Abstract

Learning media that are less innovative and varied can result in reduced student learning motivation. One of the learning media that can be used is monopoly game. The research aims to determine the development, practicality, and effectiveness of the SIMAHI Monopoly game to increase learning motivation. This is development research with the ADDIE model which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. This research is a pre-experimental study with a one group pretest-posttest research design. Data collection was carried out by interviews and questionnaires. The data analysis used in this study was the prerequisite test (normality and homogeneity) and paired t-test. The results of this study indicate that the monopoly game is feasible to use with media validation of 80.88% and material validation of 93.85%, both of which are in the very valid category. For practicality the teacher gets 97.50% and students 85.98% including the very practical category. The SIMAHI monopoly game is effective for increasing learning motivation with a percentage of 11.19%. The results of the t-test show that there is a significant difference in average between students' learning motivation before and after using the SIMAHI Monopoly game learning media.

Abstract

Multimedia-assisted learning represents a transformative strategy in modern education, designed to enhance student engagement and comprehension. This study investigates the impact of Buddhist-themed multimedia tools in elementary education, addressing limitations of traditional instructional methods. Using Dual Coding and Cognitive Load Theories as frameworks, a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design compared the learning outcomes of students exposed to multimedia resources against those taught using conventional methods. The results demonstrated that integrating visual and auditory media significantly enhanced student comprehension, retention, and engagement. Statistical analyses, including t-tests and ANOVA, confirmed that the experimental group exhibited superior learning outcomes compared to the control group. Additionally, qualitative feedback indicated strong student approval of the interactive and culturally tailored content. However, challenges such as limited technological resources and insufficient teacher preparedness were identified, highlighting the necessity of targeted infrastructure investment and professional development. This study emphasizes the importance of culturally responsive multimedia tools in improving educational practices, offering practical recommendations for integrating innovative technologies into diverse learning environments

Abstract

Earth society has been facing a very complex problem, namely climate change. Climate change has had a huge impact on life such as water crisis, natural disasters, health problems, food scarcity, and other socio-economic problems. Within the UNESCO framework, climate action is one of the thematic priorities of education for sustainable development. Education is a strategic sector to conduct climate change transformation education so that students grow as individuals who have the knowledge, skills and attitudinal values to respond to climate change. The purpose of this study is to review approaches to implementing climate change education in primary and secondary schools from different countries. This study used a systematic literature review method to collect and analyse data from 28 articles relevant to the topic under study. Results of the study classified various of approaches overview, there are curriculum, professional development, learning model, interdicipliner, project, and community approach. This research shows that climate change education involves not only students and teachers but also the local community. The implications of the results of this study are useful for the development of climate change education as sustainability education.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Situational Teaching method in enhancing emergency language skills among foreign language learners, particularly in the context of using English as a communication tool during crisis or emergency situations. Emergency language skills are increasingly essential in today’s global landscape, especially for individuals working in fields such as healthcare, tourism, transportation, or disaster response, where clear and rapid communication is critical. A quasi-experimental method was employed using a pre-test and post-test control group design. The study involved 60 intermediate-level language learners who were randomly assigned to two groups: an experimental group that received instruction through Situational Teaching, and a control group that was taught using conventional grammar-based methods. Data collection instruments included emergency language proficiency tests, classroom observations, and semi-structured interviews. The instructional program was implemented over eight weeks with two sessions per week. The results revealed a statistically significant improvement (p < 0.01) in emergency language skills scores in the experimental group compared to the control group. Additionally, classroom observations and interviews indicated that learners in the experimental group demonstrated enhanced confidence, fluency, and the ability to comprehend and respond more appropriately and contextually to emergency scenarios. The use of realistic situational simulations was found to increase both emotional and cognitive engagement, which in turn strengthened language acquisition in high-stress contexts. In conclusion, this study affirms that the application of Situational Teaching effectively enhances emergency language skills. It is recommended as a pedagogical strategy within foreign language curricula, especially when addressing the contextual and functional needs of learners in high-pressure environments.

Abstract

This study aims to measure the effectiveness of the use of SimCity simulation games as an interactive learning medium in improving students' understanding of the concept of trading in Microeconomics courses. The method used is a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, namely one-group pretest- post-test. The research subjects consisted of 14 students who participated in intervention learning using SimCity, where they experienced firsthand the process of contextual economic decision-making in a simulation of urban development. Data collection was carried out through an initial test (pretest) and a final test (post-test) to measure the level of student understanding before and after the intervention. The data were analyzed using a statistical test paired with a sample t-test to determine the significance of the difference in values. The results of the analysis showed that the average pretest score was 15.3 and increased to 18.7 in the post-test. The t-test yielded a significance value (p) of 0.000 (p < 0.05), which means that there was a statistically significant improvement. The conclusion of this study is that the use of SimCity has been shown to be effective in improving students' understanding of the concept of commerce. Simulation games provide a contextual, reflective learning experience and encourage critical thinking and cognitive engagement. However, the limitations of this study lie in the non-use of the control group and the relatively small number of participants. Further research is recommended to adopt a full experimental design with a larger sample count and a more diverse material context.

Abstract

The Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) is an integral part of the Merdeka Curriculum, aimed at shaping Indonesian students to be individuals of noble character, independence, mutual cooperation, global diversity, critical thinking, and creativity. This article discusses the implementation of the P5 program at SMPN 4 Gamping and explores the active roles of university students in supporting the program. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The findings reveal that university students act as facilitators, mentors, and inspirators in P5 activities, particularly in the development of environment-based, entrepreneurial, and cultural arts projects. Their involvement has shown a positive impact on students’ enthusiasm and participation, while also serving as a means for university students to enhance their social and pedagogical competencies. These findings emphasize the importance of synergy between higher education institutions and primary education units in supporting the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, especially through project-based learning activities like P5.

Abstract

This research study was carried out to determine the extent of the utilization of instructional materials for teaching agricultural science in senior secondary schools in Kaduna State, Nigeria. The study was guided by two specific objectives, two research questions and one null hypothesis. Descriptive survey research design was used for the study. The population of the study was fifteen thousand (15,000) agricultural science teachers and students. Three hundred and ninety (390) agricultural science teachers and students were sampled using multistage sampling procedure. The data collected were analysed using frequency counts and percentages to answer the research questions. The null hypothesis was tested using regression analysis at 0.05 level of significance. The result of the study affirmed that utilization of instructional materials have significantly affect teaching of agricultural science in senior secondary schools in Kaduna State. Effectiveness of instructional materials, number of learners per class, resourcefulness of teachers were the factors that affect the use of instructional materials. It was recommended that, school authorities, zonal education offices and government in collaboration with Kaduna State ministry of Education should organize and sponsor training and retraining programmes through workshops, seminars for teachers on utilization of instructional materials for teaching agricultural science in schools.
