Abstract

The golden age is a crucial period in child development that is strongly influenced by the quality of parental caregiving. However, many parents still lack adequate understanding of effective parenting strategies that align with early childhood developmental stages. This community service program aimed to enhance parents’ knowledge and skills in implementing effective parenting during the golden age through the “Smart Parenting for Parents” seminar program. The activity was conducted on January 31, 2026, in collaboration with Semarang Zoo as a partner, involving approximately 700 participants from the Kaliwungu district. The method applied was participatory psychoeducation through parenting seminars for parents combined with a colouring competition designed as a creative and developmental stimulation activity for children. The results showed high participant enthusiasm and increased parental understanding regarding positive parenting practices, effective communication, and active parental involvement in children’s activities. Additionally, the program provided enjoyable learning experiences for children through creative engagement. This program is expected to serve as a model for community service initiatives that strengthen the role of families in early childhood caregiving during the golden age.

Abstract

The largest source of waste comes from residential areas, the composition is 75% organic waste and only 25% inorganic waste. Organic waste has been widely used as a material for making compost, briquettes and biogas, but inorganic waste is still very minimally managed. The most inorganic waste found in society is plastic waste. In 2008, the production of plastic waste for packaging was 925,000 tons and around 80% of it has the potential to become waste that is hazardous to the environment. Because of its large potential, it would be better to utilize this plastic waste into creative products and services in order to manage plastic waste properly, so that plastic really supports our lives. As a creative product, plastic waste creations have promising commercial value. This product has a selling power that can generate profits. In general, this business is divided into two types, namely products and services.

Abstract

Canva training was conducted during community service at the An-Nawawi 2 Magelang Islamic boarding school. The purpose of this community service is to explain how to enhance creativity by utilizing the Canva application as a means of development and progress for the boarding school. Through this training, participants will be trained to create attractive professional promotional materials, such as posters, brochures, leaflets, and social media content, with the aim of improving the image and expanding the reach of the boarding school's da'wah. Additionally, this training allows the boarding school to remain independent and build its own visual identity, such as by creating logos for various business units. This will enable the boarding school to increase its branding value and business appeal. It is expected that the use of the Canva application will accelerate the process of enhancing the creativity of the students, and make the pesantren (Islamic boarding school) more prepared to keep up with technological advancements, thereby expanding the role of da'wah and strengthening the economic independence of the pesantren. This study uses the ABCD (Asset Based Community Development) method. This method is intended so that the students can better utilize modern digitalization for the progress of the pesantren. The subjects of this community service are the students. The results of this service show that in the Discovery method, digital design knowledge is still low. In the Dream method, it was found that students and pesantren administrators hope that the pesantren can be better known to the outside community. In the Design method, strategic initiatives were designed to advance the students' creative thinking by conducting small-scale socialization on the basic knowledge of using Canva. In the Design method, the strategic initiative is created to advance the creative thinking of the students by conducting a small-scale socialization on basic knowledge of using Canva. In the Define method, Canva training focuses on enhancing the abilities of students and student administrators to create promotional designs, dakwah content, and pesantren business logos. Besides developing the image, it can also be used for digital dakwah and the economic independence of the pesantren. In the Destiny/Delivery method, researchers implement all the plans that have been made by collaborating with administrators and students to ensure that this Canva socialization can become an engaging and comfortable way to expand the reach of promotions as well as channel students' creativity through the Appreciative Inquiry approach (Discovery, Dream, Define, Destiny).

Abstract

The ongoing growth of digital technology has brought meaningful changes to learning practices in primary education, especially in helping students understand science concepts that are abstract in nature. In elementary classrooms, students often struggle to grasp such concepts due to the lack of learning media that are concrete, interactive, and able to support deeper conceptual understanding. This community service program was designed to respond to this challenge by integrating Augmented Reality (AR) as an innovative learning medium in science instruction at SD IT Al Munir Pekanbaru. The activity concentrated on science topics related to living organisms, including land and aquatic organisms, their habitats, and the distinction between beneficial and harmful living things. The primary aim of the program was to improve students’ understanding of abstract science concepts while also fostering higher learning motivation through the use of interactive AR-based media. A descriptive qualitative approach was applied, encompassing stages of preparation, classroom implementation, observation, and evaluation to ensure the activity was carried out in a structured manner. Learning activities utilized the Belajar Makhluk Hidup IPA application, which allows students to interact directly with three-dimensional virtual objects using mobile devices during lessons. Data were gathered through classroom observations, student discussions, and direct feedback, and were supported by relevant literature to strengthen the analysis. The distinctive aspect of this program lies in the real-time use of AR technology that enables students to explore three-dimensional representations of science objects, thereby transforming abstract concepts into more concrete and contextual learning experiences. The findings indicate that students showed higher engagement, enthusiasm, and active participation, as evidenced by their improved ability to explain characteristics, habitats, and classifications of living organisms. Overall, the use of Augmented Reality in science learning proved effective in enhancing students’ motivation and conceptual understanding, while also demonstrating the importance of combining pedagogical planning, effective classroom management, and technological innovation to support sustainable implementation in primary education settings.

Abstract

The background of this community service initiative is rooted in the deteriorating road infrastructure conditions in Rawajaya Village, North Halmahera Regency. Significant structural damage to the village's primary pathways has created a bottleneck for local economic growth and restricted social accessibility for residents. The core problem addressed in this program is the lack of technical and managerial capacity among the local community to maintain their roads independently. This deficit has led to a chronic dependency on regional government assistance, which is often delayed or insufficient to address immediate local needs. To tackle these challenges, a comprehensive eight-week program was implemented using a multi-faceted methodology. This included participatory socialization, hands-on technical training for road repairs utilizing sustainable local materials, and intensive workshops on budget management. The novelty of this initiative lies in its integrated approach: the introduction of appropriate technology—specifically a simplified road damage measurement tool—combined with the formal establishment of a Community-Based Road Maintenance Working Group (Pokja). This structural innovation represents the first time such a localized governance model has been applied within the village. The results and discussions highlight a substantial increase in local capacity. Out of the 48 participants involved, 82% demonstrated the proficiency required to accurately diagnose various types of road distress and are now equipped to execute independent repairs. Furthermore, the community successfully drafted an accountable maintenance budget plan, marking a transition toward transparent financial self-govern ance. In conclusion, this community service demonstrates that a combination of practical, hands-on training and the formalization of working groups is highly effective in fostering rural independence regarding infrastructure management. However, the long-term sustainability of this progress remains contingent upon the commitment of the village government. Specifically, the strategic allocation of Village Funds (Dana Desa) for the collective procurement of materials and equipment is essential to ensure that the newly formed Pokja remains operational and impactful in the years to come.

Abstract

Stunting can be seen physically with a child's height being shorter than children of the same age. At this time, nutritional problems still occur and are a national problem. Stunting does not occur suddenly, but can occur over a very long period of time starting from children in the womb to toddlers not getting sufficient nutritional intake. Based on the results of interviews with several community leaders, it was stated that there are still residents of Banjarsari Village, Gajah District, Demak Regency who have insufficient knowledge about the importance of nutritious food to prevent stunting in children. Community service is carried out with the aim of providing an understanding of education about stunting prevention regulation and how to overcome stunting in Banjarsari Village, Gajah District, Demak Regency. After the community service activities, a post-test was carried out and the results obtained were 20 participants who 100% understood stunting prevention regulation and how to deal with stunting in children.

Abstract

Adolescence is a phase of identity search full of dynamics. Teenagers begin to want recognition, try new things, and are often influenced by their environment and social media. Amid the rapid currents of globalization and technological advancement, moral values are often neglected, resulting in deviant behavior such as free association. Free association is a deviant behavior that violates the social, religious, and legal norms prevailing in society. This term is often associated with negative actions beyond reasonable limits, especially among adolescents. This behavior includes promiscuity, drug use, excessive alcohol consumption, and other criminal acts. The implementation of Community Service activities with the theme 'The Role of Islamic Values in Shielding Teenagers from Free Association' is based on the basic concept that Islamic values are one of the components of the rules or religious norms that apply in community life It is very important for every person as a guideline in their social life, especially for teenagers in every aspect of their interactions, so that they can avoid every type of free association. This Community Service activity is carried out in the form of counseling and education with the theme of The Role of Islamic Values in Shielding Teenagers from Free Association in Lonjoboko Village, Parangloe District, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi Province. The results achieved from the implementation of this community service activity are: increased knowledge of teenagers about the Role of Islamic Values as a Moral Shield, instilling a sense of shame and responsibility, directing the energy and potential of teenagers, fostering social control and an Islamic environment, strategies for forming Islamic teenagers, as well as the exemplary role of parents and teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to increase students’ interest in learning the Holy Scriptures among tenth-grade students of Bhakti Luhur Catholic Senior High School Malang through interactive and contextual learning methods. This research was motivated by the low interest of students in participating in Holy Scripture learning due to monotonous and less engaging teaching methods. Therefore, a learning assistance program using a participatory approach was conducted to encourage students to become more active and interested in understanding the Holy Scriptures. The research method used was descriptive qualitative through observation, interviews, and learning assistance activities. The stages of the research included observing students’ conditions, identifying problems, and implementing learning activities through group discussions, reflections, and audiovisual media. The novelty of this study lies in the use of a contextual approach that connects the Holy Scriptures with students’ daily life experiences. The results showed that students became more active, enthusiastic, and more interested in reading and understanding the Holy Scriptures. In addition, a communicative and creative learning atmosphere helped increase students’ learning motivation, making Holy Scripture learning more enjoyable and meaningful.

Abstract

The increasingly competitive labor market requires fresh graduates to possess adequate work readiness skills, particularly in preparing curriculum vitae (CV) and facing job interviews professionally. However, many fresh graduates still experience difficulties in presenting their competencies through CV writing and interview communication. This community service activity aimed to improve work readiness among fresh graduates through interview training and professional CV preparation in Tangerang. The methods used in this activity included counseling, training, direct practice, interview simulations, and mentoring. The activity involved 35 participants consisting of fresh graduates who were preparing to enter the workforce. The implementation stages included preliminary observation, preparation of training materials, delivery of materials, CV writing practice, interview simulations, evaluation, and mentoring. The results of the activity showed that participants experienced increased understanding regarding professional CV preparation, interview techniques, communication skills, and self-confidence in facing recruitment processes. Participants were also able to improve the structure and content of their CVs according to industry standards. Interview simulations provided practical experience that helped participants answer questions more systematically and confidently. This activity contributed positively to improving participant employability skills and work readiness in facing increasingly competitive labor market conditions. Therefore, interview and CV training activities are considered effective in supporting the development of human resources among fresh graduates in Tangerang.
