cerminan sejauh mana kehidupan berbangsa dan bernegara yang demokratis telah terlaksana. Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Daerah Kota Prabumulih dibekali dengan tanggung jawab, wewenang, hak, dan kewajiban dalam menjalankan perannya. Banyaknya usulan Rencana Pemerintahan Daerah yang bermuara pada Peraturan Daerah yang dihasilkan melalui kegiatan penyusunan Peraturan Daerah di Kota Prabumulih merupakan wujud kinerja anggota DPRD dalam hal ini. Selain itu, hasil peraturan daerah yang telah disetujui menunjukkan apakah peraturan daerah tersebut sesuai atau tidak dengan situasi dan kondisi di wilayah Kota Prabumulih. Studi tentang penerapan peran legislatif DPRD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kinerja fungsi legislasi anggota Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Daerah (Dprd) Kota Prabumulih tahun 2023. Penelitian pelaksanaan fungsi legislasi DPRD Kota Prabumulih ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Dalam pendekatan kualitatif, proses penelitian dimulai dengan berpikir secara induktif, yakni mengungkap berbagai fakta atau fenomena sosial melalui pengamatan di lapangan, menganalisisnya dan kemudian beruapaya melakukan teorisasi berdasarkan apa yang diamati. Hasil penelitian ini dituangkan dalam Laporan Kinerja DPRD Kota Prabumulih dalam Fungsi Legislasi 2022–2023. Dalam hal ini, masyarakat menyampaikan sejumlah aspirasi kepada DPRD Kota Prabumilih, dan DPRD beserta Pemerintah Daerah menanggapinya dengan membuat peraturan daerah. DPRD Kota Prabumulih telah menjalankan perannya sebagai mediator, menjembatani kesenjangan kepentingan antara kelompok masyarakat dengan pemerintah daerah, atau antara kelompok masyarakat dengan dirinya sendiri.

Abstract

Democracy in elections includes the principles of transparency and integrity. A transparent electoral process allows citizens to clearly understand how elections are conducted, from the candidate registration stage to the vote count. Electoral integrity requires fair and non-discriminatory treatment of all voters and candidates, and the prevention of fraudulent or manipulative practices. In recent decades, there has been a significant increase in negative feelings and distrust of democratic processes, particularly with regard to how governments interact in elections. The stigma against democracy in the context of elections has become a major concern in political and academic debates. This article examines this stigma, particularly in relation to the assumption of government partiality in the electoral process. The background summarizes the development of the concept of democracy and the challenges faced in modern electoral practice. The aim is to analyze the impact of such assumptions on the integrity and fairness of elections. The research method used a qualitative approach with a case study and literature review. The results highlight practices that can reinforce the stigma of democracy, including electoral manipulation, state media dominance and restrictions on political freedoms. The conclusion emphasizes the need for concerted efforts to overcome this stigma by improving electoral integrity, increasing government transparency, and strengthening public participation. This article provides important insights for understanding the challenges faced by democracies in maintaining their legitimacy in the eyes of society.
