Abstract

This study intends to investigate how Adversity Quotient (AQ) or Intelligence in Facing Student Obstacles might be formed through online learning at PTKIs, the Private University in Malang and the Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang. The COVID-19 epidemic, which compelled universities to adapt to online learning, caused alterations in learning patterns at PTKI, which served as the foundation for this study. The study aimed to explore the Adversity Quotient among students, focusing on four core dimensions: Control, Ownership, Reach, and Endurance. Additionally, the study examined four dimensions pertinent to online learning: Student Performance, Technology, Lecturer, and Self-Regulation. As a result, it is clear that the responders at the State University of Malang have performed admirably, are able to overcome obstacles, and are able to maximize the potential that rises daily. In contrast to the low scores of University "X" Malang respondents. As long as life proceeds pretty smoothly, the individual is often responsible for navigating it. However, the individual may experience more setbacks or become disheartened by the accumulation of life's difficulties In addition to offering recommendations for the future development of online learning, it is envisaged that this research will give an overview of how online learning at PTKI can affect students' AQ.

Abstract

Moral education serves as a fundamental pillar in shaping students’ character, particularly at the primary school level. This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of a habit-based moral education program at SDN 7 Ampenan, a school situated within a complex social environment. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the programs Berbaris Kasih Sayang (Affectionate Morning Line-up), Upacara Pagi Spiritual (Spiritual Morning Ceremony), and the Literaksi Program are consistently implemented to instill moral values in students. Classroom strategies employed by teachers—such as providing positive affirmations, facilitating spiritual reflection, assigning daily moral tasks, and managing conflicts in an educational manner—further reinforce the internalization of moral values in students’ daily lives. The program has shown a significant impact, particularly on students from less supportive family backgrounds, by fostering self-confidence, empathy, and discipline. These findings highlight the importance of a structured habituation approach and emotionally supportive teacher-student relationships in the success of moral education. The study recommends the adoption of similar programs in other schools, with necessary adaptations to suit their respective social and cultural contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on the critical thinking skills of fifth grade students in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS). The type of research used is quantitative with an experimental method, using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were 24 fifth grade students at State Elementary School 124401 Pematangsiantar. The research instrument is a critical thinking essay test that has been validated by experts. The results of the study showed a significant increase in students' critical thinking skills after implementing the PjBL model. The students' average pretest score was 52.5, which increased to 85.33 on the posttest. The N-gain calculation produces a score of 0.70 which is in the high category. This proves that the PjBL model is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills. The implication of this research is that teachers can utilize PjBL as an alternative learning model to improve the quality of students' critical thinking at UPTD SD 124401 Pematangsiantar.

Abstract

Prospective elementary school teachers often encounter difficulties in understanding the Basic Science Concepts course, particularly on topics such as Motion, Force, and Simple Machines. These challenges are influenced by students’ diverse academic backgrounds, which affect their initial conceptual understanding. This study aims to enhance students’ learning outcomes through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Kahoot media within a Lesson Study framework. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The participants were students from class C24D (22 students) and class C24E (23 students) of the Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Program, Campus V, Universitas Negeri Makassar. Data were collected through observation of learning activities and learning outcome tests. The findings revealed a steady improvement in students’ achievement, with the average score increasing from 62 (57.78% mastery) in the pre-cycle to 69 (64.44% mastery) in the first cycle, and reaching 86 (84.44% mastery) in the second cycle. Furthermore, student participation, collaboration, problem-solving ability, and engagement through Kahoot also increased, while lecturer performance was rated as very good. Therefore, the implementation of the PBL model assisted by Kahoot media effectively improved students’ understanding and learning outcomes in Basic Science Concepts

Abstract

This study aims to improve fourth-grade students’ critical thinking skills through the implementation of Zep Quiz in Integrated Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning. Employing a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design, the study was conducted in three cycles, each comprising the stages of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research involved 23 students, consisting of 14 boys and 9 girls. Data were collected using teacher and student activity observation sheets and a critical thinking skills test administered at the end of each cycle. The results indicated a consistent increase in students’ critical thinking performance: the average score improved from 68.26 (56.52% mastery) in Cycle I to 77.04 (78.26% mastery) in Cycle II, and finally to 86.09 (91.30% mastery) in Cycle III. Teacher and student activities also showed progressive improvement, moving from the “fair” to the “very good” category. These findings demonstrate that the integration of Zep Quiz into IPAS instruction effectively enhances students’ critical thinking skills by fostering interactive, engaging, and motivating learning experiences that encourage active participation and deeper cognitive processing.
