Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of active learning strategies in improving student learning outcomes in Islamic Education at SMP Negeri 2 Lembah Seulawah. The research focuses on the application of methods such as cooperative learning, group discussions, and multimedia tools, which are designed to engage students more actively in the learning process. The study examines the impact of these strategies on student engagement, comprehension, and academic performance in the context of Islamic Education. The results indicate that active learning strategies significantly enhance student participation and understanding of the subject matter. Students demonstrated improved academic performance, as evidenced by an increase in post-test scores compared to pre-test scores. The use of multimedia tools and group activities fostered a more interactive and engaging classroom environment, which helped students connect better with the content and apply Islamic teachings to real-life situations. This research highlights the importance of incorporating active learning methods into Islamic Education to create a more engaging, student-centered learning environment. It also emphasizes the need for teacher training and proper planning to overcome challenges such as time management and adapting to new teaching methods. The findings suggest that active learning is a promising approach to improving student outcomes in Islamic Education, and its implementation can lead to more motivated and successful learners.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' reading skills by using group investigation techniques. The subjects in this study were intensive reading skills to find information for discussion materials of class VIII B MTsN 1 Bengkulu Tengah students. The variables revealed in this study were intensive reading skills to find information for discussion materials and group investigation techniques. This study is a classroom action research that includes two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data collection was carried out by tests and non-tests. Data collection tools were in the form of observation guidelines, interview guidelines, journal guidelines, and documentation guidelines. The data analysis techniques used were quantitative and qualitative techniques. Based on the results of the data analysis, it can be seen that intensive reading skills to find information for discussion materials after participating in intensive reading learning to find information for discussion materials using the group investigation technique have proven to have increased. The results of the pre-cycle intensive reading test showed an average value of 50.07% and in cycle I an average value of 61.07 was obtained. This means that there was an increase of 11%. In the test results, finding important information in each pre-cycle paragraph was 20.12% and in cycle I was 29.07%. In this test, there was also an increase of 8.95%. In the test results, formulating pre-cycle problems was 30.8% and in cycle I was 32.22%. This also increased by 1.42%. In cycle II, the average class score for the intensive reading test was 74.3. This shows an increase from cycle I to cycle II of 13.22%. For the skill test to find important information in each paragraph, the average score was 30.4%. This also shows an increase of 1.33% from cycle I. The results of the test to formulate problems in cycle II were 43.9%, an increase of 11.68% from cycle I. Based on this, the group investigation technique can be used as an alternative to improve students' reading skills in learning Islamic cultural history.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in improving student learning outcomes in Islamic Education at SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Mas. This study used a quasi-experimental design with pretest and posttest assessments, involving 60 students divided into two groups: an experimental group that received PBL instruction and a control group that followed traditional teacher-centered instruction. The pretest and posttest results showed a significant increase in the experimental group's academic performance, indicating that PBL improves students' understanding, retention, and application of the subject matter. The experimental group engaged in problem-solving activities that required collaboration, critical thinking, and practical application of Islamic teachings in real-world contexts. In contrast, the control group received direct instruction through lectures and individual assignments. Data analysis revealed that the experimental group showed higher levels of engagement, critical thinking, and improved academic performance compared to the control group. The findings suggest that PBL promotes deeper learning and greater student participation, making it an effective teaching method in Islamic Education. Based on the results, this study recommends that teachers consider implementing PBL as an alternative to traditional methods, as it not only improves academic outcomes but also encourages active learning, collaboration, and the development of important cognitive skills. This study contributes to the growing body of research supporting active learning strategies in education, highlighting the potential of PBL to improve the quality and effectiveness of teaching and learning in Islamic Education.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of digital interactive media in increasing students' interest in learning Fiqh at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Anshor, Ambon. The research design used was a quasi-experimental one, with two groups: an experimental group that utilized multimedia tools (videos, quizzes, and online discussions) and a control group that used traditional teaching methods. The results showed that the use of digital interactive media significantly increased students' engagement and academic performance in the experimental group. Students in the experimental group showed increased enthusiasm, deeper understanding of Fiqh concepts, and more active participation in lessons compared to the control group. Although the results were generally positive, there were some challenges, such as distractions caused by interactive elements. Overall, this study concludes that digital interactive media can be effective in increasing students' interest and learning outcomes in Fiqh education, and emphasizes the importance of balancing engagement and focus on content in multimedia-based learning.

Abstract

The hijaiyah letter material is one of the most important materials because it greatly influences the quality of reading the Qur'an. In Islamic teachings, reading the Qur'an is one of the worships that contains great virtues. The presentation of Islamic Religious Education subjects, especially on the hijaiyah letter material presented conventionally, turned out to have very low learning outcomes. This happened especially in class I of SD Negeri 1302 Hasahatan. This classroom action research seeks to find modifications and innovations in Islamic Religious Education learning on the material of reading hijaiyah letters using the picture and picture method. This research was conducted from September to October 2018 with the subject / target of the research being 25 students of class I of SD Negeri 1302 Hasahatan. The researcher took action in two cycles. Each cycle consists of problem identification, action planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques include (1) tests, to find out whether there is an increase in student learning abilities/outcomes, (2) observation, all learning process activities to find out student activity and action results, (3) interviews to find out students' opinions on the learning process, (4) documentation, the process of providing documents using accurate evidence. From the researcher's analysis, it is known that the learning achievement of PAI subjects of class I students of SD Negeri 1302 Hasahatan has increased which is marked by the average test results of students during the learning process from cycle I to cycle II increasing. This shows that the learning achievement of students from each cycle also increased. The classical value in cycle I was an average of 67.8 with an absorption level of 58% in cycle II it increased, namely the average value of 74.04 with an absorption level of 88%. Students have learning outcomes with good criteria.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the Jigsaw active learning method model on increasing student focus in the Islamic Education learning process at SDN 1701 Tanjung Ale. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of two cycles, with each cycle including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 30 fourth grade students of SDN 1701 Tanjung Ale who had difficulty in maintaining focus during the learning process. The results of the study showed that the application of the Jigsaw method was able to significantly increase student focus. In the first cycle, although there was an increase in student involvement, there were still several obstacles related to concentration that was not yet fully optimal. However, after improvements were made in the second cycle, such as providing clearer instructions, a better structure in dividing group tasks, and more intensive supervision, student focus and involvement increased rapidly. The results of the pre- and post-cycle tests showed a significant increase in understanding the material, with 85% of students experiencing increased learning outcomes. This study concludes that the Jigsaw learning method is effective in increasing student focus and participation in Islamic Education learning. With this method, students are more active in collaborating, teaching each other, and feel more responsible for their learning. Therefore, this method is recommended to be applied in other classes as a learning strategy that can improve the quality of education
