Abstract

Questionnaire as an instrument of research is relatively often applied specifically to social research such as behavioral research, marketing research, human resources and others. This article discusses the importance of questionnaire for survey research. Statements or questions in the questionaire determine the success of the research related to the quality of the data, the primary data. The data quality depends on two things: the quality of the instrument and the quality of data collection techniques. Fundamentally (basic principles), the researcher should build the concept of variable. And the abstract concept called constructs. The concept of varying value will be variable. The next stage, these variables should be operationalized and it was measure based on dimensions (indicators. This is where the researchers tested actually associated with theoretical insights in terms of concept development. Technically the researcher need to note the signs of making the statements or questions, but the other required respondent’s understanding. Finally researchers need to control over the validity and reliability before the questionnaire distributed to the respondents.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Azollapinnata and Blue - green Algae As Biofertilizer on System of Rice Intensification ( SRI ). This study was conducted from March 2010 to June 2010 in the greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Padjadjaran, Jatinangor, Sumedang. The research location is at an altitude of ± 700 mdpl . This experiment used a randomized block design (RAK) factorial consisting of two treatments Azollapinnata (4 stage treatment ), namely: a0 = without Azolla ; pot -1 Azolla; a2 = 50 g pot -1 Azolla; a3 = 75 g pot -1 Azolla dan Blue-green Algae ( 3 stage treatment ) , namely : b0 = without BGA ; b1 = 0.05 lt pot-1 BGA; b2 = 0.1 lt pot-1BGA with three replications. The results showed Azollapinnataproviding various treatments and BGA does not significantly affect the growth of rice plants SRI.Perlakuana3b1 provide the highest influence on the number of tillers and a0b2 treatment gave the highest effect on plant height and plant height difference . However a3b1 treatment gives the best effect because it is more consistent both in the number of tillers and plant height.

Abstract

Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi is a form of siymbiotic mutualism between fungi and plant root. Fungi give nutrients and water to host plant and host plant give carbon to fungi. Around 4 – 20 % photosynthate as hexose are translocated to mycorrhizal root and converted directly to glycogen and trehalose at IRM to continue transport to ERM. Carbon metabolism is going at asymbiotic and symbiotic phase with pathways consist of glycolysis, tricarboxilate acid cycle, and pentose phosphate pathway (PPP), glyoxilate, non photosynthesis carbon metabolism, and Glu and Arg synthesis. There is no lipid acid synthesis at asymbiotic phase so the fungi not produce new propagule and became symbion obligate. Carbon as TAG is synthesed at IRM and transported to ERM to preserve and used in ERM anabolism and spore germination. Carbon is transported through lipid translocation mechanism.

Abstract

Biodiesel was the process of esterification and transesterification of jatropha oil has a yield of 50% of dry jatropha seeds. Physicochemical characteristics of biodieselfrom jatropha curcas L.), among others, specific gravity (0.89 g/L), acid number (0.549 mg KOH/g), iod number (65.79 gI2/100g), and hydroxy numbers entered into theIndonesian Biodiesel Quality Standards, except for viscosity (9,7 cSt). Characteristics of Fourier Transformation Infrared spectra showed that the absence of the intensity of the OH group show has been a process of methylation of castor oil fatty acids. The composition of fatty acid methyl esters of biodiesel was dominated by the acid that has a double chain of oleic and linoleic acid. These compounds were dominated by oleic acid (39.33%), linoleic (27%), palmitic acid (11.14%) and stearic acid (5.11%).
