AL-ARAF: Jurnal Pemikiran Islam dan Filsafat is highly dedicated as a public space to explore and socialise academic ideas and research findings from the researchers, academics, and practitioners who are concerned with developing and promoting the values of religious moderation and tolerance, with the following but not limited to, six main topics: (1) Islamic Thought; (2) Islamic Philosophy; (3) Islamic Theology; (4) Islam and Politics; (5) Islam and Culture; and (6) Qur’an and Hadith Studies. Taking an expansive view of the subject, the journal brings together all disciplinary perspectives. It publishes peer-reviewed articles on the historical, cultural, social, philosophical, political, anthropological, literary, and other aspects of the subject in all times and places. The journal aims to become one of the leading platforms in the world for new findings and discussions of all the aforementioned fields. Academics from any countries who are interested in these topics are cordially invited to submit their article to Al-A’raf and to use this open-access journal. Novelty and recency of issues are the priority in publishing.

Abstract

Manhaj Dzawi An-Nadhar is as one of the best literature inthe filed of Hadis which is writtten by an Indonesian Ulama,Muhammad Mahfudh bin Abdullah At-Tirmasiy. It has well known asa masterwork which is scientifically qualified and acknowledge bemutual accroding to the Islamic tecahing tradition compared to thegolden age. This masterwork has been used as one of the primaryreferences in Al-Azhar University‟s libarary, Cairo. Eventhough, whathas been trying by Hadratus Syaikh Hasyim Asy‟ari to socializing hadisand ulumul hadis in Indonesia, seemed broken off and stopped away.Trend of the Indonesian Islamic studies has been always absorbed andmore focusing on the tasawuf and fiqih.

Abstract

The source of conflict within Muslim community is notcoming from Qur’an, but from its reader. The situation is contributingto rising conflict within every Muslims that believed Qur’an asguidance (huda), explanation (bayyinat), and distinguishing (furqon).Those conflicts should be terminated through going back to theQur’an as form of confirmation (tabayyun), not confrontation(tafarraqu, taba’adu, and tanaza’u), in order that Muslimcommunities have not avoiding the plurality of their realities and thatrequisite conflict and controversy. Thereby the study making sense tothe reader because Hadits believed as the second source of Islamiclaw after the Qur’an which is functioned as bayan tafsr, bayan taqrir,and bayan tasyri’ of the Qur’an, giving instruction to stay away fromthe Qur’an when the disagreement (ḥilafiyat) emerged. In order toknow the Hadis could be used as hujjah or not, the study covered:takhrij al-hadis, i’tibar as-sanad, naqd as-sanad (critic of sanad),naqd al-matn (critic of matan).

Abstract

As Muslim we have an obligatory to have good enoughunderstanding about the Holy Qur’an. As one ways for Muslims to getgood enough understanding and practing the essential message ofQur’an, some of the Islamic scholar published some books ofQur’anic interpretation (Tafsir). Even actually all of Muslim hasgiven good enough freedom to utilize their mind to interprete the HolyQur’an, but there were some limitations from the mind. Therefore, allof muslims are reminding to be careful to interpret the Qur’anicverses, through understanding which part of the verses which ispermitted to be interpreted and which is prohibited.Key-words: Pemahaman, Interpretasi, dan pengamalanPendahuluan

Abstract

To study Hadis, authenticity, validity, and reliability of themethod are very fundamental dimension. The doubt of some of theMuslim scholars on the role of Hadis as second aurthorized sourceafter Qur‟an were not fully related to their resistances to Sunnah, butmore on the doubt to the accuracy of method which is used to decidethe originality of Hadis. The study on the authetification of Hadiswhich is done by Harald Moztki started from the data analysis on thebook of al-Musannaf written by Abdurrazzaq As-Shan‟ani. According toMoztki, the book of al-Musannaf is documentation of Hadis which isvery authentic since 1st Century of Hijriyah. It meant there was realevidence that Islamic Lawa has exis at the time. This finding directlybrought down Moztki predecessor, G.H.A. Juynboll J. and projectingback of Schacht that stated that Sanad‟s system started from the 2ndcentury of Hiriyah.

Abstract

Historically, the development of Muslim community,especially in Indonesia, has indicated that wakaf has a big contribution.As big as its role, people may not be able to think about how Muslimcommunity could develop without without wakaf. Nevertheless, thosedevelopments also bring various critics, especially regarding on thephenomena of comsumtif wakaf in the sosciety. There were limitedwakaf which were cultivated productively, in which the benefit could beused to be able to support the poor people. As its consequences, therewere some cases that showed that wakaf was not able to coverpeople/society needs. Therefore, the exact and proper metode incultivating wakalf nowadays is really needed.

Abstract

The study aims to describe tasawuf, which is focusing on thedevelopment history, various madzhab, and its teaching cores. Thedevelopment of tasawuf has divided into five periodes: formation,development, consolidation, philosophical, and purification. Within itsdevelopment‟s history tasawuf has three main madzhab with theirrespective loyal followers. All of those madzhab have agreed that themain teaching of tasawuf is cleaning the sould to be able to be closedto God with the certain methods. Those mazhabs have differentopinions on the form of the method, stage of maqamat, and theexistence of ahwal.

Abstract

The article compares the interests of Islamic scholars(ulama‟) in the Hadith (book) of Shahih Bukhari. Two methods ofinterpreting hadith of Shahih Bukhari were taken from two differentbooks (kitab). They are Fath al-Bari which was written by Ibnu Hajar al-Asqalani and „Umdatul Qari which was written by Badr al-Dîn al-`Ainî.The explanation from Umdah al-Qârî is easier to understand than Fathal-Bari because it was arranged in systematic ways. On the other hand,Fath al-Bârî emphasizes on the explanation of the problems anddescribes the problems found in hadith of Shahih Bukhari in details.The differences among the Islamic scholars (ulama‟) in interpretinghadith of Shahih Bukhari show their interests in researching hadiths,which came originally from Prophet Muhammad PBUH.

Abstract

Pesantren (Islamic boarding school) with its typology hasgiven effect to the civilization in Indonesia. Pesantren in Indonesiaplays three important roles in Islamic civilization. First, pesantrenserves as center of religious study that creates muslim scholars, so thatthey will develop Islamic teachings. Second, the act of openness to themodernization by considering about the act of selectivity that functionsas a filter. Third, pesantren creates a link to connect among religion,culture and local wisdom.

Abstract

Koran (Al-Quran) is not the book of history. The fact is ittells the reader about chronological events in a story or set of histories.The article describes the views from Koran about the history andexplains about the historical problems in Koran‟s views. The moralfactor has the special portions in Koran. This factor can perpetuate thenation of being destroyed. It is accepted by the Moslem scholars(ulama‟) that the moral factor gives the direct implication in practicaldaily lives, as the parameter of personality, and as the behavior of ahuman in a nation or a community. The histories revealed by Koranare the „living history‟ and the events that involve the readers to haveconversations and participate in dialogues.

Abstract

The ethics taught in Pre-Kant era was eudemonistic. Thenature of moral proposed by Kant was the awareness of the obligation,absolute obligation. But there was no relationship between obligationand happiness. Actually Kant did not reject the acts which came frompositive feelings, but rejected the acts appeared from the feelings. Kantemphasized that the real moral awareness independently appear whenthere is no natural tendensi or social habit. If a person show his/ herhonesty from the deepest of his/ her heart, then he/she has the moralvalue. There is a possibility that being honest came from the socialoppression. Kant, also claimed that people obey and follow anobligation in which they do not have beliefs. Those are the reasons ofKant as quoted on the statement “das moralische Gesetz in mir“
