Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the management strategies and digital transformation of the institutional repository at the Library of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS). The research focused on how repository management is systematically implemented and how the transformation evolved from a manual system to a self-upload digital platform. A qualitative approach was used, employing in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation as data collection techniques. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The findings revealed that UMS Library has undergone a gradual transformation in managing its repository, starting from collecting academic works in CD format to implementing a self-upload system using Eprints. The management strategies included technical infrastructure, institutional policy support, and collaboration with the university’s IT team. Although the repository has positively impacted operational efficiency and academic visibility, it still faces challenges such as storage limitations and the need for ongoing system updates. The study concludes that the success of repository transformation is influenced by the synergy between institutional policy, technology adoption, and human resource involvement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the information needs of users at the Regional Library (Perpusda) using a qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with librarians and surveys distributed to library users. The findings indicate that the library has provided collection request facilities through manual forms and digital barcodes; however, the realization of procurement is still constrained by time and budget limitations. Collection evaluation is conducted periodically through procurement meetings and weeding activities to maintain the relevance of the collection. On the other hand, user preferences are predominantly focused on fiction collections, while certain fields such as language and general works remain limited. The survey results reveal users’ needs for increased collection availability, more responsive service access, and improvements in the information retrieval system. These findings highlight the importance of two-way communication between librarians and users in formulating service policies that are more adaptive to evolving needs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of the storytelling method in improving the literacy skills of third-grade students at SDN 2 Tanjungsari, Boyolangu District, Tulungagung Regency. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with 42 students as research subjects. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation of activities. The storytelling method was applied through activities such as listening to stories with contextual themes, rewriting the content of the stories, and reading the results aloud in front of the class. The results of the study showed positive developments in students' literacy skills, including reading, writing, and speaking. Students were able to construct simple sentences more coherently, showed increased confidence in reading their writing, and participated more actively in speaking activities. However, there were still obstacles in the form of spelling errors, varying reading fluency, and limited vocabulary in some students. Overall, the storytelling method proved to be effective as a contextual and enjoyable integrated literacy learning approach for elementary school students, especially in lower grades. This method can be applied in long-term learning as a more innovative, creative, and student-centered learning approach.
