Abstract

Increased intensity of use of inorganic fertilizers affect the soil health declinecharacterized by the decline of soil organic carbon. Attempts to paddy soil healthremediation can be conducted by using straw compost and biofertilizer which adaptive onpaddy soil ecosystems. This research aimed to study of restore of soil health and fertilitythrough the use of biological fertilizers, rice straw compost and fertilizer urea in lowlandrice. The research was conducted use factorial randomized block design consisting of twofactors, ie the combination of nitrogen fixation biofertilizer and straw compost (factor A)and nitrogen fertilizer (factor B). The results showed that the application of biofertilizer400 g ha-1 and 2 ha-1 tons of rice straw compost can restore soil health as indicated byan increase in soil organic C from 1.25% to over 2% and the increased population andactivity of bacteria.

Abstract

Rice is an important component of farming in Indonesia, because it is a staplecrop that should be available at all times. Therefore, rice production must be improvedboth intensive and extension. One of the increase in rice yield can be done by adjustingthe cropping system include the SRI (The System of Rice Intensification) . But rice withSRI method resulted weeds growth, because the SRI system, conditioned water withoutflooded. The object of the experiment was to study the characteristics of weeds and yieldcomponents of rice (Oryza sativa L.) on the SRI paddy cultivation due to Presence ofWeed. The design of experiment was a Randomized Block Design with eight treatmentand replicated 3 times. Eight treatments were as follows : A = With weeds to harvest, B =With weeds until the age of 21 days after planting (DAP), C = With weeds until the ageof 42 DAP, D = With weeds until the age of 63 DAP, E = weeds free until the age of 21DAP , F = weeds free until the age of 42 DAP, G = weeds free until the age of 63 DAP,H = weeds free until harvest. The results of this experiment showed that : There arenine species of weeds, which consists of seven dominant species, the 3 species ofbroadleaf groups, two species of grass and two species of seedges groups, Yieldcomponents of paddy crop in the SRI system is influenced by the presence of a weed in aplantation, so that weeding will be done on SRI's cropping system. Control of weeds incropping systems SRI, should be done at the right time, at least until the age of the plant42 days after planting.

Abstract

The use of supreme paddy varieties is one of the major technologies, which canincrease paddy productivity. With the availability of paddy varieties that has beenreleased by government, farmers are now able to select varieties that compatible to thelocation, high yield, and high selling value. Every paddy varieties require differentmanagement, in order to obtain optimal production is necessary to adjust the varietiesand cropping methods for a certain environment in obtaining the desired level of resultswith limited land area. The difference yield from each different spacing is not as much aseach different variety. Based on those things, the study was conducted in order todetermine the growth characterization and yield of several paddy varieties with differentspacing on irrigated soil. The research was conducted from April to August 2009, inKabupaten Karawang, using Split Plot Design with four replications. The main plot:plant spacing (20 cm x 20 cm and 27 cm x 27 cm), while the subplot: paddy varieties (4Hipa Ceva, Hipa 6 Jete, SL8 SHS and Ciherang). Research shows: no interactionbetween the spacing of rice varieties to growth characterization and paddy yield. Theresult of independent test shows that the different spacing has en effect on growthcharacterization and paddy yield. Spacing of 27 cm x 27 cm, showing the number oftillers per hill, percentage of filled grain per panicle, filled grain weight per hill and thehighest yield per plot 7.17 tonnes per hectare. Different paddy varieties influence growthcharacterization and paddy yield. SL8SHS and Ciherang varieties produce a low numberof tillers, but shows the highest percentage of filled grain per panicle, filled grain weightper hill and the highest yield per plot with results of each 7.47 and 7.37 tonnes perhectare.

Abstract

Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) is hyper Rhizobakteri growingplants, which are groups of beneficial bacteria that actively colonize rizosfir. Plantgrowth hormones will meet their needs through the ability to get from rizosfir and filosfiras a result of the activity of PGPR in synthesising fitohormon. In the rhizosphere zone, the interaction of plants with PGPR has a very important role in maintaining soilbiological environment. One of the most common ways how PGPR increase nutrientcapture by plants that alter plant hormone levels. The purpose of this article shows theeffect of PGPR on plant growth fitohormon corn. Some of the genus Pseudomonas,Azotobacter, Bacillus, and Seratia identified as PGPR fitohormon producer that canimprove plant growth and yield of maize.

Abstract

Livestock industry aims to expand jobs and trying to increase the consumption of animal protein communities through the provision of meat, eggs, and dairy development. One of the cattle business has a good prospect of broiler business is that demand continues to increase along with the increase of population. The purpose of research is to look at business development and the sensitivity of broiler business. The research method used was the case study method. The data used in the analysis is the analysis of feasibility are: Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and Sensitivity Analysis. The results showed that the chicken business "Tani Rahayu" deserves to be developed with a NPV of Rp 654.093.820,00, 30.1% IRR, B-C ratio 2,1, and a PP of 1,9 years.

Abstract

Tannin is the compound astringent, bitter plant polyphenols that contain groups that can form a complex hydrocyls strong links with proteins and other macromolecules.Tannins are water soluble phenolic compounds having molecular weights between 500 and 3000 Da that can bind and precipitate or shrink protein.Tannin classified intohydrolyzable tannins and condensed tannins (proanthocyanidins). Dekstruction or modification of tannin has an important role in wood preservatives, heavy metal adsorbents, medicine, antimicrobials, etc.

Abstract

Some microbes in the group non-symbiotic bacteria capable of fix nitrogen. The process of nitrogen fixation by non-symbiotic bacteria requires several conditions : (1) the enzyme nitrogense, (2) the availability of energy resources in the form of ATP, (3) the potential lowering of the electron source, (4) a system of protection of nitrogenase enzyme from inactivation by oxygen, and (5) rapid transfer of nitrogen to prevent the inhibition of the enzyme nitrogenase. The result of nitrogen fixation by non-symbiotic aerobic bacteria was higher than the non-symbiotic fixation by anaerobic bacteria. The mechanism of protection of nitrogenase from oxygen by non-symbiotic aerobic bacteria are consuming excessive O2 for respiration and Azotobacter which have a capsule mucus (EPS) a thick helping protect the enzyme nitrogenase from O2. For anaerobic bacteria oxygen is not a problem because the environmental of bacteria are low oxygen
