Abstract

The social rehabilitation process in which children face legal conflict is not easy, especially when they are far from their families. This article aims to examine the forms and benefits of social support from foster parents to Children in Conflict with the Law (ABH) who are undergoing the process of social rehabilitation. Descriptive qualitative research was conducted at the Social Rehabilitation Center for Children who Need Special Protection (BRSAMPK). This research was conducted in March-July 2021. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews with 13 informants, consisting of children in conflict with the law, heads of social services and rehabilitation, foster parents, and social workers. The results of the research show that foster parents BRSAMPK Handayani Jakarta provide social supports to children: emotional support in the form of giving affection, appreciation support in the form of giving positive sentences, instrumental support in the form of giving rewards, and informative support in the form of input and suggestions. The social support provided by foster parents can fill the absence of the family and help the child undergo the social rehabilitation process. The social support received by ABH makes them feel comfortable and open with their foster parents; the social rehabilitation process is smoother; and encourages changes in ABH behavior. The conclusion is that the social support provided by foster parents who are significant others has a very crucial role in the social rehabilitation process and fulfillment of ABH's rights. This article contributes to the study of social welfare by providing a more in-depth description of the role of social support for ABH in social rehabilitation process, facilitating behavioral change, and fulfilling the rights of ABH.

Abstract

Plastic waste has become an urgent environmental issue in Indonesia. This study aims to identify innovative practices implemented by food and beverage companies in Indonesia in managing plastic packaging waste, thereby serving as a reference for other companies and policymakers. This research provides an empirical contribution to understanding waste management efforts as part of corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitments. The methodology employed a qualitative approach through document analysis, involving an in-depth examination of CSR reports from companies during the 2021–2023 period. Data validity and reliability were ensured through triangulation with other relevant sources, such as sustainability reports and related publications. The analysis revealed that through technological innovation, strong partnerships, and a commitment to sustainable practices, companies successfully reduced plastic waste by up to 30% while expanding networks of Waste Banks, the Green Warmindo Program, and the Drop Box Program. Collaborations through PRAISE and IPRO have also proven effective in raising public awareness and enhancing waste management efficiency, providing valuable guidance for other companies to adopt more responsible practices. The findings of this study have significant implications for the development of more comprehensive waste management policies and encourage collaboration among governments, industries, and communities to achieve sustainable development goals.

Abstract

The waste problem in Jakarta is a complex issue related to the large volume of waste, dependence on Bantargebang TPST, and the various environmental impacts caused. Waste from Jakarta brought to Bantargebang TPST reaches 6,500-7,000 tons daily. This TPST hurts the environment and the health of the surrounding community, as well as the risk of ARI, air pollution, groundwater pollution, and environmental aesthetics. As compensation for these negative impacts, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government allocates compensation funds for affected communities. This is regulated in Article 10 letter (e) of DKI Jakarta Regional Regulation number 4 of 2019 which states that the community has the right to obtain compensation for the negative impact of waste landfills. Furthermore, the distribution, distribution, and criteria for compensation beneficiaries are regulated in the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between the Governor of DKI Jakarta the Mayor of Bekasi, and the Bekasi City Environment Agency Work Plan (Renja) for 2021. This research aims to describe compensation in DKI Jakarta's waste management policy along with its distribution and highlight related regulations. This research is designed with a qualitative approach, the method used is a literature study, namely research journals, books, reviewing regulations, official government reports, and media coverage. The results show that the distribution of compensation has not been fully effective in improving the welfare of affected communities. This research fills the knowledge gap on Bantargebang TPST compensation distribution and offers a new analysis of waste management policy in DKI Jakarta from the perspective of social welfare science and social policy studies.

Abstract

The tourism sector is one of the sectors that contributes the largest foreign exchange in Indonesia. To develop this, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy continues to encourage the community-based tourism industry, with one of them developing a tourist village program. One way to realize the tourist village program in Indonesia is to use the Asset Based Community Development approach by emphasizing the use of potential assets owned by an area. The purpose of this research is to identify the potential or assets that exist in a village/region that can be developed into a tourist village by emphasizing community participation in the implementation process using the Asset Based Community Development approach. In addition, this program is also expected to improve the community's economy so that it is more prosperous and independent. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach using concept review techniques to clarify, explore, and analyze key concepts found in the literature review. The author uses library materials as references and references for writing, sourced from scientific articles, books, and electronic newspapers that are considered relevant to the topic being studied. The results stated that five main capital/assets can be used in the tourism village development program, namely human, social, physical, financial, and environmental capital. In tourism village development activities, the community must first know what local assets or strengths are owned by the village and then can be developed to support the success of the program, such as the management of natural assets/environment, community, and local culture.

Abstract

Students assigned with field practice (practicum) are prone to experiencing burnout. This study focuses on Social Welfare students who are currently undertaking practicum assignments. Burnout conditions can disrupt their social functioning and impacting target groups, institutions, and universities. One factor related to burnout is social support perceived by students. However, there is still minimal research related to burnout and social support among practicum students from social departments in Indonesia. Therefore, this study aims to describe the relationship between social support and burnout. This study uses a quantitative approach with descriptive objectives. The sample in this study was all UI Social Welfare practicum students in the even semester of 2023/2024, with a final sample of 75 students. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires in June 2024. The data analyzed univariately and bivariately using Kendall's tau-b test with SPSS. Univariate analysis showed that 70.7% of students experienced moderate levels of burnout, 73.7% of students had moderate perceptions of peer social support, and 65.3% of students had moderate perceptions of social support from school supervisors. Kendall's tau-b test results indicated a significant but weak negative relationship between peer social support and burnout (T = -.334, p < 0.05) and between school supervisor social support and burnout (T = -.322, p < 0.05).
