Abstract

The Fun English at SDN 6 Tambak Ukir (FeaST) program was designed to enhance English vocabulary acquisition among elementary school students in 3T (underdeveloped, outermost, and frontier) areas. Implemented at SDN 6 Tambak Ukir, Situbondo, the program addressed the lack of English learning resources and specialized teachers by engaging university student tutors to facilitate interactive learning activities. The program was carried out in three phases: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Activities included vocabulary games, reading exercises, and storytelling to encourage student participation. The results showed a significant improvement in students' English vocabulary and increased engagement in learning. Teachers also gained new teaching strategies to sustain the program beyond its initial implementation. However, challenges such as limited student attendance and varying language proficiency levels required adaptive teaching methods. The FeaST program demonstrates that structured intervention can enhance English language learning in remote schools. Further development and integration into the school curriculum are recommended to ensure long-term sustainability.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital technology requires students to develop strong digital literacy skills to navigate the internet responsibly, securely, and efficiently. However, many students still struggle with distinguishing credible information, safeguarding their personal data, and practicing proper online etiquette. This program was designed to improve the digital literacy of students at SMPN Satap 4 Panarukan through an interactive, hands-on awareness program. The approach involved a pre-test, instructional presentations, discussions, simulations, and a post-test to assess learning outcomes. The pre-test findings revealed that only 31% of the 32 students demonstrated a solid understanding of digital literacy. However, after the program, post-test results indicated a notable improvement, with 81% of students correctly answering questions and exhibiting a deeper comprehension. Moreover, student participation in discussions and simulations increased, reflecting the effectiveness of the chosen methods. Despite these positive outcomes, sustaining digital literacy remains a challenge due to limited technological access and the absence of consistent educator support. To address this, integrating digital literacy into the school curriculum and securing support from various stakeholders is crucial to ensuring students can continuously refine their digital skills.

Abstract

The International Community Service Program (KKN) at Darul Furqon School in Narathiwat, Thailand, aimed to enhance the English language skills of senior high school students through two main activities: teaching English at school and conducting an "English Day" program at the student dormitory. Observations revealed significant challenges in student English proficiency, including limited vocabulary, poor pronunciation, and low grammar skills, compounded by a lack of motivation and teachers' reliance on Thai in the classroom. The KKN program utilized a communication-focused approach, emphasizing vocabulary building, pronunciation practice, and grammar through interactive and immersive activities. The results showed measurable improvements in student confidence and English language use, with students demonstrating better vocabulary implementation, increased speaking confidence, and enhanced understanding of grammar. The program also fostered a collaborative learning environment, benefiting both students and teachers, and offered an innovative model that could be adopted in similar educational settings to improve English language proficiency.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of a Fieldwork Practice (PKL) program for children in care, focusing on enhancing their English language proficiency through innovative teaching methods. The program addressed challenges such as varying proficiency levels, engagement difficulties, and limited technological resources by incorporating tailored materials, gamification, and technology-driven learning. Through interactive activities like storytelling, role-playing, and online quizzes, children in care demonstrated significant improvements in vocabulary, listening, and speaking skills. Additionally, community-building initiatives fostered a supportive learning environment. The results indicate that adaptive methodologies and interactive approaches effectively enhance language acquisition and children in care engagement, offering insights for future educational programs in similar settings.
