Abstract

Adolescent aggression is a significant public health concern, often influenced by parenting styles and broader socio-environmental factors. This study examines the relationship between parenting practices and adolescent aggression, emphasizing the effects of warm versus harsh parenting. Utilizing a systematic narrative review, literature was sourced from databases including Scopus, PubMed, and Web of Science, employing specific inclusion criteria to ensure the reliability of findings. The results indicate that supportive and authoritative parenting styles contribute to lower aggression levels, whereas harsh and neglectful parenting increase the likelihood of aggressive behaviors. Additionally, parental mental health, socio-economic stressors, and peer influences play critical roles in shaping adolescent aggression. The discussion highlights the necessity of policy interventions focusing on parental education, mental health support, and structured community programs to mitigate aggressive tendencies in adolescents. These findings emphasize the importance of a holistic approach that integrates psychological, social, and economic perspectives to develop effective interventions. Future research should prioritize longitudinal studies, cross-cultural comparisons, and community-based intervention assessments to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing adolescent aggression. Addressing these challenges through a multi-pronged strategy can contribute to more effective policies and improved adolescent behavioral outcomes.

Abstract

Start-ups are known for their dynamic and flexible work environments, but such flexibility often comes with high workloads and intense expectations. This study investigates employee perceptions of workplace culture in Indonesian start-ups, focusing on flexibility, leadership, work-life balance, and well-being. Using a qualitative case study approach, in-depth interviews were conducted with HR professionals, executives, and employees across various start-ups. Thematic analysis identified key themes, including the dual role of flexibility as both an advantage and a challenge, the significant influence of leadership on employee satisfaction, and persistent difficulties in maintaining work-life balance. Findings indicate that while flexibility enhances innovation and employee autonomy, excessive workload and unclear boundaries often lead to stress and burnout. Leadership style plays a crucial role, as supportive leaders contribute to a positive culture, whereas high-pressure environments can negatively impact well-being. The study highlights the need for structured policies that promote both performance and employee well-being. These insights contribute to the broader understanding of start-up workplace dynamics and suggest that future research should explore cross-industry comparisons and the long-term effects of work stress in start-ups.

Abstract

Parental involvement in pediatric healthcare decision-making plays a crucial role in shaping child health outcomes. This study explores the impact of communication, emotional support, and systemic factors on parental engagement, drawing from a comprehensive literature review. A systematic search was conducted using databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar, with specific inclusion and exclusion criteria to identify relevant studies. The results reveal that effective communication between parents and healthcare providers significantly enhances parental confidence and participation. Emotional stress and sociocultural dynamics, however, present substantial barriers to decision-making. Findings indicate that while structured family-centered care models have been effective in high-resource settings, parents in low-resource environments often face systemic inequities limiting their ability to engage fully in medical decisions. To address these barriers, policy interventions must promote inclusive and culturally sensitive healthcare frameworks that facilitate shared decision-making. Training programs for healthcare professionals should incorporate strategies to improve parent-provider communication and support parental mental health during high-stress medical scenarios. Future research should focus on evaluating the long-term impact of parental involvement and exploring technological interventions to bridge gaps in healthcare accessibility. By fostering stronger partnerships between parents and healthcare systems, this study underscores the importance of parental engagement in achieving improved pediatric health outcomes and ensuring equitable healthcare access.

Abstract

Mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) have received increasing attention as effective tools for promoting mental health and psychological resilience. This narrative review explores the effectiveness of MBIs in reducing stress and anxiety, improving emotional regulation, and fostering long-term mental well-being across various populations. Literature was gathered from Scopus, PubMed, and Google Scholar using a comprehensive keyword and Boolean search strategy. Studies were selected based on inclusion criteria focusing on empirical research involving healthcare workers, youth, and vulnerable populations. The findings affirm the effectiveness of MBIs in mitigating stress and anxiety, especially during crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Emotional regulation was significantly enhanced among individuals engaging in mindfulness, with outcomes varying based on gender, cultural context, and program design. Long-term benefits were closely associated with the consistency of practice, highlighting the importance of routine engagement. Systemic barriers including organizational resistance, limited training, and lack of resources were identified as key challenges to implementation. The discussion emphasizes the need for evidence-based policies, public education, standardized training, and multi-sectoral collaboration. Ultimately, the review recommends the integration of culturally tailored mindfulness programs into national mental health strategies to enhance accessibility and effectiveness. Future research should target longitudinal and inclusive studies to bridge existing gaps in the literature and inform scalable mental health solutions.

Abstract

Parenting and child welfare are influenced by a complex interplay of socioeconomic, psychological, and cultural factors. This study examines the impact of financial stability, parental mental health, and cultural influences on child development, emphasizing the importance of systemic interventions in mitigating challenges faced by families. A comprehensive literature review was conducted using Scopus, Google Scholar, and PubMed, focusing on empirical studies from the past five years. Key findings indicate that financial hardship exacerbates parental stress, leading to diminished child welfare outcomes, while parental mental health significantly affects parenting efficacy. Cultural contexts play a crucial role in shaping parenting practices, necessitating culturally responsive interventions. Effective solutions include peer support programs, economic assistance, and the integration of mental health services into family support frameworks. Despite the progress in research, gaps remain in understanding the long-term effects of interventions, the role of digital parenting support, and the challenges faced by diverse family structures. Policy recommendations include expanding financial aid, fostering multi-sectoral collaboration, and enhancing access to culturally adapted parenting programs. Future studies should focus on longitudinal research to assess intervention effectiveness and explore innovative solutions for improving child welfare globally. This research underscores the urgency of implementing comprehensive strategies to enhance parenting practices and promote child well-being in diverse socio-economic and cultural contexts.
