Abstract

At present, computers have been widely used in the medical field to assist in diagnosing diseases. One of the most important and frequently encountered diseases is cholesterol-related disease. Cholesterol is a condition that affects many people in Boalemo Regency; however, its treatment is often limited to traditional medicine, and the community tends to be passive regarding the dangers of this condition, resulting in low awareness of their health status. One technique for diagnosing cholesterol-related disease is the use of an expert system. Therefore, this study aims to determine how to design and develop an expert system for diagnosing cholesterol-related disease using the case-based reasoning method, which is capable of performing an initial diagnosis without the direct involvement of an expert or healthcare professional, thereby enabling earlier and more appropriate patient management. The results indicate that the designed cholesterol diagnosis system can be effectively utilized. This is evidenced by testing conducted using the white-box testing method and basis path analysis, which produced a cyclomatic complexity value of V(G) = 5 (CC). In addition, black-box testing demonstrates the correctness of the system logic, indicating that the flowchart logic is valid and that the resulting system is accurate and feasible for use

Abstract

Coal quality is largely determined by physical and chemical parameters, including moisture content, calorific value, total sulfur content, air-dry loss, and ash fusion temperature. This study aims to determine the quality of lignite coal in Paser Regency, East Kalimantan Province, based on the parameters of air-dry loss, moisture content, total moisture, total sulfur, and calorific value. The method used was laboratory analysis of three coal samples—PL, M, and SM—with the tested parameters including air-dry loss, moisture content, total moisture, calorific value, and total sulfur. The results showed that sample PL had an air-dry loss of 11.04%, moisture content of 13.45%, total moisture of 24.97%, and a calorific value of 5,117 kcal/kg; sample M had an air-dry loss of 12.48%, moisture content of 13.62%, total moisture of 24.97%, and a calorific value of 4,909 kcal/kg; while sample SM had an air-dry loss of 19.34%, moisture content of 15.01%, total moisture of 32.31%, and a calorific value of 4,352 kcal/kg. Based on these results, the PL sample had the highest quality with a calorific value of 5,117 kcal/kg, due to its lower dry loss and moisture content compared to the M and SM samples. Physically, the PL sample also exhibited better characteristics, namely a darker color, producing less dust during the crushing process, and being less brittle. The conclusion of this study is that the quality of lignite coal in the study area is largely determined by its low moisture content and high calorific value, with the PL sample being the highest-quality sample among the three tested

Abstract

Kapontori District, Buton Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province" aims to assess water quality conditions surrounding the nickel mining site and identify potential environmental impacts. The study focuses on surface water located in the vicinity of mining operations, utilizing both physical and chemical parameters. The methodology involves water sampling and the subsequent comparison of laboratory test results against the standards set by the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry Number 05 of 2022. This research is expected to provide insights into actual water quality conditions, identify potential pollution resulting from mining activities, and illustrate the distribution patterns of impacts on surface water and community water sources. Furthermore, the study aims to offer recommendations for environmental management, specifically regarding pollution prevention, acid mine drainage control, and the improvement of mine water management systems. Scientifically, this research contributes to the advancement of knowledge in the fields of mining environment, environmental geochemistry, and mine hydrology. Practically, it provides a foundation for mining companies, local governments, and the community to enhance efforts in managing and protecting water quality in Kapontori District, Buton Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province

Abstract

This study aims to identify associated elements in nickel ore and estimate their economic value in the stockpile area of PT. Z, South Konawe Regency. A quantitative approach was applied using photogrammetric data, material density, moisture content, X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) assay results, and benchmark mineral prices for July 2026. The volumes of seven stockpiles (NDJ 1–NDJ 7) were determined through three-dimensional modelling and converted into tonnage using a material density of 1.6 t/m³. The estimated economic value was calculated using the Mineral Reference Price (HPM) formulation stipulated in Ministerial Decree of Energy and Mineral Resources No. 144.K/MB.01/MEM.B/2026 and compared with the formulation under Decree No. 268.K/MB.01/MEM.B/2025. XRF results indicated Ni grades of 1.54%–1.73%, Fe 11.71%–18.41%, Co 0.030%–0.062%, and Cr 0.595%–1.197%. The total stockpile material amounted to 501,192.0 WMT. The estimated economic value based on the 2026 HPM formulation reached USD 38,314,418.4, compared with USD 19,233,221.8 under the 2025 formulation, resulting in an estimated difference of USD 19,081,196.6. The findings indicate that the revised HPM formulation results in a higher estimated economic value of the stockpile material by incorporating qualifying associated elements into mineral valuation.

Abstract

Labota Village in Morowali Regency holds significant potential for development in the areas of settlement, infrastructure, and natural resource exploration—specifically regarding groundwater and mineral deposits. To ensure the sustainable utilization of these resources, information regarding subsurface conditions is crucial. Combined geophysical survey results and field observations indicate that the uppermost layer in Labota Village consists of surface sediments or topsoil of relatively shallow thickness. Underlying this is a conglomerate rock layer with resistivity values ranging from 2,000 Ωm to 20,000 Ωm. Quaternary sediments overlie ultramafic bedrock (Ku), which exhibits resistivity values of ≥20,000 Ωm. The resistivity variations obtained from the survey are consistent with the lithological characteristics observed in the field, thereby reinforcing the interpretation of the subsurface layers
